  6. After nesting, the upper downspout with metal gaskets and waterproof gaskets through the drain hole at the bottom of the planting groove, rotate the lower downspout from the bottom of the planting groove to the upper downspout tightly.
  7. Hang the L-shaped hard pipe of the upper water pipe on the right side of the uppermost planting groove, pass the hose below the L-shaped hard pipe through the pipe groove of the right column, nest the end of the hose over the port on the right side of the water tank above the pump pack.
  8. Put four filter sponges on the upper downspout in the four planting grooves, one filter sponge on the filter in the water tank, and cover the four planting trays on the four planting grooves respectively.
  9. Lock the four LED grow lights to the four light arms using the screws you removed from two sides of the LED grow lights.
  10. Connect the 6 round hole plugs plugged into the main line of the control box to the fan (Fan), the motor (Pump) and the 4 LED growth lights respectively, and insert the power supply plug of the control box into the socket. LED light planting mode Control
  1. Select the mode of the LED grow light (you may switch between modes through the button on the left side of the LED lamp holder)(see figure 1), the light comes with two modes: G and L.
  2. Height of the LED grow light: Adjust the height and the angle of lighting manually through the rocker’s arm(see figure 2).
  3. This hydroponics system comes with fans that improve air circulation and accelerate the cooling of the LED tubes, which increases ventilation and avoids plants from overheating. Please make sure to keep a 5-10 cm distance between the light tube and the plants to further prevent plants from overheating. To boost the light intensity in a power-saving way, direct the light at both the plant and the wall simultaneously, which could add 30% more lighting to the plants.OPCOM-Grow-Wall-3-Vertical-Hydroponic-Unit-fig- \(4\)

Seedling

Germination Stage
  1. Add water to the seedling tray, up to the water (red) level.(Fig1)
  2. Open Grow Sponge package, put each sponge piece into the water of the seedling tray (make sure the front side with the seed label is side up), press the sponges into water for 5 seconds, and ensure the sponges absorb water completely. Put a seed moisturizing cover on the sponges.(Fig2)
  3. Place the seedling tray with a cover in the shade.(Fig3)
  4. Suggest using Watering Spray water to sponges and keep them wet every day.
  5. During 0 ~ 7 days, find the sprouted ones in the tray; pick them out, and move them into the product and to the next stage: B2. Young Plant Stage.
  6. Discard unsprouted sponges after regular germination time.
  7. In each sponge, keep strong plants and cut the other weak plants.

The different plants may have different germination times, please check before plant.

Plant Stage

  • Please keep the seeds in the refrigerator if you don’t use them, recommended temperature is 41 – 50.
  • For your expected plant amount, you can refer to the sprouting rate of 1st planting cycle.
  • If you need more planting information, please visit www.opcomfarm.com and read “Plant Q&A”.
Young Plant Stage
  1. Add 10.5 gallons of water to the water tank.
  2. During Young Plant Stage, turn on LED and Pump. Please refer to the chart.
  3. Add Salt #1 (Nutrition) into the water tank and ensure EC value between(=1.0-2.0mS/cm)OPCOM-Grow-Wall-3-Vertical-Hydroponic-Unit-fig- \(11\)
  4. Ensure pH between 5.5-6.5 adjust by Soda (pH+)、Lemon(pH-). For pH adjustment instructions, please refer to the following Chart below.OPCOM-Grow-Wall-3-Vertical-Hydroponic-Unit-fig- \(12\)
Growing Stage
  1. When plants grow to over 2 inches in height, switch to L mode. Please refer to Chart II.
  2. After 4-6 weeks, harvest the larger plants for consumption and keep the smaller plants growing.
  3. For time-saving, sow the new seeds in the sprout tray one week before you start the next planting process.

Sprouts and Microgreens

  1. Before you start the next seedling, take advantage of the seedling tray for sprouts and microgreens. It takes 7-10 days to harvest.
  2. Put seeds in warm water(recommended temperature is 95 F, not over 104 F) for 24 hours.
  3. Cover the sponges with wet paper towels.
  4. Place the seedling tray with a cover in the shade or cover it with a black cloth.
  5. After germination, during the growing stage, keep the green sprout under the light and the white sprout in the shade or cover it with black cloth; in 7-10 days, you can harvest.OPCOM-Grow-Wall-3-Vertical-Hydroponic-Unit-fig- \(7\)

Change Water

  1. After a cycle of planting, change the water and clean the unit.
  2. When changing water, clean water gateway on each planting layer, you may also add moss detergent in the water tank to avoid the moss remaining.

Troubleshooting

Issue

  • Checkpoints/Solution

Lamps not lighting up

  • Make sure all power cables are connected.
  • Make sure the LED status is ON.
  • If it is on timing mode, the lamp has off time, during a 24-hour cycle.

Pump has a buzzing sound

  • The pump may make a buzzing sound in the beginning due to the air inside the pump. After a minute with water running through the pump, this could be reduced.

The lamp/pump stop after hours

  • Rotate the ring at the end of the pump clockwise or counterclockwise to get the most suitable water flow.

Water Overflows

  • Make sure it is not clogged at the water-flowing gateway on each planting layer.
