PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION
Remove all of the contents from the carton. See the important notes above. Shut off the power at the circuit breaker and completely remove the old fixture from the wall, including the old mounting strap.
- The mounting strap assembly should be attached to the backplate via two sets of mounting screws (D & H). If so, use a screwdriver to remove screws (H) from backplate (F) via holes (A & C) holding mounting assembly (B) in place. Place the screws (H) aside for future use. Mounting bracket (B) contains several pairs of threaded holes. Find the pair of holes that matches the spacing of the holes on the junction box and backplate (F). Pull the house wires through the center of mounting bracket (B).
Place mounting bracket (B) over the junction box and secure mounting bracket (B) to the junction box with mounting screws (D) and a screwdriver. Be sure that the mounting bracket is level.
Tighten the screws securely.
CONNECTING THE WIRES
Attach the fixture’s wires to the house wires which were pulled earlier from the junction box through the mounting strap (B). Connect black to black (black wire, transparent wire with black inner thread, or smooth wire); white to white (white wire, transparent wire with white inner thread, or ribbed wire); ground to ground (green wire, transparent wire with green inner thread, or copper). Twist the ends of the wire pairs together, and then twist on a wire connector. Make sure all twists are in the same direction. If there is no ground wire (green or copper) coming from the junction box, locate ground screw (E) on the mounting strap and wrap the fixture’s ground wire around the green ground screw (E). Use a screwdriver to secure ground screw (E) onto the mounting bracket. Tuck all wires neatly into the junction box.
FINISHING THE INSTALLATION
- Place backplate (F) over mounting bracket (B) so that the holes (C) on the top of backplate (F) match up with the holes (A) in mounting bracket (B). Thread screws (H) into the holes (C) in the top of backplate (F) and into the holes (A) in mounting bracket (B). Tighten the screws until the backplate of the fixture is snug against the wall.
- Slide shades (L) over sockets (J) and twist socket rings (K) onto the threads of the sockets (J) to secure in place.
Install light bulbs in accordance with the fixture’s specifications.
Do not exceed the maximum recommended wattage.
Your installation is now complete. Turn on the power and test the fixture.
Pivot handles (G) and lock in place with thumbscrews (I).
CLEANING TIPS
Treat the fixture gently! Regular cleaning will reduce the need for deep
cleaning. For regular cleaning, turn off the light and wipe down the fixture
with a clean lint-free cotton or microfiber cloth. Never spray cleaner
