Cockpit Overview

The cockpit of the 2023 KICKS includes an instrument panel and
various controls for the vehicle.

Instrument Panel

The instrument panel provides information and controls for the
vehicle’s functions and features.

Getting Started

To start your vehicle remotely using the Remote Engine Start
feature:

  1. Aim the Intelligent Key at the vehicle.
  2. Press the button on the Intelligent Key.
  3. Within 5 seconds, press and hold the engine start button for at
    least 2 seconds.

The engine will start, and the parking lights will turn on.
Automatic climate control will begin heating or cooling the vehicle
based on the outside air temperature. The engine will run for 10
minutes and then turn off. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to extend the time
for an additional 10-minute period. To start driving, depress the
brake pedal and press the ignition switch button.

Locking and Unlocking the Vehicle

To lock the vehicle:

  • Push either door handle request switch (if equipped)
  • Push the liftgate request switch (if equipped)
  • Press the lock button on the key fob

To unlock the vehicle, perform one of the following
procedures:

  • Push the unlock button on the key fob
  • Push either door handle request switch (if equipped)
  • Push the liftgate request switch (if equipped)

Intelligent Key Battery Discharge

If the battery of the Intelligent Key is discharged or
environmental conditions interfere with its operation, you can
start the engine using the following procedure:

  1. Move the shift lever to the P (Park) position.

  2. Firmly apply the foot brake.

  3. Push the ignition switch with the Intelligent Key, and a chime
    will sound.

  4. Within 10 seconds after the chime sounds, press the ignition
    switch START/STOP button while depressing the brake pedal, and the
    engine will start.

Seat Adjustments

To adjust the driver’s seat:

  • To slide the seat forward or backward, pull up on the lever
    under the front of the seat and slide it accordingly. Release the
    lever to lock the seat in position.

  • To recline the seatback, pull up on the lever and lean back. To
    bring the seatback forward, pull the lever up and lean your body
    forward. Release the lever to lock the seatback in position.

  • To adjust the seat height, pull up or push down on the
    adjusting lever repeatedly.

Q: What is the operating range of the Remote Engine Start

feature?

A: The operating range is approximately 197 ft (60 m) from the
vehicle. However, it may be shorter if there are walls or other
obstructions between the key and the vehicle.

GETTING STARTED

NISSAN INTELLIGENT KEY® SYSTEM

The NISSAN Intelligent Key® System allows you to lock or unlock the vehicle and open your liftgate. It is important to make sure the Intelligent Key is with you (that is, in your pocket or purse).

REMOTE ENGINE START WITH INTELLIGENT CLIMATE CONTROL* (if so equipped)

The Remote Engine Start operating range is approximately 197 ft (60 m) from the vehicle. The effective operating range may be shorter if there are walls or other obstructions between the key and the vehicle.

For the Remote Engine Start to function, the vehicle must be in the P (Park) position with the ignition off and all doors must be closed and locked. Please see your Owner’s Manual for additional information.

To start your vehicle remotely:

1. Aim the Intelligent Key at the vehicle. 2. Press the button . 3. Within 5 seconds, press and hold
the engine start button for at least 2 seconds.

The engine will start, and the parking lights will turn on.

Automatic climate control will begin heating or cooling the vehicle depending on the outside air temperature.

The engine will run for 10 minutes and then turn off.

Repeat steps 1 and 2 to extend the time for an additional 10-minute period.

· After two remote starts, the ignition switch must be cycled before the Remote Engine Start can be used again.

To start driving, depress the brake pedal and press the ignition switch button.

LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE VEHICLE

The operating range of the Intelligent Key is within 31.5 in (80 cm) from each request switch (if so equipped).

To lock the vehicle, push either door handle request switch (if so equipped), push the liftgate request switch (if so equipped) or press the button on the key fob.

To unlock the vehicle, perform one of the following procedures:

· Push either door handle request switch (if so equipped) corresponding door will unlock. Push the request switch seconds; all other doors will unlock, or

· Press the button on the key fob to unlock the driver’s side door. Press the button again; all other doors will unlock.

The Intelligent Key can also be used to activate the panic alarm by pressing and holding the button for longer than 1 second. Once activated, the headlights will ash and the panic alarm will stay on for a period of time.

