Wall Installation

Note : Before installation, please ensure the UC-IVB-50 is disconnected from a power source.

To install the UC-IVB-50 on a wall (drywall):

  1. Using the wall hanging bracket as a guide, mark and then drill four (4) 1/4” pilot holes for the drywall anchors on the desired wall. Insert the 4 provided drywall anchors into the pilot holes in wall. Secure the wall hanging bracket to the wall by using the provided bracket mounting screws. Do not overtighten as this may damage the drywall and/or anchors.
  2. Release the tabletop stand from the UC-IVB-50 by removing the 3 mounting screws located on both arms of the tabletop stand on the back of the UC-IVB-50. Please reserve these screws for the next step.
  3. Use the mounting screws from the previous step to attach the wall hanging mount to the UC-IVB-50.
  4. Attach the UC-IVB-50 to the wall by placing the wall hanging mount on the open lip of the wall hanging bracket. The wall hanging mount attached to the UC-IVB-50 can be tilted to make hanging easier and to adjust the angle of the UC-IVB-50 once it is attached to the wall.

Applications

Laptop BYOM (Bring Your Own Meeting) 1

Description:
Small huddle/conference room where users can bring their laptop to host a remote meeting (Zoom, Teams, Go to Meeting, etc.) using only a single USB-C cable. The laptop will view the UC-IVB-50 as a secondary display device to allow sharing of media content, while the camera on the UC-IVB-50 will be available as a webcam device on the host laptop. Audio to and from the UC- IVB-50 (Speaker and Microphone) ensures a smooth and clear auditory experience. If the laptop supports USB-C PD (Power Delivery), the UV-IVB-50 will also provide power for charging up to 60W.

Connection:

  • Connect a display by using an HDMI® cable from the HDMI® output port of the UC-IVB-50 to the HDMI® input port on the display.
  • Connect a laptop by using a USB-C cable from the laptop’s USB-C port to the USB-C port on the UC-IVB-50.

Requirements:

Laptop BYOM 2

Description :
Small huddle/conference room where users can bring their laptop to host a remote meeting (Zoom, Teams, Go to Meeting, etc.). For laptops that do not carry a compatible USB-C port, an HDMI® and a USB-B to USB-A cable can be used to connect to the UC-IVB-50. The laptop will view the UC-IVB-50 as a secondary display device using the HDMI® connection and will allow sharing of media content, while the camera on the UC-IVB-50 will be available as a webcam device on the host laptop using the USB connection. Audio to and from the UC- IVB-50 (Speaker and Microphone) ensures a smooth and clear auditory experience.

Connection:

  • Connect a display by using an HDMI® cable from the HDMI® output port of the UC-IVB-50 to the HDMI® input port on the display.
  • Connect the laptop’s video to the UC-IVB-50 by using an HDMI® cable from the laptop’s HDMI® output port to the HDMI® input port on the UC-IVB-50.
  • Connect the UC-IVB-50’s peripherals (camera, speaker, microphone) to the laptop by using a USB-B to USB-A cable from the USB-B port on the UC-IVB-50 to the USB-A port on the laptop.

Zoom Room & BYOM

Description:
Medium to large conference room where multiple users can bring their laptops to share media content, while a local room PC hosts a remote meeting (Zoom, Teams, Go to Meeting, etc.). Local users can connect to the UC-IVB-50 using a variety of convenient options. Laptops and mobile devices can use either Miracast or AirPlay for a completely wireless experience, while the UC-MXT Media Xchange™ Transmitter is an available accessory that makes connecting laptops a simple click-and-share process; no software or configuration required. Connected devices will view the UC-IVB-50 as either the primary or secondary display where users can share their desired content. To share this media content with the local room PC, an HDMI® capture card/device is required. In-room displays are driven from the local room PC directly to allow visibility of all participants and shared media content allowable by the conferencing app in use. Camera and audio (Speaker and Microphone) are transferred between the local room PC and the UC-IVB-50 using a USB 3.0 cable, ensuring a smooth and complete A/V experience.

