INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Remove all the packing material and take out the electric kettle with the stand. Remove all possible adhesion foils, stick-on labels or paper from the appliance. Before the first use, fill the electric kettle with clean water to the maximum level, turn it on and let the water boil. Then pour out the water and repeat the procedure several times (at least five times).

APPLICATIONS

Unwind the necessary length of the power cord C2 from the storage space of the stand C. Place the stand on a suitable surface, in the height of about 85 cm, out of reach of children and incapacitated persons and plug the fork of the power cord to the electric socket. Grasp the handle A2 of the kettle, remove the lid A3 by sliding it out and fill the kettle with fresh drinking water. Minimum and maximum water level is indicated by the watermark A1. Snap the lid A3 back onto its place and position the kettle filled with water onto the removable base C (you will hear a signal sound).

A) Water heating to 100°C

Press the button B1 to automatically switch on the kettle to a temperature of 100 °C; the background colouring of the signal lights A5 will come on. By pressing the button B1 repeatedly, the kettle will switch off. As soon as the required temperature is reached, the kettle will switch off.

B) Water heating to a temperature of 40-90°C

Press the button B2 repeatedly to set the required temperature from the following options: 40-50-60- 70-80-90-100°C. To active the heating, B1 button must be pressed. As soon as the required temperature is reached, the kettle will switch off. During the heating process, you can change the selected temperature by pressing the temperature selection button B2.

Please consider the following tips as examples and inspiration not intended to provide complete instructions, but just to show the possibilities of heating of various liquids. Water temperatures are only approximate and may vary according to personal taste, quantity, type, quality and age of the used tea, coffee, etc.

  • 40 °C = infant formula milk,
  • 50 °C = baby foods
  • 60 °C = hot beverages,
  • 70 °C = green teas,
  • 80 °C = white teas,
  • 90 °C = oolong teas, coffee, instant drinks, soups,
  • 100 °C = black, herbal teas.

Note
To ensure maximum accuracy of the temperature set, which is lower than 100 °C, we recommend heating no less than 0.7 litres of water (preferably more than 1 litre).

Always use fresh drinking water for boiling. The temperature and time heating depends on the amount of water and the initial temperature of water. For the correct temperature setting, follow the manufacturers‘ instructions that are described on food packages (e.g. tea, coffee, instant drinks, soaps, etc.)

Note

  • Lifting the kettle off the stand cancels all the set functions.
  • If you set a heating temperature which is lower than the current water temperature, you will hear two signal sounds and the kettle will switch off.
  • If you are preparing food for very young children (e.g. to 40 °C), the water must be heated to a boil (100 °C) first. Wait until the water cools down and check its temperature before serving. The recommended safe temperature food for children is max. 40 °C

KEEP WARM function

The function can be activated by holding the button B2 for a longer time (approx. 3 seconds) – icon is displayed. Then follow the instructions in points A) and B). The maximum time during which the temperature is kept warm is approximately 2 hours and it is indicated by the signal light A5 flashing. The function can be deactivated at any time by pressing the B1 button.

ATTENTION

  • When heating water, the lid must be closed, otherwise the kettle will not turn OFF.
  • In bigger tilting of the electric kettle backwards, particularly when it is filled up to maximum, water can flow out from the electric kettle in the bottom part of the kettle. This does not affect safety or other functions and it does not mean any failure of the electric kettle. In the case of tilting the electric kettle with hot water there is a risk of scalding. Therefore do not tilt the electric kettle.
  • Recommendation: When the kettle is not used, do not place it on the stand connected to the mains. If you are going not to use the kettle for a long time, unplug the power cord from the wall socket.
  • If the kettle was removed from the stand during boiling, remains in ON position. This means that if you put it back on the stand, it will immediately continue in heating.

MAINTENANCE

Unplug the appliance from power supply by taking the fork of the power cord out of the socket! Clean the kettle only when it is cooled down! Do not use rough and aggressive detergents (e.g. sharp objects, scrapers, diluting agents or other solvents)! The casing of the electric kettle is made of top-quality glass and the heating bottom is made of top-quality stainless steel, but in common use, impurities from water get stuck on them (water scale), particularly above the heating element. It is not rust or another material defect of the kettle container. If you leave tea to infuse in the kettle, you will need to clean the kettle more frequently.

Cleaning the kettle

In the hard water area, it is important to do the decalcification regularly to keep the kettle in good working condition, because too much scale inside may cause the kettle fail to work. For the best performance of your kettle, decalcify the unit from time to time. The frequency depends on the hardness of your tap water and how many times you have used the kettle. Decalcification will clean the interior of the unit.

This may be done in the following manner

Put about 50 g of citric acid into the kettle with limescale sediment. Fill the kettle half with water and stir. After dissolving, fill it up to ¾ of maximum amount of water. Place the kettle on the stand and turn on. Turn off the kettle before reaching boiling point, let the solution work for 10 minutes and then pour it out. Rinse the kettle thoroughly with clean water. In case of very thick sediments, you can repeat the process. Clean the kettle regularly!

Cleaning the sieve (A4)

Take the sieve from the kettle. Clean it from possible sediments in running water using a fine brush. Then put the sieve back in the opposite way.
