Product Usage Instructions

Connect the Router
Tips: If you use the modem for internet access, power off the modem first before connecting the WAN port of the router to the LAN port of your modem and power it on after the connection.

  1. Connect the WAN port of the router to the LAN port of your modem or the Ethernet jack using an Ethernet cable.
  2. Power on the router.

II. Connect the Router to the Internet

  1. Connect your devices to the router:
    • WiFi-enabled devices: Connect to the WiFi network of the router using the default SSID and password found on the bottom label of the router.
    • Wired devices: Connect to a LAN port (1 or IPTV/2) of the router using an Ethernet cable.
  2. Start a browser on your device and enter tendawifi.com in the address bar to access the web UI, or use the Tenda WiFi app to configure the router.

Connect the router

Tips

  1. Connect the WAN port of the router to the LAN port of your modem or the Ethernet jack using an Ethernet cable.

Connect the router to the internet

  1. Connect your devices to the router.

    • WiFi-enabled devices: Connect to the WiFi network of the router. The default WiFi name (SSID) and password (if any) can be found on the bottom label of the router.
    • Wired devices: Connect to a LAN port (1 or IPTV/2) of the router using an Ethernet cable.

  2. Start a browser on your device and enter tendawifi.com in the address bar to access the web UI, or run the Tenda WiFi app to configure the router.

  3. Perform operations as prompted (Example: Web UI on the computer).

  2. The router detects your connection type automatically (PPPoE is used for illustration here).

    • Enter the ISP User Name and ISP Password, and click Next.
    • If you forget your PPPoE user name and password, and the connection type of your original router is PPPoE, click Import PPPoE user name and password from the original router and perform operations as prompted, or you can obtain the PPPoE user name and password from your ISP and manually enter them. Then, click Next.

  3. Set WiFi name, WiFi password and login password of the router, and click Next.

Button/port/jack Description
WPS/RST Used to start the WPS negotiation process, or to reset the router.
  • WPS: Hold down the button of the router for 1 to 3 seconds. Within 2 minutes, enable the WPS function of the other WPS-supported device to establish a WPS connection.
  • Reset: For the reset method, see Q3 in FAQ.

IPTV/2| LAN/IPTV multiplexing port, LAN port by default.

If the IPTV function of the router is enabled, it can only serve as an IPTV port to connect to a set-top box.

1| LAN port.

Used to connect to wired devices as computers, switches and game machines.

WAN| Used to connect to a modem or the Ethernet jack for internet access.
POWER| Use the included power adapter to connect this jack to a power source for the power supply.
Wall-mounting slot| On the bottom of the router. Used to fix the router to the wall.

Wall-mounting materials are self-prepared (2 screws and 2 plastic anchors). Recommended specifications:

  • Screws: thread diameter: 3 mm, length: 14 mm; head diameter: 5.2 mm
  • Plastic anchors: inner diameter: 2.4 mm; length: 26.4 mm

FAQ

  1. Q1: I cannot log in to the web UI of the router by visitingtendawifi.com.
    What should I do?
    A1: Try the following solutions:

    • If you are using a WiFi-enabled device, such as a smartphone:
    • Ensure that it connects to the WiFi network of the router.
    • Ensure that the cellular network (mobile data) of the smartphone is disabled.
    • If you are using a wired device, such as a computer:
    • Ensure that you enter tendawifi.com or 192.168.0.1 is entered correctly in the address bar, rather than the search bar of the web browser.
    • Ensure that the computer is connected to a LAN port (1 or IPTV/2) of the router properly using an Ethernet cable.
    • Ensure that the computer is set to Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.
      If the problem persists, reset the router by referring to Q3, and try again.
  2. Q2: I cannot access the internet after the configuration. What should I do?
    A2: Try the following solutions first:

    • Check whether the WAN port of the router is connected to a modem or Ethernet jack properly.
      Log in to the web UI of the router and navigate to the Internet Settings page. Follow the instructions on the page to solve the problem.
      If the problem persists, try the following solutions:

    • For WiFi-enabled devices,

    • Check whether your WiFi-enabled devices are connected to the WiFi network of the router.

    • Log in to the web UI and change your WiFi name and WiFi password on WiFi Settings page.
      Then try again.

    • For wired devices:

    • Check whether your wired devices are connected to a LAN port (1 or IPTV/2)of the router properly.

    • Check whether wired devices are set to Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.

  3. Q3: How to reset the router?
    A3: When the router is working normally, hold down the WPS/RST button for about 8 seconds, and then release it when the LED indicator blinks fast. The router is reset.

  4. Q4: What should I do if I forgot my WiFi password?
    A4: Log in to the web Ul of the router on your wired or WiFi-enabled device, navigate to WiFi Settings page, and check your WiFi password.

  5. Q5: What should I do if I forgot the login password of the router?
    A5: Use the WiFi password of the router to log in to the web UI. If the problem persists, see Q3 to  reset the router, and reset the login password.