Connection:

  • Connect one or more displays by using HDMI® cables from the HDMI® output ports of the local room PC to the HDMI® input ports on each display.
  • Connect the UC-IVB-50 to the capture device by using an HDMI® cable from the HDMI® output port of the UC-IVB-50 to the HDMI® input port on the capture device.
  • Connect the UC-IVB-50’s peripherals (camera, speaker, microphone) to the local room PC by using a USB-B to USB-A cable from the USB-B port on the UC-IVB-50 to the USB-A port on the room PC.
  • Connect laptops and mobile devices to the UC-IVB-50 using either HDMI®, Miracast, AirPlay, or a UC-MXT Media Xchange™ Transmitter. A maximum of 2 devices can be shared with the UC-IVB-50 concurrently.

Microphone Cascading

Description:
In spaces where users are situated beyond
the recommended range of the built-in MEMs array microphones, the UC-IVB-50 can be assisted by one or more UC-IVB-EXM Expansion Microphones (optional accessory) for more direct audio pickup. Each UC-IVB-EXM can be cascaded to an additional UC-IVB-EXM to cover large areas and/or multiple meeting participants.

Connection:

  • Connect the supplied USB to RJ-45 adapter to the MIC port of the UC-IVB-50.
  • Connect a UC-IVB-EXM to the UC-IVB-50 using a CAT6 cable from the PREVIOUS port of the UC-IVB-50 to the RJ-45 port of the USB to RJ-45 adapter.
  • Additional UC-IVB-EXM Expansion Microphones can be added by connecting a CAT6 cable between the NEXT port of an existing UC-IVB-EXM to the PREVIOUS port of another downstream UC-IVB-EXM.

Note :

  • Each UC-IVB-EXM Expansion Microphone has an omnidirectional pickup pattern and a range of 9.3ft (3m).
  • For cascading of up to three microphones, the total length of all CAT6 cables in use shall not exceed 164ft/50m.
  • For cascading of up to five microphones, the total length of all CAT6 cables in use shall not exceed 82ft/25m.

Automatic Source Switching

The Automatic source-switching function allows you to easily and quickly choose a wanted source.

  1. If the Video → Output → Screen setting in the Web GUI is set to Single Screen (default setting), source switching follows the Last-In-First-Out rule. In Single Screen mode, if a new video input is detected, the UC-IVB-50 will switch to this source and output it to the display screen, disconnecting the previous source. If two video sources are being displayed in Split Screen (Video → Output → Screen → Split Screen in the Web GUI), connecting a new video source input to the UC-IVB-50 will follow one of the following rules based on the currently active connections:
  2. 2 UC-MXT Media Xchange™ wireless transmitters: Connecting an HDMI® source will replace the oldest active (first connected) UC-MXT Media Xchange™ wireless transmitter.
  3. 1 HDMI® Source & 1 UC-MXT Media Xchange™ wireless transmitter: Connecting a UC-MXT Media Xchange™ wireless transmitter will replace the HDMI®/USB-C video input source.
  4. If all video sources are removed, the UC-IVB-50 will return to the default Guide Screen.

Pairing with Bluetooth Remote Controller

The UC-IVB-50 can be controlled by the included Bluetooth remote controller after they have been successfully paired with each other.

To pair the UC-IVB-50 with the Bluetooth remote controller:

  1. Press and hold the pairing button on the UC-IVB-50’s right side for ~2 seconds to initiate the pairing mode. The status LED on the front of the UC-IVB-50 will blink blue, indicating that the pairing mode is active.
  2. Press any button on remote controller. When pairing is successful, “Remote Control Connected” will appear on the display connected to the UC-IVB-50. The remote controller is now ready for use. The following briefly introduces the functions of the remote controller buttons.

Wireless Screen Mirroring (BYOD – Bring Your Own Device)

The UC-IVB-50 allows users to share multimedia content wirelessly from their mobile devices and laptops using AirPlay, Miracast, or the UC-MXT Media Xchange™ Transmitter to the HDMI® display connected to the UC-IVB-50. For convenience and easy reference, a brief summary of the following connection instructions is displayed on the default Guide Screen of the UC-IVB-50.

