IMPORTANT: Electric-Powered 2-Position Ignition Switch Compatible

The SE (Sound Extreme) Keyless Ignition Switch is compatible with ELECTRICPOWERED golf carts that use a 2-Position Key Ignition Switch with basic ON and OFF positions.

IF your golf cartis GAS POWERED or IF your golf cart has a 3-Position switch with ACC mode, your cart is NOT compatible with this SE Keyless Ignition Switch model.

IMPORTANT: Master Code

The SE Keyless Ignition Switch has a unique 6-digit MASTER CODE printed on alabel on the back of your Keyless Ignition Switch. Record and save the Master Code for future use.

NOTE: Spacer & Lock Nut are attached to the stem of your SE Keyless Ignition Switch (Spacer & Lock Nut shall need to be removed to install the SE Keyless Ignition Switch)

Your SE Keyless Ignition Switch ships in an “OPEN” status: NO PIN is required.

NOTE: PIN stands for Personal Identification Number (may be referred to as Password) Once your device is installed you can continue to operate your device without a PIN to turn your cart ON/OFF or you can set a one, two, three or four digit numeric PIN.

INSTALLATION & Wiring Specifications

STEP1 Turn OFF the golf cart’s Kill Switch Disconnect and disconnect the RED battery terminal.

STEP2 Remove the cart dashboard to access the key ignition switch.

TIP: Before disconnecting the wire terminals of the existing key ignition switch, take photos of the wire connections for reference AND to ensure you can properly reconnect the wires to the new Switch.

INSTALLATION DIAGRAM (Tab / Cable Connections)

STEP3 Remove the existing ignition key switch from the dashboard slot by unscrewing the inside nut.

STEP4 Replace previous key ignition with the new Keyless Ignition Switch in the dashboard slot. Slide the plastic Spacer down the threaded shaft, then tighten in place using the plastic Nut.

TIP: The Nut and Spacer ship attached to the shaft of the SE Keyless Ignition Switch.

When removing the Nut & Spacer, pass each of the 4 cables (x2 Solenoid cables &  x2 Battery cables) and tabs on the cables through the Nut and Spacer holes.

The plastic washer is an optional spacer needed for some dashboards.

STEPS Slide the terminal tabs on the cables from the SE Keyless Ignition Switch onto the appropriate terminal tabs on the cables from the cart, per the

INSTALLATION DIAGRAM.

TIP: Connect the SOLENOID tabs first, then connect the BATTERY tab connections.

STEP6 Re-activate the battery power by connecting the RED battery terminal and turning ON the golf cart’s Kill Switch.

STEP7 Re-mount the dashboard.

OPERATION (2 Options)

OPTION 1. Operate without a PIN

IF you prefer to NOT use a PIN, a PIN is NOT required to turn ON/OFF the ignition to power your cart.

Turn ON

  • Press the button to turn ON the ignition

NOTE: Blue LED’s (6) should light up on the SE device and the cart ignition shall turn ON when the center button is pressed. Your cart’s dash board LED indicators should also light up when the cart is powered ON.

Turn OFF

When the vehicle is in a safe, fully stopped position: Press the center button to turn OFF the ignition

OPTION2. Operate with aPIN

Follow these steps to SET UP and USE a PIN:

STEP1 Pressand HOLD the center button for approximately 3 seconds, until a “”beep”” sounds and the Red LED’s (6) flash continuously from left to right

STEP2 Enter a1to 4 digit PIN on the Keypad. There are 5 number buttons and the center @ button on the Keypad. Use the numbers on the Keypad to select a1, 2,3, or4digit PIN.

STEP3 Press the center button to save the entered PIN

REMINDER: PIN can be up to 4 digits using any combination of the 5 number buttons.

IMPORTANT: record and save the PIN_you create. IF your PIN is forgotten and/or lost, ‘you may NOT be able to start your cart AND may need to replace the device.

STEP 4 toturn ON the ignition with your saved PIN (when OFF, how to turn ON):

  • Enter the numbers of your PIN on the Keypad
  • Pressthe center button to turn ON the ignition

RESET your PIN

Follow these steps to RESET your SE Keyless Ignition Switch PIN: (reset to factory default “OPEN” setting / clear the PIN )

  • Press and HOLD the center@ button for approximately 5 seconds until a “beep” is heard and the Red LED’s flash continuously from right toleft
  • Enter the 6-digit MASTER CODE
  • Pressthe center a button to RESET and clear the PIN

IMPORTANT: IF the RESET is successful, after the Master Code is entered correctly and the center button @ is pressed, the Blue LED’s flash once and a “beep” sounds once.

