Important Information

There is a gap between your gate frame and handle. This is not a defect. The gap on your gate will close once it is properly mounted. Please check the gate on a regular basis to ensure gate and parts are all in proper working order. If the gate is used at the bottom of the stairs, please place towards the front of the lowest stair.
Ensure gate is attached between two clean, structurally sound surfaces. Ensure appropriate hardware is used when mounting in solid materials such as wood or metal.

WARNING

  • For use with pets only.
  • STOP using when a pet can climb over or dislodge the gate.
  • Install only with locking/latching mechanism securely engaged.
  • To prevent falls, never use at top of stairs.
  • This product will not necessarily prevent all accidents.
  • NEVER leave pet unattended.
  • This gate is to be used in openings 29.8″ to 38.1″ (75.69 cm to 96.77 cm).

Installation

Step 1

Measure the width of the opening and determine number of extensions needed for the gate.

Step 2

To add an extension, begin by removing both the upper and lower plugs from the side of the gate frame. You may need to use a athead screwdriver to remove the plugs. Figure 2A.

  • Attach both the upper and lower extension connectors to the extension pole.
  • Install the fully assembled extension by inserting the upper and lower extension connectors into the gate holes where you removed the plugs. Figure 2B.
  • Replace both plugs. Place the tension knobs onto the spindles and insert the spindles into the holes located on the outside of the extension. Figure 2C.north states 5264 My Pet 38 Wide Petgate Passage - extension

Step 3

Attach gate stopper to the lower bar on the door frame.

Step 4
Insert the front latch (K) and the back latch (L) into the bottom of the pet door frame. Ensure the release button on the latch is facing up. Firmly connect them together to lock into place.
NOTE : Do not connect latch together prior to inserting the latch into the pet door, as it will not come apart once it is connected. Step 5
Align and secure with wall cups onto your wall with tape pads or screws.

Step 6

Tighten both top and bottom tension knobs inward towards the gate.
To ensure safe installation with proper gate installation, continue to tighten tension knobs until the gap between the upper latch and the upper gate frame housing is eliminated.

Operation

OPENING THE GATE:

  1. Slide triangular button located within the gate handle.
  2. While holding button, lift the handle upwards.north states 5264 My Pet 38 Wide Petgate Passage - HOLD & LIFT

CLOSING THE GATE:

  1. Manually swing the gate closed with the handle in the upright position.
  2. Return handle to the closed position.

You will hear a “click” when the handle is securely engaged.

Swing Control Operation

Rotate the knob down on the gate stopper to determine the direction the gate door will swing. Gate opens in both directions when gate stopper is not rotated.

Pet Door Operation

TO UNLOCK
Squeeze and twist the front center knob located below the pet door. As you twist, the knob will line up with the arrows on the right or left sides of the knob. The pet door will move freely in both directions for your pet to pass through.
TO LOCK
Squeeze and twist the front center knob located below the pet door. As you twist, the knob will be in the upright position, keeping the door securely locked.

WARNING
Make certain that the pet door is securely locked in the closed position if using with a child 6-24 months of age.

Care

CLEANING : Clean the safety gate using warm water and a mild detergent. Use a soft cloth or sponge to avoid scratches. Never use solvents or chemicals to clean the safety gate.
