Introduction

We congratulate you on the purchase of your new device. You have chosen a high quality product. Please read carefully and completely through these operating in-structions. Fold out the page with the illustrations. These instructions form part of the product and contain important information about bringing the product into use and its handling. Always observe all the safety advice. Check that the correct mains voltage is available and that all the parts have been properly assembled before bringing into use. Should you have any questions or be uncertain as to how to operate the device, please get in touch with your dealer or service point. Please keep these instructions in a safe place and hand them on to a third party if necessary.

Proper use

This light is suitable only for interior use, in dry and enclosed spaces. The light can be fitted to all normally inflammable surfaces. This lamp is intended for use only in a domestic environment. This product is intended for normal operation and may only be used for ceiling installation.

DANGER TO LIFE AND ACCIDENT HAZARD FOR TODDLERS AND SMALL CHILDREN!
Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging materials. The packaging material poses a suffocation hazard. Children frequently underestimate the dangers. Please always keep the product out of the reach of children.
This device may be used by children age 8 years and up, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or lacking experience and / or knowledge, so long as they are supervised or instructed in the safe use of the device and understand the associated risks. Do not allow children to play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision.

To avoid danger to life from electric shock

  • Ensure that a qualified electrician or a person trained to carry out electrical installations per-forms the electrical installation.
  • Every time before connecting the lamp the mains, check it and the mains lead for damage. Never use your light if you find it is damaged in any way.

WARNING

  • A damaged mains lead presents a serious danger to life from electric shock. In the event of damage, repairs or other problems with the lamp please contact the service centre or an electrician.

  • Before installation, remove the fuse for this circuit or switch off at the circuit breaker
    (0 setting) in the fuse box.

  • Before assembly, ensure that the mains voltage available corresponds to the operating voltage necessary of the light (see “Technical data“). Never let the lamp come into contact with water or other liquids.

  • Never open or insert anything into electrical fittings or equipment. Doing this sort of thing can lead to a serious danger to life from electric shock.

To avoid danger of fire and injury

RISK OF INJURY!

  • Check each illuminant for damage immediately after unpacking.
  • Do not assemble the light if the light bulbs are defective. In this case, contact the service centre for a replacement.

CAUTION:  RISK OF BURNS DUE TO HOT SURFACES!

  • Ensure the lamp has been switched off and al-lowed to cool before you touch it. In this way you will avoid the danger of burns. Bulbs give off a lot of heat around the top of the lamp.
  • Allow the lamp to cool down completely.
  • Replace defective bulbs with new ones immediately. Before changing the light bulb, remove the fuse or switch off the circuit breaker (0 position) in the fuse box.
  • Do not allow the lamp or the packaging materials to lie around unattended. Plastic film or bags, Styrofoam etc. can turn into dangerous toys for children.
  • This light is not suitable for external dimmers or electronic switches.
  • Do not look directly in to the light source (lamp, LED, etc.).
  • Do not look at the LED with an optical instrument (e.g. magnifier).
  • This light is only intended for installation out of normal reach. E27-This product contains illuminants from energy efficiency category “F“ (corresponding to Ordinance (EU) 2019/2015).

Safe working

  • Only use the light bulbs specified in chapter “Technical Data“.
  • Fit the light in such a way to ensure it is protected from damp and dirt.
  • Make careful preparations for the assembly and take sufficient time. Clearly lay out all components and any additional tools or materials that might be required so that they are readily to hand. R emain alert at all times and always watch what you are doing. Always proceed with caution and do not assemble the lamp if you cannot concentrate or feel unwell.

Preparation

Required tools and materials

The tools and materials mentioned are not included in the delivery. The details and values given are non-binding and for guidance only. The nature of the ma-terial depends on the individual circumstances on site.

  • Pencil / Marking tool
  • 2-pole circuit tester
  • Screwdriver
  • Electric drill
  • Drill (approx. ø 0.6 cm)
  • Edge cutter
  • Ladder

Before installation

Important: The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician or someone trained to perform electrical installations. This person must be familiar with the features of the light and the connection requirements.
Familiarize yourself with all instructions and diagrams in this manual as well as with the light before installation.
Before installation, ensure that the cable that the light is to be attached to is not live. Remove its fuse or switch off the automatic cutout in the fuse box (0 position). Check that the power is off using a 2-pole circuit tester.

Installation

Fitting the light

  • Remove all packaging material.

  • Remove the visible screws 4 on the side of the terminal housing 5 and take off the mounting bracket 2 on the rear.

