  • USE ONLY IN CARS WITH A 12-VOLT NEGATIVE GROUND. (Check with your dealer if you are not sure.) Failure to do so may result in fire, etc.
  • BEFORE WIRING, DISCONNECT THE CABLE FROM THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL. Failure to do so may result in electric shock or injury due to electrical shorts.
  • DO NOT SPLICE INTO ELECTRICAL CABLES. Never cut away cable insulation to supply power to other equipment. Doing so will exceed the current carrying capacity of the wire and result in fire or electric shock.
    • DO NOT ALLOW CABLES TO BECOME ENTANGLED IN SURROUNDING OBJECTS. Arrange the wiring and cables in compliance with the manual to prevent obstructions when driving. Cables or wiring that obstruct or hang up on places such as the steering wheel, gear lever, brake pedals, etc. can be extremely hazardous.
  •  DO NOT DAMAGE PIPES OR WIRING WHEN DRILLING HOLES. When drilling holes in the chassis for installation, take precautions so as not to contact, damage or obstruct pipes, fuel lines, tanks or electrical wiring. Failure to take such precautions may result in fire.
  • DO NOT USE BOLTS OR NUTS IN THE BRAKE OR STEERING SYSTEMS TO MAKE GROUND CONNECTIONS. Bolts or nuts used for the brake, steering systems (or any other safety  related system), or any storage tanks should NEVER be used for installations or groundconnections. Using such parts could disable control of the vehicle and/or cause fire, etc.

    • ROUTE THE WIRING TO ENSURE IT IS NOT CRIMPED OR PINCHED BY A SHARP METAL EDGE. Route the cables and wiring away from moving parts (like the seat rails) or sharp or pointed edges. This will prevent crimping and damage to the wiring. If wiring passes through a hole in metal, use a rubber grommet to prevent the wire insulation from being cut by the metal edge of the hole.
  • DO NOT BLOCK VENTS OR RADIATOR PANELS. Doing so may cause heat to build up inside and may result in fire.
  • USE SPECIFIED ACCESSORY PARTS AND INSTALL THEM SECURLEY. Be sure to use only the specified accessory parts. Use of other than designated parts may damage this unit internally or may not securely install the unit in place. This may cause parts to become loose resulting in hazards or product failure.

This will prevent crimping and damage to the wiring. If wiring passes through a hole in metal, use a rubber grommet to prevent the wires insulation from being cut by the metal edge of the hole.
  2. Reconnect the negative lead to the battery terminal
  3. By switching on the head unit, verify that the subwoofer is working.
  4. Check that all electrical functions of the car are operational. (lights, indicators, horn etc.)

  2. Indicator for auto-remote by radio outputs
  3. Volume level adjustment
  4. Remote signal indicator
  5. Adjustment lowpass filter
  6. Indicator Low Battery
  7. Phase shift adjust

CAUTION

  • DO NOT EXCEED THE INPUT LEVEL SPECIFIED FOR THIS PRODUCT.
  • If there is distortion or a popping noise from the subwoofer the input level is too high.
  • If the subwoofer has prolonged use in this condition, this may result in deterioration of performance or may cause damage to the subwoofer.

ADJUSTMENT

  1. Before powering-up the system, please adjust as follows: Depending on what input signal you use (Line or speaker input) : Level to Min, LPF to middle position (75Hz) and Phase Shift to 0°.
  2. Set the radio bass and treble adjust to “0” or “neutral”. Adjust the radio volume to an average level. Use music that you are familiar with. This is helpful to find the optimal adjustments.
  3. Now slowly turn up the input sensitivity until the sound quality seems balanced. Do not adjust the input sensitivity too high, as distortion may occur. Too high radio volume will also cause significant distortion. Make sure that the sound of the other speakers  is undistorted before you continue. Reduce the radio volume when you hear audible distortion.
  4. After the input sensitivity has been adjusted, set your lowpass filter according to the highpass filters of the other speakers. We recommend 75Hz, which is center position.
  5. Adjusting the lowpass filter changes the sound of the subwoofer. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the optimum is found.
  6. The last adjustment is the phase shift. Turn the control very slowly between 0° and 180° while listening to music in the usual listening position. Listen to the sound and keep the adjustment position that soundsbest and most balanced in its spectrum. The optimal adjustment depends on many acoustical factors and the shape of the vehicle, as well as the distance of the subwoofer to the listening position.
