Using Your Pencil

Turning On: Attach Pencil to iPad magnetic connector OR long press button for 2 seconds. Charging: Charge via USB-C port OR attach Pencil to iPad magnetic connector.

Standby Mode: After 5 minutes of inactivity, Pencil enters standby mode. For 25 minutes after entering standby mode, Pencil wakes automatically when used.

Status Light Guide

On : Blue light.

Low Battery (Below 10%): Red light flashes.

Charging: Red light pulses. When fully charged, light changes to green and is on for 30 seconds then turns off. Status Light Guide

Pairing Mode : Long press button for 2 seconds to enter pairing mode then go to Settings >

Bluetooth > Device List and select “ESR Digital Pencil Pro”. (Pencil can be used without being paired, but shortcuts and on-screen power level will be unavailable.)

Button Shortcuts: Press button once to go to iPad Home Page, double press to go to iPad Multitasking view.

Q: What should I do if the Pencil isn’t working?

A: 1. Before using Pencil, magnetically attach to iPad magnetic connector. 2. If status light flashes red, battery level is below 10% and Pencil needs to be charged. 3. If battery is sufficient, Pencil may be in standby mode. To wake Pencil, use it with your iPad.