SEAT ADJUSTMENTS
To slide the seat forward or backward, pull up on the lever under the front of the seat and slide forward or backward. Release the lever to lock the seat in position. To recline the seatback, pull up on the lever
and lean back. To bring the seatback forward, pull the lever up and lean your body forward. Release the lever to lock the seatback in position. SEAT LIFTER (driver’s seat) To adjust the seat height, pull up or push down on the adjusting lever repeatedly.

STARTING/STOPPING THE ENGINE

TILT AND TELESCOPIC STEERING WHEEL ADJUSTMENTS
Release the lock lever by pulling it down.
Adjust the steering wheel forward or backward by moving it to the desired position.
Adjust the steering wheel up or down to the desired position.
Lock the steering wheel in place by pulling the lock lever up firmly.

OUTSIDE MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH
Move the small switch to select the right or left side mirror. Adjust each mirror to the desired position using the large switch . To prevent accidentally moving the mirror, move the small switch to the center (neutral) position.

EMERGENCY CALL (SOS) BUTTON (if so equipped)

The Emergency Call (SOS) feature requires a

With a paid subscription, it can be used to call for assistance in case of emergency.

To use this feature, press the switch cover 1 to release, then press the SOS button on the overhead console.

HEATER AND AIR CONDITIONER (automatic) (if so equipped)
TEMPERATURE CONTROL DIAL / AUTO BUTTON Press the AUTO button to turn the system on, and the system will automatically control the inside temperature (automatic cooling and/or dehumidified heating), air ow distribution and fan speed. Turn the temperature control dial counterclockwise for cooler air or clockwise for warmer air.
FAN SPEED CONTROL DIAL / A/C BUTTON Press the A/C button to turn the air conditioner system on or off. This system helps cool and dehumidify the air inside the vehicle and defog the windows. Turn the fan speed control dial to manually control the fan speed.

AIR RECIRCULATION BUTTON

The air recirculation button is used to avoid outside odors.

Press the air recirculation button again to turn off.

The air recirculation mode cannot be activated when the climate control system is in the front defroster mode or the front defroster and foot vent mode .

REAR WINDOW AND OUTSIDE MIRRORS (if so equipped) DEFROSTER BUTTON

To defog/defrost the rear window glass and outside mirrors (if so equipped), push the rear window defroster switch . Push the switch again to manually turn the rear defroster off. This function automatically turns off after approximately 15 minutes.

MODE BUTTON

Press the MODE button to cycle through the following air flow outlets:

Air ows from the center and side vents.

Air ows from the center, side and foot outlets.

Air ows mainly from the foot outlets.

Air ows from the front defroster and foot outlets.

FRONT DEFROSTER BUTTON

Press the front defroster button. If it is difficult to defrost the windows, press the A/C button . This feature removes humidity from the air.

To set the front defroster on high, turn the fan speed control dial all the way up and turn the driver’s side temperature control dial all the way to the right.

ON·OFF BUTTON

Press the ON/OFF button to turn the climate controls on or off.

HEATED SEAT SWITCHES (if so equipped)

Press the driver’s or passenger’s heated seat button to control the heat.

Press the button once, twice or thrice to set level as desired.

HEADLIGHT CONTROL SWITCH
HEADLIGHT CONTROL
Turn the headlight control switch to the position to turn on the side marker, tail, license plate and instrument panel lights. Turn the switch to the position to turn on the headlights.

AUTOLIGHT SYSTEM

The autolight system will automatically turn the headlights on when it is dark and off when it is light. The system will keep the headlights on for a period of time after you turn the ignition off and all doors are closed.

To activate the autolight system, turn the headlight control switch to the AUTO

position then turn the ignition switch to ON. To deactivate the autolight

system, turn the headlight control switch to the OFF position,

HIGH BEAM SELECT

With the headlights ON (in the position), push the headlight control switch forward
to select the high beam function. The indicator light will illuminate in the instrument panel. Pull the headlight switch back to the original position to select the low beam. The indicator light will turn off.

HIGH BEAM ASSIST (if so equipped)

To activate the High Beam Assist system, turn the headlight switch to the AUTO position and push the lever forward . The High Beam Assist indicator light in the meter will illuminate while the headlights are turned on.

When the vehicle speed lowers to less than approximately 16 mph (25 km/h), the headlight uses the low beam.

