Product Usage Instructions
Getting Started:
- Turn on your meter: Connect the RTI Scatter Probe to the Tablet using the included 5 m USB cable.
- Turn on your tablet.
- Start Ocean: Find and tap the Ocean icon on the desktop.
Ocean Next Startup:
- Ocean Next startup wizard: Specify Tester information (used on printed Ocean measurement reports) and Unit preferences.
- Create myRTI account: Activate Ocean by logging in to myRTI. Select Sign up for free to create myRTI account (requires internet on first log-in).
Quick Check and Measurement:
- Enter Quick Check: In the backstage, select Quick Check. The meter will connect via USB. Follow on-screen instructions.
- Make an Exposure: Perform an exposure to get your first measured data including radiation waveforms.
Moving from Ocean 2014:
If transitioning from Ocean 2014, follow the installation process to import
data. Your old data and Ocean 2014 will remain as is.
User Account:
Ocean Next is installed for one user and requires a username and password. It
is recommended that each user has its own account for compatibility with
future cloud features.
Training:
Utilize vouchers for training on Ocean Next and your new meter through the RTI
Academy website or QR code provided.

Ocean Next pre-installed on Tablet

Turn on your meter
Connect the RTI Scatter Probe to the Tablet using the included 5 m USB cable. -
Turn on your tablet

Start Ocean
Find and tap the Ocean icon on the desktop. -
Ocean Next startup wizard
Specify Tester information (used on printed Ocean measurement reports) and Unit preferences. -
Create myRTI account
You must activate Ocean by logging in to myRTI. Select “Sign up for free” to create myRTI account (requires internet on first log-in). -
Enter Quick Check
Backstage will be shown, select “Quick Check”. The meter will connect via USB. Follow on-screen instructions. -
Make an Exposure
Make an exposure and you will get your first measured data including radiation wavefoms.
For Laptop – Install Ocean Next
For installation on another unit (e.g. a laptop) – find Ocean Next on the USB
stick.

Run Ocean Next Installer
Run the file ”OceanNextInstaller_…”. Follow on-screen instructions. When
the window ”Choose Setup Type” is shown – Select ”Typical”. When ready –
follow step 1 to 6 on page two to make your first measurement with Ocean Next.
Moving from Ocean 2014 to Ocean Next
In case you have Ocean 2014 installed on your computer, you will be asked
during the installation process if you want to import your data from Ocean
2014. If you accept this, all your data from Ocean 2014 will be imported and
available in Ocean Next. Your old data and Ocean 2014 will be left exactly as
it is and will continue to work as before. Ocean Next is installed for one
user and will require you to specify a username and password. It is
recommended, in case more than one person uses the same computer to run Ocean,
that each user has its own Windows account on the computer and installs its
copy of Ocean with its own username and password. Working in this way, will
make your and your colleague’s setup compatible with upcoming cloud and
account functionality.