  • Use the slotted holes on the mounting bracket 2 intended for the screws 3 as a guide to mark the drilling holes.

  • Now drill the mounting holes (approx. ø 6 mm, depth approx. 40 mm). Be sure not to damage the power cable.

  • Insert the wall plugs 1 into the drilled holes. Fasten the mounting bracket 2 using the screws 3 provided.

  • Pull the protective tubes 14 over cables L and N of the mains connection cable (external) 15 (see Fig. B).

  • Connect the mains connection cable (external) 15 with the lamp using the lustre terminal 13 . Please also make sure that the colors of the connected wires match (black or brown live wire = L symbol, blue neutral wire = N symbol).

  • Now connect the protective conductor (green-yellow) to the earth terminal marked in the terminal housing 5 (see Fig. C).

  • Now use the screws 4 to fasten the light to the mounting bracket 2 .
    Model 14153105L:

  • Both adjustable lamp arms 10 must likewise be screwed to the ceiling.

  • Move the lamp arms 10 to the desired position and mark the drill holes.

  • Drill the fixing holes (approx. ø 6 mm, depth approx. 40 mm). Be sure not to damage the power cable.

  • Insert the wall plugs 6 into the drilled holes.
    Note: The bulb socket 7 is preassembled on the ceiling bracket 9 .

  • Unscrew the bulb socket 7 by turning the ceiling bracket 9 .

  • Push one screw 8 through one base 7 .

  • Now screw the screw 8 into the wall plug 6 .

  • Now screw the ceiling mount 9 into the base 7 .

  • Attach the lamp arm 10 to the ceiling mount 9
    All models:

  • Carefully screw the light bulb 12 into the bulb socket by turning it clockwise (see Fig. D).

  • Use a clean, lint-free cloth to insert the light bulb 12 .

  • Ensure that it is securely tightened.

  • Replace the fuse or switch on the circuit breaker (I setting) in the fuse box.

  • Your lamp is now ready to use.

Switching the lamp on/off
Use the wall switch to switch the light on or off.

Directing the light

CAUTION! RISK OF BURNS DUE TO HOT SURFACES!

  • Allow the light to cool completely.
  • Never change the direction of the light while it is switched on.
  • 14153005L: Turn the lamp arms 10 to the desired position.
  • 14153105L: Move the spotlights 11 to the desired position.

Replacing a bulb

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK:  When changing the bulbs, first disconnect the light from the mains supply. Remove its fuse or switch off the automatic cutout in the fuse box (0 position).
CAUTION:  RISK OF BURNS DUE TO HOT SURFACES!

  • Allow the light to cool completely.
  • Replace the bulb 12 only after it has fully cooled. Rotate the defective bulb 12 carefully anti clock-wise out of the fitting (see Fig. E).
  • Use a clean, fluff-free cloth when you are replacing a bulb.
  • Only use the light bulbs specified in chapter “Technical data“.
  • Rotate the new bulb 12 clockwise into the fitting (see Fig. D). Check that the bulb is correctly seated.
  • Replace the fuse or switch on the circuit breaker (Position I) inside the fuse box.

Maintenance and cleaning

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
Before cleaning the lamp make sure that it is isolated from the mains supply. Remove its fuse or switch off the automatic cutout in the fuse box (0 position).
For electrical safety reasons, never clean the light with water or other fluids or immerse it in water.
CAUTION: RISK OF BURNS DUE TO HOT SURFACES!
Allow the light to cool completely.

  • Do not use any solvents, petrol or similar. This would cause damage to the light.
  • Use a dry, fluff-free cloth for cleaning.
  • Replace the fuse or switch on the circuit breaker (Position I) inside the fuse box.

Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.
Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste separation, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with following meaning: 1–7: plastics / 20–22: paper and fibre-board / 80–98: composite materials.
The product and packaging materials are recyclable, dispose of it separately for better waste treatment. The Triman logo is valid in France only.
To help protect the environment, please dispose of the product properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the household waste. Information on collection points and their opening hours can be obtained from your local authority.

Warranty and service

Warranty declaration

You receive a 36 month warranty on this product, valid from the date of purchase. The appliance has been carefully produced under strict quality control. Within the warranty period we shall rectify without charge all material and manufacturing defects. In the event that a defect arises during the warranty period, please send the device to the listed service centre address, quoting the following model number: 14153005L / 14153105L.
Wear parts (such as bulbs) and damage caused by improper handling, non- observance of the oper-ating instructions or unauthorised interference are excluded from the warranty. The performance of services under the warranty does not extend or renew the warranty period.
