Product Usage

  • Mounting the Telescope:
    • Ensure you have a compatible equatorial mount, such as the EQ5 type.
    • Attach the dovetail bar to the mount’s saddle plate by sliding it in and tightening the screws.
    • Place the telescope rings on the dovetail bar and secure them tightly.
    • Make sure the telescope is balanced properly on the mount.
  • Focusing:
    • Use the dual-speed focuser to adjust the focus of the telescope.
    • For coarse adjustments, use the larger knob, and for fine adjustments, use the smaller knob.
    • Rotate the knobs clockwise or counterclockwise to achieve the desired focus.
    • Check the focus through an eyepiece or a camera connected to the telescope.
  • Observing or Astrophotography:
    • If used for visual observation, attach a 2 diagonal to the focuser before inserting an eyepiece.
    • If used for astrophotography, attach a camera or a T-ring adapter to the focuser.
    • Align your telescope with the desired object in the sky.
    • Adjust the focus as necessary for clear viewing or imaging.
    • Note: The Sky-Watcher EvoStar 72ED Guidescope does not come with a 2 diagonal or any eyepiece. These accessories need to be purchased separately for visual observation.