To turn off the High Beam Assist system, turn the headlight switch to the position or select the low beam position by placing the lever in the
neutral position.

FOG LIGHT SWITCH (if so equipped)

To turn the fog lights on, turn the headlight

switch to the

Turn the switch (inside collar) to the OFF position to turn the fog lights off.

LANE CHANGE SIGNAL

Move the lever up or down until the turn signal begins to ash but the lever does not latch to signal a lane change. Hold the lever until the lane change is completed.

Choose the appropriate method to signal a lane change based on the road and traffic conditions.

WIPER AND WASHER SWITCH

Move the lever to one of the following

The vehicle information display is located above the steering wheel. Press the arrows on the steering wheel to change between different screens and the tachometer.

USING THE VEHICLE INFORMATION DISPLAY
The vehicle information display can be changed using the OK button and the or buttons
located on the steering wheel.
Press the buttons on the steering wheel to change the display mode.
Press the buttons on the steering wheel to navigate through the mode’s menu.
Press the OK button on the steering wheel to change or select an item.
Press the button on the steering wheel to go back to the previous menu.

RESETTING THE TRIP COMPUTER

Pushing the TRIP RESET switch for more than 1 second resets the currently displayed trip odometer to zero.

OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE DISPLAY
When the ignition switch is in the ON position, the outside air temperature will appear in the vehicle information display. If the outside air temperature is below 37°F (3°C), the outside temperature display will have a snowflake .

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) WITH EASY-FILL TIRE ALERT

The low tire pressure warning light and a Tire Pressure Low – Add Air warning will illuminate when one or more tires are low in pressure and air is needed.

Current tire pressure of all tires (except the spare) may be visible on the Tire Pressure screen in the vehicle information display when the vehicle is driven at speeds above 16 mph (25 km/h).

Adjust the tire pressure to the recommended tire pressure shown on the Tire and Loading Information label located in the driver’s door opening.

When the low tire pressure warning light

ashes for approximately 1 minute

and then remains on, the TPMS is not functioning properly. It is recommended

that you have the system checked by a NISSAN dealer.

EASY-FILL TIRE ALERT

When adding air to an under-in ated tire, the TPMS with Easy-Fill Tire Alert provides visual and audible signals outside of the vehicle to help you in ate the tire to the recommended COLD tire pressure.

To use the Easy-Fill Tire Alert:

1. Move the shift lever to the P (Park) position and apply the parking brake.

2. Place the ignition switch in the ON position. Do not start the engine.

3. Add air to the under-in ated tire, and within a few seconds, the hazard warning lights will start flashing.
4. When the designated tire pressure is reached, the horn will beep once and the hazard indicators will stop.
5. Repeat this procedure for any additional under-inflated tires.

FUEL-FILLER DOOR
The fuel-filler door is located on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
To open the fuel-filler door, pull the fuelfiller door release , located below the instrument panel to the left of the steering wheel.

To open the liftgate, first unlock the liftgate using one of the following methods:

· Push the liftgate request switch (if so equipped) .
Then push the liftgate release switch and pull the liftgate up.

SYSTEM UPDATES
Your vehicle software can be updated with over-the-air updates. If so equipped, when new software is available, a message will be shown. Choose one of the following prompts on the screen:
Yes – Triggers the Software update to start in the background. You can continue to use the system during the Software update. Later – Skips the Software update, the pop-up message is hidden and will be shown again in the next power cycle. You can trigger the software update manually in the event that “Later” was unintentionally pressed. To manually update the software to the latest version: 1. Press the MENU button on the control panel. 2. Touch “Info” and then touch “System Information” 3. Touch “Software Update” 4. Touch “Start Software Update” and then “Download” When the message appears, turn the vehicle off for at least 20 minutes. The update will be applied on the next power on cycle. Your vehicle software can also be updated through a secure Wi- Fi connection. Only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks are able to be connected. It is recommended that you have a strong signal strength. Connect your vehicle in a well-ventilated area to prevent exposure to hazardous fumes. To connect to your Wi-Fi network: 1. Press the MENU button on the control panel. 2. Touch “Connections”and then touch “Wi-Fi” 3. Touch the icon and then touch “Wi-Fi” to turn it on. 4. Touch , and then enter your Wi-Fi network name and password when
prompted. A message will appear under the network name when your vehicle is successfully connected. To manually update your software using Wi-Fi: 1. Press the MENU button on the control panel. 2. Touch “Info” and then touch “System Information” 3. Touch “Software Update”, “Start Software Update” and then touch “Download”

When the message appears, turn the vehicle off for at least 20 minutes. When the vehicle is restarted a message will appear verifying that the update is complete.