IF the Master Code is entered incorrectly, the Red LED’s flash twice and a “beep” sounds twice.

IMPORTANT: record and save the MASTER CODE. IF your Master Code is forgotten and/or lost, your device CANNOT be reset and may need to be replaced.

REMINDER: the Master Code is on the label on the back area of your device

PRODUCT USE AND PROTECTION

The Sound Extreme unit is intended to be used indoors or outdoors and in land or water environments. The unit has been tested to IP66 waterproofing standards, which means the unit can be exposed to dust and water but should NOT be submerged underwater.

To prevent fire or shock, do NOT attempt to power this unit if it is wet or you suspect water has entered the unit. In this situation, please return the unit to Sound Extreme for a free assessment. If we have found that the unit has carried water, we will repair or replace the unit free of charge.

CAUTION: Do NOT open to repair. A qualified technician must carry out repair

ATTENTION : Do NOT connect to a Sound Extreme product with LED Cast technology while the unit is wet. Make sure all connections are DRY BEFORE connecting to a power source. Failure to do so may result in electrical damage to the unit and may void the warranty.

SAFETY :

This product has a limited life span of use and should be replaced when it shows obvious signs of wear.

Do not modify or remove any original component parts of the speaker. Doing so could cause damage to the unit, allowing water to ingress. A unit with water ingress should not be charged due to potential risk of fire or shock.

Please exercise care and good judgment when using your Sound Extreme unit.

You should never:

  1. Never power your SoundExtreme unit if you suspect water has entered the device. Powering a device with water inside could be potentially hazardous and cause fire or a spark.
  2. Never use your SoundExtreme unit if you have dropped it or thrown it against a hard surface which may have destroyed the integrity of the housing. In the event of a severe impact to your unit, please return the unit to SoundExtreme to review for potential damage.
  3. Never attempt to fix or repair your SoundExtreme unit. Please send it back to SoundExtreme for any assessments and repairs.

CARE, MAINTENANCE & PRECAUTIONS

  1. Do NOT apply excessive force to any surfaces of the unit.
  2. do NOT use or store the unit in places with high temperature.
  3. AVOID prolonged exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UV sunlight) and magnetic fields.

LIMITED MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY

The SE Keyless Ignition Switch is covered by a 1-year limited warranty that covers defects in workmanship and / or materials for a period of 1year from original purchase date. This warranty does not apply to any products which have been abused, neglected, modified, or used for a purpose other than the one for which they were manufactured. Please refer to the above care and maintenance instructions for suggested care details. The warranty is valid only for the original owner who purchases the unit from an authorized dealer.

Transfers do not qualify for warranty protection. SoundExtreme reserves the right to replace any out-of-stock or discontinued product with a comparable product.

Discontinued products may not be available for warranty replacement. The vehicle and/or device using the Keyless Ignition Switch and any contents that may be attached and/or in the vehicle are NOT covered by the limited manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty terms may be revised without notification at the discretion of the manufacturer.

QUICK START GUIDE (QSG)

Turn ON the cart

PRESS the center button. The LEDs light and a tone beeps.

Turn OFF the cart

PRESS the center button. Beep sounds and the LED’s will turn OFF.

TIP: The 5 numeric keys can be used to create a PIN code (Password) to start your cart.

You can choose any numeric PIN code combinationupto4 digits.

Turn ON Security andactivate aPIN code:

  1. PRESS and HOLD the center button for 3 seconds. Beep sounds
  2. ENTER your custom PIN code with up to 4 digits.
  3. PRESS the center button to activate the new PIN code.

Turn ON the cart with your Inactivated

  1. ENTER your Personal PIN code.
  2. Presale center button.

Turn OFF the cart.

PRESS the center button.

Change PIN code (Password):

  1. PRESS and hold the center button for approximately 5 seconds
  2. ENTERthe6digitunique Master Security Code (from the back of device)
  3. PRESS the center button toreset to factory “OPEN” setting (NO PIN)
  4. PRESS the center button for 3 seconds. Beep tone sounds.
  5. ENTE Renew code between1to4 digits.
  6. PRESS the center button to accept the new PIN code (Password). Beep tone sounds.
