- Installation: Keypad Deadbolt
- Door Thickness: 1 3/8 – 1 3/4 (35 mm) – (44 mm)
- Backset: 2 3/8 or 2 3/4 (60 mm or 70 mm)
Product Usage Instructions
Installation
- Check door preparation.
- Install the bolt, adjusting it as necessary.
- Rotate the baseplate cam to the correct position, ensuring itB is vertical.
- Connect the wire and insert a 9V battery. The lock will beep when the battery is connected.
- Install the keypad.
- Route the wire through the hole in the baseplate and install the baseplate.
- If applicable, install the strike by drilling a hole at least 1 1/4 (32 mm) deep.
- Install the cover, ensuring that the wires are not pinched.
Change Faceplate
- Remove the faceplate.
- Remove the backplate.
- Install the drive-in faceplate.
Test Lock
To lock (extend bolt)
- Press the Schlage button.
To unlock (retract bolt)
- Find User Code A on the label located on these instructions.
- Enter User Code A (four digits) into the keypad.
Quick Programming Reference
Adding User Codes
- Enter the Programming Code (six numbers).
- Press Enter.
- Wait for 3 Orange Lights + 3 Beeps.
- The keypad turns blue.
Deleting User Codes
- Enter the Programming Code (six numbers).
- Press Enter.
- Wait for 3 Orange Lights + 3 Beeps.
- The keypad turns blue.
- Enter the new User Code (four numbers).
- Wait for 3 Orange Lights + 3 Beeps.
- Enter the unwanted User Code (four numbers).
- Wait for 3 Orange Lights + 3 Beeps.
Changing the Programming Code
- Enter the Programming Code (six numbers).
- Wait for 3 Orange Lights + 3 Beeps.
- The keypad turns blue.
- Press Enter.
- Wait for 3 Orange Lights + 3 Beeps.

Q: What should I do if the bolt does not extend or retract after
installation?
A: If the bolt does not extend or retract, remove the lock and reinstall
it, paying close attention to the cam position in step 3 of the installation
instructions.

IMPORTANT NOTE
- For BE365F and BE365F20, see Additional UL steps (Not common) before beginning. (Not common)
- DO NOT use a power drill for installation!
- Use a screwdriver to remove the product from the packaging.
- Install and test the lock with the door open to avoid being locked out.
- Pay special attention to step 3. If the lock is installed with the cam in the wrong position, the lock will not function properly!
Check door preparation
If the dimensions do not match, you may need to modify your door.
Install the bolt
Adjust the bolt as necessary.

CAUTION
The bolt must remain retracted throughout the installation
Rotate the baseplate cam to the correct position
Install keypad
Route wire through the hole in the baseplate
INSTALL BASEPLATE
Slides through the same hole as wire. BHolds keypad and baseplate together during installation.
Connect wire and 9V battery
The lock will beep when the battery is connected
Place battery in holder and tuck wires
Any wire routing is acceptable as long as wires will not be pinched by cover
Install cover
Install the strike
The hole must be at least 1 1/4” (32 mm) deep.
Change faceplate
- Remove faceplate.
- Remove backplate.
- Install drive-in faceplate

BE365F ONLY
Prepare the additional hole
Install UL cup
Install UL plate
Test lock
Lock (extend bolt)
- Press the Schlage button.
- Rotate your thumbturn towards the door edge
Did the bolt extend?

Yes. A lock is installed correctly

No. A lock is not installed correctly. Remove the lock and reinstall. Pay close attention to the cam position in 3.

Unlock (retract bolt)
- Find User Code A on the label located on these instructions.
- Enter User Code A (four digits) into the keypad.
- Rotate your thumb and turn away from the door edge.