  1. Using an Apple Device

  2. Step 1: Enable the Wi-Fi or WLAN feature of your Apple device.

  3. Step 2: Connect your iPhone/iPad/Mac device via Wi-Fi to the same network that the UC-IVB-50 is connected to, or if the UC-IVB-50 is not attached to a network, connect to the Soft AP (access point) Wi-Fi network that is enabled on the UC-IVB-50.

  4. Step 3: Open Control Center on your Apple device, and tap to select the mirroring device (default: UC-IVB-50) from the pop-up menu.

  5. Using an Android Phone
    Samsung Galaxy series example:

  6. Step 1: Enable the Wi-Fi or WLAN feature of your mobile device.

  7. Step 2: On your mobile device, swipe down from the top and tap or to select appropriate mirroring device (default: UC-IVB-50) from the pop-up CONNECT menu.

  8. Using a Windows PC
    Windows 10 or Windows 11 example:

  9. Step 1: Enable the Wi-Fi or WLAN feature of your PC.

  10. Step 2: On your PC, press the combination keys to select appropriate mirroring device (default:UC-IVB-50) from the pop-up menu.

  11. Using UC-MXT Media Xchange™ Transmitter
    Pair the UC-MXT to the UC-IVB-50 by connecting the transmitter to the USB-C port located on the right side of the UC-IVB-50.

    • The indicator ring on the UC-MXT will begin flashing white and the message “Paring Started” will appear on the connected HDMI® screen indicating that pairing is in progress.
    • Once the indicator light becomes solid, the pairing process will be complete and “Pairing Succeeded” will be indicated on-screen.
    • Remove the UC-MXT from the UC-IVB-50.

Important Note: Please note that this pairing process only needs to be completed once, or re-paired after the UC-IVB-50 device name has been modified.

  1. Step 1: Connect the UC-MXT to the USB-C port on a laptop or mobile device.
  2. The indicator ring on the UC-MXT will begin flashing as it connects wirelessly to the UC-IVB-50.
  3. Once the indicator light becomes solid, the UC-IVB-50 will be linked to the UC-IVB-50 and media sharing can begin.
  4. Step 2: Start media sharing by pressing the button located on the face of the UC-MXT. The UC-MXT will appear as an additional display on the connected laptop/mobile device. This display can be set like any other, and can mirror or extend the primary display, but it will be dependent on the capabilities of the device that it is connected to.
  5. The indicator ring will blink dimly white while media sharing is in progress.
  6. To temporarily pause screen sharing, press the button on the face of the UC-MXT.
  7. To un-pause and resume media sharing, press the button again.
  8. If using Split Screen mode, long-pressing (~3 seconds) the button will switch to Single View mode and display the media in full screen.
  9. To stop media sharing, press the button. The UC-MXT will still be linked to the UC-IVB-50 and media sharing can be started again by pressing the button.

Note : Up to 2 UC-MXT Media Xchange™ Transmitters can be linked and used with each UC-IVB-50.

Web GUI

The Web based GUI (graphical user interface) designed for the UC-IVB-50 allows for all administrative and configuration options for successful deployment and operation. It can be accessed through a modern browser, e.g. Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.

To access the Web GUI page:

  1. To achieve quick and easy access to the Web GUI of the UC-IVB-50, please ensure that a Local Area Network (LAN) with access to a DHCP server is available. This will ensure valid IP address assignment for communication between a local PC and the UC-IVB-50.

  2. Connect the Ethernet port on the UC-IVB-50 to a local area network using a CAT-5e/6/6a cable.

  3. Connect a local PC to the same network as the device.

  4. The UC-IVB-50 can be accessed using its mDNS address. Please Input the following URL into the browser and press Enter: mDNS URL: UC-IVB-50xxxx.local The “xxxx” in the URL is the last 4 digits of the UC-IVB-50 MAC address which can be found on either the back of the unit (under the cable cover plate), or on the Quick Start Guide included with the product. For example, if the MAC address is AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF, the mDNS address is “UC-IVB-50EEFF. local”.
    Note : The default IP mode for this device is DHCP.

