Intended use

This universal vacuum cleaner is intended for private use at home and not for commercial purposes. The manufacturer is not liable for any damage that may occur on account of improper use or incorrect operation. Use the universal vacuum cleaner only with:

  • Original filters
  • Original spare parts, accessories and special accessories.

The universal vacuum cleaner is not suitable for:

  • Vacuuming off human beings or animals.
  • Vacuuming up:
    – Small living creatures (e.g. flies, spiders, etc.).
    – Substances that are harmful for health, have sharp edges or are hot or glowing.
    – Moist or liquid substances.
    – Easily flammable or explosive substances and gases.

  WARNING
Children must not play with this appliance.

Environmental protection

The packing materials can be recycled. Please dispose of packaging in accordance with the environmental regulations.

Electrical and electronic appliances contain valuable, recyclable materials and often components such as batteries, rechargeable batteries or oil, which – if handled or disposed of incorrectly – can pose a potential threat to human health and the environment. Safe handling

DANGER

  • Risk of asphyxiation. Keep packaging film out of the reach of children.

WARNING

  • Persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or those with a lack of experience and knowledge, are only allowed to use the appliance if they are supervised or have been instructed with respect to using the appliance safely, and understand the resultant dangers involved.
  • Children from the age of 8 may use the appliance if they are supervised or have been instructed in its use by a person responsible for their safety, and if they have understood the resultant dangers involved.
  • Children must be supervised to prevent them from playing with the appliance.
  • Children may only perform cleaning work and user maintenance under supervision.

CAUTION

  • Never leave the device unsupervised while it is in operation.

ATTENTION

  • Never use the device without a filter, this can lead to device damage.
  • Protect the device from extreme weather conditions, moisture and heat.
Risk of electric shock

DANGER

  • Never insert conductive objects, e.g. screwdrivers or similar, into the charging socket on the appliance.
  • Never touch contacts or lines.
  • Do not expose the battery to strong sunlight, heat or fire.
  • Never touch the mains plug and socket with wet hands.
  • Only connect the device to alternating current. The voltage indicated on the type plate must match the voltage of the power source.

  • Do not immerse the device in water.
  • Only operate the device via a fault current protection switch (maximum 30 mA).
  • Do not damage the mains connection cable by running it over, crushing it or pulling it across sharp edges.
  • Avoid contact with fluid leaking from defective batteries. Immediately rinse off the fluid using water if contact is made, and also consult a doctor in the event of contact with the eyes.

WARNING

  • Only charge the appliance using the original charger enclosed or with a charger approved by KÄRCHER.
  • Immediately replace a damaged charger together with charging cable with an original part.
  • Switch off the device immediately and remove the mains plug before performing any care and service work.
  • Only connect the device to an electrical connection which has been set up by a qualified electrician as per IEC 60364-1.
  • Do not open the battery pack. Repairs are only to be carried out by qualified personnel.

CAUTION

  • Have repair work and work on electrical components carried out by the authorised customer service only.

WARNING

  • The screw connections of all connection hoses must be leak-tight.

ATTENTION

  • Do not use scouring agents, glass or multi-purpose cleaner for cleaning.
Other risks

DANGER

  • Operation in explosive atmospheres is prohibited.
  • Risk of explosion
  • Never use the device to vacuum up combustible gases, liquids or dusts.
  • Never use the device to vacuum up reactive metal dusts (e.g. aluminium, magnesium, zinc).
  • Never use the device to vacuum up undiluted brine or acids.
  • Never use the device to vacuum up any burning or smouldering objects/matter.

These substances can corrode the materials in use on the device.

WARNING

  • Risk of injury. Do not use the nozzle and suction pipe at head height.

CAUTION

  • In order to prevent accidents or injuries, you must observe the weight of the device when transporting it.
  • Accidents or damage due to the device falling over. Before all actions with or on the device, you must make sure that it is stable.

Assembly
  1. Insert the extension wand into the vacuum cleaner.

    For removal, press the unlock button, and unplug the extension wand.

  2. Insert the extension wand into the floor nozzle.

Operation

Note
The appliance will be shut down automatically if it is in danger of overheating. Ensure that the brush roller is not blocked in any way.

Charging

Note

  • The appliance does not work during the charging process.
  • The charging time is approx. 3 – 4 hours.
  • The appliance must be fully charged before first use.

You can charge the appliance in 2 different ways:

  • using the charging storage dock
  • using the charging socket on device
Charging storage dock
  1. Insert the connector of the charger into the charging interface of the storage dock.

  2. Connect the power cable of charger to the power supply.

  3. Insert the appliance into the charging storage dock.

    The charging process starts automatically.

  4. When the charging process is complete, unplug the power cable of the charger from the power supply.

Additional charging socket on device
  1. Open the cover of the charging interface.