CLOCK SET/ADJUSTMENT
To adjust the time and the appearance of the clock on the display:
1. Press the MENU button on the control panel
2. Touch the Settings key on the Launch Bar.
3. Touch the “Clock” key. Select “Set the clock manually” to manually adjust the time displayed. Touch the key to return to the previous screen.

USB CONNECTION PORT INTERFACE
The USB connection port (USB Type-C/ USB Type-A) and AUX jack (if so equipped) are located beneath the climate controls. There are two additional USB connection ports in the console in front of the backseats.
When a compatible USB memory device or auxiliary device is plugged into the USB connection port (USB Type-C/USB Type-A) or AUX jack (if so equipped), compatible audio files stored on the device can be played through the vehicle’s audio system. The additional USB charging ports are for charging only.
For best results, it is recommended to use the manufacturer cables, which are sold separately. A USB Type-A to USB Type-C adapter (or vice versa) can also be purchased separately; however, results may vary.

BLUETOOTH® HANDS-FREE PHONE SYSTEM*
A cellular telephone should not be used while driving so full attention may be given to vehicle operation.
For information regarding connecting your cellular phone, refer to the connecting procedure within this guide.
SYSTEM OPERATING TIPS
Press the button on the steering wheel to interrupt the voice prompts at any time and speak a command after the tone.
To use the system faster, you may speak the second level commands with the main menu command on the main menu. For example, press the button on the steering wheel, and after the tone, say “redial”.
The “Help” command (if so equipped) can be used to hear a list of available commands at any time.
Reduce background noise as much as possible by closing windows and pointing the heater and air conditioner vents away from the ceiling.
Speak naturally without long pauses and without raising your voice.
To cancel a NISSAN Voice Recognition session, press and hold the or button on the steering wheel, or BACK on the control panel.
To decrease or increase the volume of the voice prompts, push the volume control switches or on the steering wheel or turn the VOLUME control knob on the control panel while the system is responding.
Voice commands can be used to operate various Bluetooth® system features using the NISSAN Voice Recognition System. See your NissanConnect® Owner’s Manual for detailed information.

Apple CarPlay® lets you use your compatible iPhone® to make calls, listen to music, send and receive messages, get directions and use iPhone apps directly from your vehicle display.
Connect your compatible iPhone to the USB connection port located beneath the climate controls. · Depending on the setting, the startup information screen will appear on the
center display. · Touch “Yes” then “OK” to use Apple CarPlay. · After the iPhone is connected, the Apple CarPlay home screen will appear,
and the iPhone functions displayed on the screen can be operated by the in- vehicle system. While connected to Apple CarPlay, Siri® operation can be accessed. There are two ways to start a Siri session: 1. Press and hold the button on the steering wheel.
2. Touch and hold the or key on the lower left corner of the Apple CarPlay screen.
Press the button on the steering wheel or touch the or key on the lower left corner of the Apple CarPlay screen to end the Siri session. Keep the interior of the vehicle as quiet as possible. Close the windows to eliminate the surrounding noises (traffic noises, vibration sounds, etc.) and point the heater and air conditioner vents away from the ceiling, which may prevent the system from recognizing the voice commands correctly. Some Siri functions may not be available during driving. For functions that can be used with Siri, please refer to the Apple® website. To exit the Apple CarPlay screen, press the MENU button on the launch bar. To return to the Apple CarPlay screen from the main menu: · Touch the Apple CarPlay key , or · Touch the Info key on the Launch Bar,

ANDROID AUTOTM

Android AutoTM connects with your compatible Android® phone to control your phone, apps and navigation directly from your vehicle display.

INITIAL SETUP Download the Android Auto app from the Google PlayTM store to your compatible Android phone.

Launch the app from your Android phone and follow the directions for setting up the application. Several permissions will need to be given to the app for Android Auto to fully function on your in-vehicle system.

USING ANDROID AUTO

To connect your Android phone to the in-vehicle system, you must connect a USB cable to the USB connection port located beneath the climate controls.