  5. By default, the UC-IVB-50 Web GUI is only accessible by a secure HTTPS connection. The browser will automatically be redirected to use the appropriate URL. You may encounter a privacy error message. If using the mDNS address to access the UC-IVB-50, the correct device should have been reached and it is safe to proceed. If directly accessing the UC-IVB-50 by IP address, please consult your IT administrator to verify the IP address that corresponds to the UC-IVB-50 hardware. Most browsers will allow a security notification to be acknowledged and access to the URL can then proceed. Please consult your browser’s operation instructions on how to allow access to a URL that displays a certification error.
    The below example instructions are for the certification error seen in a Google Chrome browser:
    Press the Advanced button to expose the option to proceed.
    Press the “Proceed to…” button to continue to the Web GUI of the UC-IVB-50.

  6. Input the default username and password and click Login to enter the main page.
    Default username: admin Password: RTI123

The Web GUI includes the Overview, Camera, Settings, and Support tabs.

  • Overview – Displays basic information of the UC-IVB-50.
  • Camera – Settings for various camera features.
  • Settings – Settings for video, Wi-Fi, BYOD, etc.
  • Support – Conduct firmware updates and view more detailed information.

Overview
This page displays the current firmware version, current HDMI® output video timing in use, and the current HDCP settings for the UC-IVB-50.

Camera

GUI Elements Description / Options

Tracking Mode

| •          Auto Framing (default setting): Camera tracks group participants automatically.

•          Speaker Tracking: Camera tracks speakers automatically.

•          Presenter Tracking: Camera tracks the first recognized presenter

automatically.

•          Off (manual ePTZ control)

Position and Zoom

| The position and zoom controls (ePTZ) are only available when the Tracking

Mode is set to Off.

•          Use the directional buttons to pan the camera, up, down, left, and right.

•          Use the slider bar to zoom in and out of the image (up to 5x zoom maximum)

Tracking Effect

| Tracking effect is only available when Auto Framing is selected.

•          Smooth (default setting): The camera pans smoothly while tracking participants.

•          Immediate: The camera quickly switches from one participant to another in the frame.

Powerline Frequency (Anti Flicker)

| Set the power frequency standard in your region to prevent flickering in the vid- eo that can be introduced by some light sources (e.g. LED lights).

•          60Hz (default setting): e.g. USA, Canada

•          50Hz: e.g. UK, Australia

HD

| •          On: Increases the clarity of the camera image but may not be compatible with all software platforms.

•          Off (default setting): Disabled for maximum compatibility.

WDR

| Adjust the WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) slider to maximize the contrast ratio that

will help to capture both the brightest and darkest areas of a given lighting envi- ronment.

| Click this icon to enable the in-browser camera preview.

Note: Use this feature only for framing and positioning of the camera as this will disable the camera output to externally connected devices.

General Settings

Device Name

| Rename the device to a more appropriate or familiar name.

Note: The name must be 1~20 characters in length and can only including letters, numbers, “_” or “-”.

By default, it’s set to the product name UC-IVB-50.

•          Apply: Click to save and perform above settings.

Note: The device name is also used as the Soft AP (Access Point) SSID. If you

modify the device name, you will need to re-pair any UC-MXT Media Xchange™ Transmitters with this device as well.

Apply| Click to save and apply any IP setting changes. The LAN module will reboot auto- matically once the IP settings are saved.

IP Conflict Detection

| Enable this option to detect when a conflicting IP address has been detected on the network that can cause issues in operation of the UC-IVB-50. When this option is enabled, a brief OSD message will appear on the connected display

when a conflict has been detected and will continue to appear at timed intervals until the issue is corrected. When using DHCP as the IP method, rebooting the UC-IVB-50 should resolve the issue as a new IP address that is not in coflict

should be assigned.

HTPS

| •          On (Default): Use encrypted HTTP to access the Web GUI. Click the Apply but- ton to immediately redirect the browser to the HTTPS Web page.