  2. Insert the connector of the charger into the charging interface.

  3. Connect the power cable of the charger to the power supply.
    The charging process starts automatically.

Operation

Note

  • The appliance cannot be turned on without the HEPA filter or the dust container. Ensure the HEPA filter and the dust container are properly positioned in the appliance before using the appliance.
  1. Press the ON/OFF button to start vacuuming up dust / dirt.

    By default, the appliance runs in the middle mode.
    Press the ON/OFF button again to switch the device off.

  2. You can adjust the suction power while vacuuming via the Power Mode button.

    3 suction modes are available with full speed, medium speed and energy saving modes.
    The table below describes the details of suction power stages:

One click to clear out dust
  1. Press the button on the left to clear out dirt in one step.

Standard accessories
  • Attach the fabric nozzle to clean upholstered furniture, mattresses, laced curtains, etc.
  • Attach the crevice nozzle.

(1) This is used for cleaning joints, grooves between doors and windows, tiny slits, etc.
(2) This is used for cleaning delicate objects with care, e.g. bookcases, handicrafts, etc.

Optional accessories
  • Attach the mattress nozzle to clean mites / dust in the mattresses and pillows, etc.

  • Attach the dusting brush to clean wall surfaces, curtains, gaps in furniture, etc.
    You need to use the flexible hose to connect the dusting brush and the handy vacuum cleaner.

  • Attach the car nozzle to clean dirt / dust in the car, etc.
    You need to use the flexible hose to connect the car nozzle and the handy vacuum cleaner.

Transportation

The battery has been tested in accordance with the relevant rules for international transport and can be transported / shipped.

Storage

Note

  • Store the appliance in a dry room.
  • Consider the weight of the appliance when storing it.

  2. Put the crevice nozzle and the upholster brush into accessory storage.

Care and maintenance

Note

  • Use the appliance only when all filters and the dust container are installed.
  • Defective filters and filters that can no longer be cleaned must be replaced.

Before doing any work on the appliance:

  1. Switch off the appliance.
  2. Unplug the power supply from the power outlet.
Cleaning the filter set and the dust container

ATTENTION
Incorrect cleaning of the HEPA filter set
Damage to the HEPA filter set
Do not clean the HEPA filter set in a washing machine.
Do not dry the HEPA filter set with a hair dryer.
The HEPA filter set ensures clean exhaust air.

  • Clean the HEPA filter set if it is visibly dirty.
  • Replace the HEPA filter set if it is visibly damaged.
  • We recommend replacing the HEPA filter set every 6 months based on your use of the device.
  1. Unlock the dust container, and pull out the dust container.

  2. Remove the HEPA filter set, and unplug the cyclone body and cyclone filter from the dust container.

  3. Carefully empty / knock the dirt out of the HEPA filter set.

  4. Empty the dust container, and rub down the inside using a cloth.

  5. Turn the cyclone body counterclockwise, and separate the cyclone body from the cyclone filter.

  6. Clean the HEPA filter set, cyclone body, cyclone filter and dust container under running water.

  7. Allow the HEPA filter set, cyclone body, cyclone filter and dust container to dry completely.

  8. Insert the cyclone body into the cyclone filter, and turn the cyclone body clockwise to latch into place.

  9. Insert the cyclone set into the dust container.

  10. Install the HEPA filter set on the upper section of the cyclone set, and align.

  11. Align the mounting point on the appliance with the desired mounting hole on the dust container, and latch the dust container into place.

Cleaning / replacing the brush roller

Note

  • Replace the brush roller when it is damaged.
  • Only dry brush roller is allowed for replacement.
  • Do not dry the brush roller using a hairdryer.
  1. Pull the release button, and pull out the roller lever and brush roller.

  2. Remove the roller lever from the brush roller.

  3. Clean up the winding hair in brush roller and brush lever.

  4. Install the brush lever into the brush roller.

  5. Insert dry or new brush roller into floor nozzle, and fix the brush roller into place.

Troubleshooting guide

Malfunctions often have simple causes that you can remedy yourself using the following overview. When in doubt, or in the case of malfunctions not mentioned here, please contact your authorised Customer Service.

Fault Possible cause Remedy
The appliance does not run. Filter set / dust container is missing.
  1. Install the filter set and the dust container before using the appliance.

Battery is nearly empty.|

  1. Charge the battery.

The appliance is in danger of overheating.|

  1. Check whether the dust container is clogged.
  2. Clean the dust container. 
  3. Switch the appliance on again.

Suction capacity decreases. / Abnormal sound or operating noise which becomes louder.| Dust container is full.
HEPA filter set is clogged.|

  1. Check the dust container.
  2. Empty / clean the dust container, the HEPA filter and the cotton filter. 
  3. Check and clean the cyclone set.

Floor nozzle LED lights is flashing / go out| It is in danger of overheating.|

  1. Check whether the brush roller is blocked, and clean the brush roller.
  2. Switch on the appliance again.
