OVERVIEW
Remove the stock windshield. Install the Madstad brackets. Mount the Madstad
windshield to the Madstad brackets.
OEM or Existing Windshield & Stock Bracket Removal: [figure 2]
4mm Allen Tool
a. Loosen and remove the windshield screws, lift the windshield off the stock
brackets.
b. Loosen and remove the bracket screws facing toward the center. Remove the
stock
brackets. You will not be using the brackets, stock windshield or bracket
screws.
Mount Adjustable Brackets to Stock Mount: [figure 3]
Philips Screwdriver / (4) M5 X 12 mm Philips Button Head Screws, (4) M5 Flat
Metal Washers, (4) M5 Nylock Nuts
a. Align a Madstad bracket over the stock mount holes. – The brackets are side
specific.
Orient the bracket so that the adjustment knob is facing INWARD and UPWARD.
b. Secure using the provided screw assembly. Push a M5 X 12 mm Philips Button
Screw through the Madstad bracket. Then on the backside of the stock bracket
slide up the M5 Flat Metal Washer and thread the M5 Nylock Nut.
c. Mount the remaining Madstad bracket.
Mount Madstad Windshield to Madstad Brackets: [figures 4-5]
Phillips Screwdriver / (4) M5 X 20 (or 25) mm Phillips Truss Screws, (4) M5
Flat Plastic Washers, (4) M5 Soft Rubber Washers
a. Slide the (4) M5 Flat Plastic Washers up the (4) M5 X 20 (or 25) mm
Phillips Truss Screws.
b. Place the windshield on a work bench. Push the M5 X 20 (or 25) mm Phillips
Truss Screw with M5 Flat Plastic Washer through each hole from the front of
the windshield.
c. Slide the M5 Soft Rubber Washer up the M5 X 20 (or 25) mm Phillips Truss
Screw until it is up against the back of the windshield.
d. Place the windshield over the Madstad bracket holes. Working on one side at
a time, screw in the M5 Phillips Truss Screw into the holes. Next do the same
on the opposite side.
e. Tighten all four screws until you see the rubber material swell up on the
backside of the Madstad bracket.
f. Ensure the windshield is securely mounted to the brackets by pulling firmly
on the windshield from the front side.

securely; the windshield is mounted properly, and the adjustment knobs are
tightened snugly before putting the motorcycle in motion. MadStad systems ARE
NOT to be adjusted while the vehicle is in motion; you must pull over out of
the way of traffic and come to a complete stop before making any changes. The
user must never place the windshield in such a position as to interfere with
the safe and complete movement of the handlebars and controls.
Returns and Warranty
MadStad adjustable brackets carry a lifetime warranty against manufacturing
defects. This does not include cosmetic issues nor any parts that inherently
wear out or degrade over time such as rubber and plastic parts. Windshields,
deflectors, and other similar plastic parts are warrantied for 1 year against
manufacturing defects, not against cosmetic issues or issues related to normal