•          Off: Use unencrypted HTTP to access with the Web GUI. Click the Apply but- ton to immediately redirect the browser to the HTTP Web page.

HTTPS Certificate| Use this option to open an explorer window and select a custom SSL certificate to

upload to the UC-IVB-50.

Private Key Password| Please enter the private key password used in conjunction with the SSL certificate

that is being uploaded.

Upload| Press the Upload button to send the selected SSL certificate and encrypted pass- word to the UC-IVB-50.
Restore the Default

Certificate

| Use this button to restore the default factory certificate that is provided by the

UC-IVB-50.

Video Settings

Timing

| Set the resolution for the HDMI® output of the UV-IVB-50:

•          Auto (default setting): Select to output the maximum resolution supported by the display based on the connected display’s EDID.

•          Resolution range list: Select a specific resolution from the dropdown menu to

output a fixed resolution.

HDCP

| Set the HDCP schema for the device’s HDMI® output.

Four options are offered:

•          Pass-through (default setting): Follows the input sources HDCP version on the HDMI® output.

•          HDCP 2.2: Always encrypts output with HDCP 2.2

•          HDCP 1.4: Always encrypts output with HDCP 1.4

•          Off: Disable output encryption (Note that the video output will be disabled if

HDCP encryption is detected in the source signal, following HDCP rules).

Screen

| •       Single Screen (default setting): Only a full screen source will be displayed on- screen at any given time. Newly connected sources will be given priority using the first in last out rule.

•       Split Screen : Dual view 2 sources on the screen at the same time.

CEC

| •          On (default setting): Enable CEC control. When this feature is enabled, the UC-IVB-50 will send a CEC command (One Touch Play) to automatically turn the connected HDMI® display on when the video bar wakes from its standby state. When the UC- IVB-50 senses that no active sources have been connected for 60 seconds, the UV- IVB-50 will send a CEC command (Standby) to turn the connected HDMI® display off. Wake triggers:

› Wired source connected, HDMI® or DP

› USB connected, USB-B or USB-C

› Any key from the remote

› API command

•          Off: Disable CEC control.

One Touch play

| •          Set the CEC one touch play command in hex of the controlled display device. For more information about the command, please see the user guide of your display device.

•          By default, it’s set as “80 04”.

Standby

| Set the CEC standby command in hex of the controlled display device. For more information about the command, please see the user guide of your display device.

By default, it’s set as “80 36”.

Apply| Click to save and apply any setting changes.
Load Default| Click to load the default CEC settings.
CEC Test| •          One Touch Play: Click to test the display on CEC command.

•          Standby: Click to test the display off CEC command.

Audio Settings

Expansion Mic

| •          On: When this feature is enabled, the internal MEMs microphones on the

UC-IVB-50 will be disabled and audio will only be sourced from connected UC- IVB-EXM expansion microphones.

•          Off (Default): All available microphones will be used to source audio.

WiFi Settings

Channel

| •          Auto (default setting): The UC-IVB-50 will select the best wireless channel automatically based on the saturation of surrounding Wi-Fi networks.

•          Manual: Manually assign a wireless channel for the UC-IVB-50.

Soft AP

| •          On (default setting): This enables the Soft AP (Access Point) which is a local hotspot used to connect wireless devices for use with screen mirroring and external network access.

•          Off: Disables the local Soft AP.

Soft AP Router

| •          On (default setting): This enables routing features for the Soft AP that will allow wirelessly connected devices to have access to the LAN that the

UC-IVB-50 is connected to. The most common reason for enabling this option is to grant internet access to wireless devices connected to the Soft AP, provided internet access is available on the LAN that the UC-IVB-50 is connected to.

•          Off: Disables routing for the Soft AP.

Password

| Configure the soft AP password. The password must contain between 8 and

20 alphanumeric characters, no spaces and can contain “_” and “-“ special characters. By default, the password is set to “12345678”.

Apply| Click to save and apply any setting changes.

BOYD Settings

BYOD

| •          On (default setting): This enables access to the AirPlay and Miracast wireless screen mirroring feature.

•          Off: Disables AirPlay and Miracast wireless screen mirroring access.

