Pro Tips – Cam & Bolt Furniture Connectors
This electric fireplace mantel uses cam and bolt connectors for furniture assembly. These make for a quick, simple, and sturdy connection method. Following these simple steps will assure a fast and hassle-free setup.
Install U1 bolt into threaded 1/8” holes in the wood panels (FIG 1). Hand tighten only. Use a manual Phillips head screwdriver (FIG 2) to fully tighten the bolt up to the shoulder at end of the threaded section.
Install the cam into 3/8” holes in the wood panels (FIG 3). Make sure “X” pattern is visible once installed. With Phillips head screwdriver, align the pointed leg of the “X” pattern with the bolt hole on the edge of the panel (FIG 4).
Align the prepared panel with the bolts and slide panel onto the bolts (FIG
5). Once the panel seats against the perpendicular panel, tighten the cam with
the Phillips head screwdriver to complete the connection (FIG 5). The panels
will
snug-up for a completed connection.
Mantel Assembly
Lay out panels C,
E, F and surround trim O, P, and Q. Locate 7 bolts (U1) and 7 cams (U2).
Following the pro tips for connector hardware installation on page 7, connect
panel C with surround trim O. Repeat for E and P, and then F and Q. Tighten
cams until panels fit snug.
Locate 4 bolts (U1) and 4 cams (U2). Following the pro tips on page 7, connect center shelf C/O with the surround panels E/P and F/Q. Tighten cams until panels fit snug. Set completed insert surround aside.
Lay out base panel D and toe kick I. Locate 6 bolts (U1) and 6 cams (U2). Following the pro tips on page 7, connect the toe kick I to the underside of base D. Tighten cams until panels fit snug.
Locate the completed
insert surround assembly from Step 2 and turn upside down on a flat surface.

carefully fit the base panel from Step 3 onto the completed surround assembly.
Working from one side, make sure the bolts sit into the connection holes.
Tighten cams until panels fit snug.
Mantel Assembly
Locate exterior side panels G and H and 4 levelers (U4). Install the floor levelers to the inside surface of side panels G and H with screws (U3). Mount to pilot holes on the inside of the side panels G and H. Locate 6 bolts (U1) and 6 cams (U2). Following the pro tips on page 7, connect panels G and H to the completed base assembly (which should still be upside down on a flat surface). Tighten cams until panels fit snug.
With help from an adult, turn the completed base assembly from Step 5 right-
side up. Locate top panel (A) and 8 bolts (U1) and 8 cams (U2). Following the
pro tips on page 7, carefully work from one side to the other, seating the
bolts into their connection points. Tighten cams until panels fit snug.
Set the completed mantel assembly aside.
Insert Preparation
Locate the fireplace insert carton. Open the carton carefully as to not scratch or damage the fireplace insert inside. Slide the insert out of the carton on a flat surface like a table. (Pro tip: Use a moving or heavy blanket to create a soft surface and protect your table.) All the logs are connected to the ember bed/heater with low voltage power wires and labeled A-D according to final assembled position. Lay out logs carefully without disconnecting the power wires to the logs.
Insert Assembly
Install Log A into the correct position in the front left side of the ember bed. Insert the two posts on bottom of logs into the two mounting ports in the ember bed. Carefully route the power wires as shown in Step 8 illustration below.
Install Log B into the correct position at the front right side of the ember bed. Insert the two posts on bottom of logs into the two mounting ports in the ember bed. Carefully route the power wires as shown in Step 9 illustration.
Install Log D into the correct position in center row right side of the ember bed. Insert the two posts on bottom of logs into the two mounting ports in the ember bed. Carefully route the power wires as shown in Step 10 illustration below.
Install Log C into the correct position in center row left side of the ember
bed. Insert the left post into the mounting port in the ember bed and the
right post into the mounting port in Log D.
Carefully route the power wires as shown in Step 11 illustration.
Install Log E into the correct position at the back left side of the ember bed. Insert the two posts on bottom of logs into the two mounting ports in the ember bed. Carefully route the power wires as shown in Step 12 illustration below.
Install Log F into the correct position at the back right side of the ember bed. Insert the two posts on bottom of logs into the two mounting ports in the ember bed. Carefully route the power wires as shown in Step 13 illustration.
The completed Electric
Fireplace Insert is now ready for installation into the decorative mantel.
Please follow steps 14-21 to complete your Media Electric Fireplace. Logs can
easily be removed if you make a mistake in the order or position of
installation.
From the back side of the mantel assembly, carefully slide the completed electric fireplace insert into the mantel. The heater will drop into the cavity in the base panel, which puts the insert into the proper position to complete the fireplace. Handle the insert carefully, making sure that the log wires are not pinched during installation. Make sure the power cord is free of obstruction from the back of the insert.
Electric Fireplace Assembly
Locate part S, the front glass (you can clean the glass prior to installation). From the back of the media console, carefully slide the front glass into the insert cavity over the insert. Slowly lower the glass onto the front edge of the insert and tilt up to fill the front opening of the mantel.
Locate the glass mounting brackets (U5) and 4 screws (U6). Holding the glass
into place against the back side of the front surround trim panels, carefully
insert the screws and twist by hand.
Finish tightening the screws with a manual Phillips head screwdriver.
Locate back panels
(B, K, R, J) and 34 mounting screws (U7). Secure panel K in place with the
mounting screws that are evenly spaced around the panel. You can leave the
screws a little loose.
Repeat for panels B, R, and J. Once the panels are positioned correctly,
tighten all screws with a power drill. Note: Back panels are key to the
stability of the furniture, so carefully pay attention to the installation of
these parts.
Locate the doors (L, M), door glass (T), glass mounting clips (U13), and mounting screws (U7). Place the glass (T) into the datto on the back of the door. Using the glass mounting clips and screws, attach the mounting clips so the thick end firmly holds the glass in the datto on the back side of the door. Repeat for the second door.
Locate the hinges (U9) and
mounting screws (U8). Using the screws (U8), mount the hinges (U9) to the back
of the doors using the provided pilot holes.
Locate the 2 door pulls (U11) and bolts (U10).
Attach the handles to the front of the doors through the mounting holes
provided.
Tighten with a Phillips head screwdriver.
STEP 20
Locate the hinge mounting screws (U8). With a Phillips head screwdriver, mount
a door to the completed fireplace stand using the pilot holes in the side
panel. Make sure to tighten the screws manually with the screwdriver. Repeat
for the second door. If the doors do not close correctly, you can adjust the
hinges as noted in Pro Tips – Hinge Adjustment on page 19.
STEP 21
Locate the 8 shelf pins (U12).
Install 2 on each of the 4 interior vertical panels. Make sure the pins are
mounted in the same row. Mount so that the shelf will sit on the shelf pin and
lock the shelf pin into the mounting hole.
Adjust to fit your storage needs.
STEP 22
Locate the 2 storage shelves (N).
Install the 2 shelves onto the shelf pins installed in Step 21.
Pro Tips – Hinge/Door Adjustment
Your electric fireplace is now complete. Carefully move the unit to its
permanent place in your home.
Make sure to get help lifting the completed unit as it can be very heavy. Once
you have it in position, you can adjust the leveling feet in the base to make
sure the unit sits level on the floor. The levelers adjust simply by hand:
turning to the right raises the floor pad and turning to the left lowers the
floor pad. Plug the electric fireplace directly into a wall outlet and enjoy
your new electric fireplace.
Please follow all warning and operating instructions.
WALL ANCHOR SAFETY CABLE
