Basics
- Pure Easy Gravity Water Filter UCF01-03 treats water with gravity-driven ceramic membrane filtration.
- Pure Easy’s ceramic filters remove 99.99% of bacteria and protozoa cysts, as well as algae, worms, dirt particles and other suspended contaminants in water.

WARNING
Use tap water if possible. DO NOT use any type of wastewater.

Assembly
- Wash hands before assembling.
- Make sure ceramic filter cartridges and stainless steel parts are clean.
- Always place the filter on a flat surface.
CAUTION
- No tools are required for assembly.
- DO NOT overtighten parts.
- The ceramic filter is very fragile.
- Handle with care.
First Use
- Rinse and clean the two containers at first use.
- New ceramic filter cartridges may have clouds of dust accumulated inside and need to be flushed before use.
- To flush the ceramic filters, wait for 5 litres of water to pass to the lower container and discard the filtered water.
WARNING
- DO NOT use the first 5 litres of filtered water.
- Rinse and clean the lower container after flushing.
Flushing the ceramic filters
- Wait for 5 litres of water to pass from the upper container to the lower container.
- (approximate wait time is 2 hours).
- Discard the 5 litres of filtered water.
- Rinse and clean the lower container.
WARNING
If water flows much faster than the standard rate (10-80L per day), stop using
it and check for leakage in ceramic filters and their connecting parts with
the upper container.
Daily Use
Use municipal water i.e. tap water or faucet water when possible. When using
natural water, find a clear stream, lake or well water. DO NOT use any type of
wastewater. The optimal operating temperature is 5 to 45 °C.
WARNING
Always keep the filter indoors. DO NOT expose the filter to extreme heat or
coldness. Frozen water may break the ceramic and plastic parts. Hot water may
cause the sealing to become loose.
- Ceramic filter cartridges can be cleaned when water flow slows down.
- Bi-monthly cleaning is recommended to maintain an optimal flow rate.
- Replace the ceramic filters after 10000 litres.
Cleaning
Depending on the source water quality, water flow may slow down due to clogging of the ceramic filters over time. If you find the flow rate is less than satisfactory, it is time to clean the ceramic filter cartridges.
CAUTION
DO NOT use any detergent or soap Stop cleaning when the original colour
(white) is restored.
Replacement
- Ceramic filter cartridges have a filtration capacity of 10,000 litres.
- Depending on the frequency of cleaning, some filters may reach their lifetime sooner or later than others. See 6. Cleaning for replacement instructions.
Replace ceramic filters when
- The filter has reached its filtration capacity.
- (1 to 1.5 years depending on the frequency of cleaning).
- Cracks are observed on the ceramic surface.
- The cartridge is caved in in the middle.
- Plastic end caps are loose.