Access Code

| The access code is used to help prevent users from accidentally connecting to an unintended device as well as protecting the UC-IVB-50 from an unauthorized access.

•          Auto: The device will randomly generate a four-digit access code in the following cases:

› The device switches to the Guide Screen.

› The device reboots.

•          Manual: Select to allow manual input of a four-digit numeric code. By default, the code is set as blank.

Apply| Click to save and apply any setting changes.

Guide Screen

| A user generated Guide Screen image can be uploaded to the UC-IVB-50 to replace the default Guide Screen for customization purposes. Please refer to the

product page on the RTI website for localization and other templates.

GUI Elements Description / Options

Upload

| Click to open a window where a Guide Screen image from the local computer

can be selected. The image must be in the jp(e)g format with a resolution of

1920×1080.

Screen Off

| •          On: Send a CEC Standby command to power off the display after no active sources are detected and the time set in the Delay Time setting has expired. CEC on the display must be enabled for this feature to work.

•          Off: Disables the automatic display off feature.

Delay Time| Used in conjunction with the Screen Off feature, set a delay time for when no

sources are detected.

MXT Pause Screen

| Choose the privacy mask type that is displayed on screen when pausing content sharing with a UC-MXT Media Xchange Transmitter.

•          OSD: This option will freeze the currently displayed video content that is being shared from the UC-MXT when the pause button is pressed. A Pause icon will be displayed prominently in the center of the screen to indicate video sharing is paused.

•          Image (Default Setting): When the pause button on a UC-MXT is pressed while actively sharing content, a blurred image will replace the shared content coupled with a prominent message (Sharing Paused) to indicate video sharing is paused. This will ensure privacy of the source device’s screen while sharing is paused.

Login

| Use these fields to change the current admin account password. The password

must be between 4 and 16 alphanumeric characters without spaces or special characters. The default password is “RTI123”.

Apply| Click to save and apply any setting changes.

Telnet Echo

| •          On: Enable unsolicited feedback of all changes that occur on the UC-IVB-50 via telnet

•          Off: Disable all unsolicited feedback.

System

| •          Factory Reset: Click this option to return the UV-IVB-50 to its factory default settings for all options.

•          Reboot: Click this option to perform a reboot of the UC-IVB-50.

Support

GUI Elements Description / Options
Device Information This sections displays the model number, current firmware

version, and build date for the current firmware.

Firmware Update

| Click on the open field “Select the firmware files” to open a window where the firmware update file can be selected (tar.gz compressed file format). Once the firmware has been selected, click on the “Upgrade & Reboot” button to start the

update process. A progress bar will be shown displaying the current progress.

Support| Access useful support assets that are external links to the user manual and the RTI Dealer portal.

    Route power supply cords so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed on or against them, paying particular attention to the cord plugs at power receptacles and at the point at which they exit from the unit.

    Do not use the unit near water—for example, near a sink, in a wet basement, near a swimming pool, near an open window, etc.

  • Object and Liquid Entry
    Do not allow objects to fall or liquids to be spilled into the enclosure through openings.

  • Servicing
    Do not attempt any service beyond that described in the operating instructions. Refer all other service needs to qualified service personnel.

Damage Requiring Service
The unit should be serviced by qualified service personnel when:

  • The power supply cord or the plug has been damaged.
  • Objects have fallen or liquid has been spilled into the unit.
  • The unit has been exposed to rain.
  • The unit does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance.
  • The unit has been dropped or the enclosure has been damaged.

Cleaning

To clean this product, lightly dampen a lint-free cloth with plain water or a mild detergent and wipe the outer surfaces.

NOTE : Do not use harsh chemicals as damage to the unit may occur.

Limited Warranty

RTI warrants new products for a period of three (3) years (excluding consumables such as rechargeable batteries which are warrantied for one (1) year) from the date of purchase by the original purchaser (end user) directly from RTI / Pro Control (herein referred to as “RTI”), or an authorized RTI dealer. Warranty claims may be initiated by an authorized RTI dealer using the original dated sales receipt or other proof of warranty coverage.