· Depending on the setting, the startup information screen will appear on the center display.

· Touch “Yes” then “OK” to use Android Auto.

· After the cellular phone is connected, the Android Auto home screen will appear and can be operated by the in-vehicle system.

When connected to Android Auto, Google AssistantTM operation can be accessed.

There are three ways to start Google AssistantTM:

1. Press and hold the button on the steering wheel until a beep is heard.

2. Touch the key on the launch bar.

3. Say “OK Google” (requires appropriate permissions enabled via cellular phone).

To return to the Android Auto home screen after operation, touch the key on the Launch Bar.

To exit the Android Auto screen, touch the key then touch the Nissan key.

To use the Wi-Fi connection for the first time, the following connecting procedures are required. 1. Touch Settings key on the Launch Bar. 2. Touch the “Connections” key. 3. Touch the “Wi-Fi” key . 4. Touch the name of the device you
wish to connect. 5. Enter a password and touch the “OK” key.
The device will be connected. The connected Wi-Fi device will be added to the list on the connection screen. If a listed device is in a status capable of making Wi-Fi connection, touching the device name on the list will start the connection. TO CHANGE THE WI-FI SETTINGS: 1. Touch the Settings key on

HANDS-FREE TEXT MESSAGING ASSISTANT*
This system allows for sending and receiving text messages through the vehicle’s interface. Using predefined or custom messages, send a text to an entry stored in your Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System. Once enabled, the text message, sender and delivery time are shown on the control panel display when the vehicle speed is less than 5 mph (8 km/h). Text messages have the option of being read aloud at all vehicle speeds. Many cellular phones may require special permission to enable text messaging. Check the cellular phone’s screen during Bluetooth® pairing. For some cellular phones, you may need to enable “Notifications” in the cellular phone’s Bluetooth® menu for text messages to appear on the touch-screen display. DRIVING FEATURES

ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE (if so equipped)
ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE
To apply the parking brake, pull the electronic parking brake switch up, located on the center console, behind the electronic shift lever. The electronic parking brake indicator light will illuminate.
To release the parking brake, and with the ignition switch in the ON position, depress the brake pedal and push the parking brake switch down. The electronic parking brake indicator light will turn off.
AUTOMATIC BRAKE HOLD (if so equipped)
Automatic brake hold function maintains the braking force without the driver having to depress the brake pedal when the vehicle is stopped at a traffic light or intersection.
With the ignition switch in the ON position, push the automatic brake hold switch to activate the automatic brake hold function. The indicator light will illuminate.
To use the automatic brake hold function, the following conditions need to be met:
· The driver’s seat belt is fastened.
· The electronic parking brake is released.
· The shift lever is not in the P (Park) position.
· The vehicle is not parked on a steep hill.
To cancel the automatic brake hold function push the automatic brake hold switch . To deactivate while the brake force has been maintained, depress the brake pedal and push the automatic brake hold switch .

The “Forward Driving Aids temporarily disabled Front Sensor blocked See Owner’s Manual” warning may illuminate if the front radar sensor is obstructed.
The warning light may illuminate and blink if the front camera sensor is obstructed.
Front sensor areas may become obstructed due to mud, dirt, snow, ice, and inclement weather (rain, fog, snow, etc).
If the warning message appears, stop the vehicle in a safe place, move the shift lever to the P (Park) position, and turn the engine off. Clean the sensor areas and restart the engine. If the message and light continue to appear after cleaning sensor areas, it may mean that forward driving aids are not functioning properly. It is recommended that you have the systems checked by a Nissan dealer.

BLIND SPOT WARNING (BSW) WITH REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT (RCTA)
An indicator light located near the outside mirrors will illuminate if the radar sensors detect a vehicle in the detection zone.
The BSW helps to alert the driver when another vehicle moves into the vehicle’s detection zone.
If the turn signal is turned on with a vehicle in the detection zone, there will be an audible alert and the indicator light will flash.
The indicator light will illuminate after the ignition switch is ON and the BSW is enabled. This indicates that the BSW is operational.
The RCTA system helps to alert the driver of an approaching vehicle when the driver is backing out of a parking space. The system operates when the shift lever is in the R (Reverse) position and the vehicle speed is less than approximately 5 mph (8 km/h). The BSW system can be enabled/disabled through the “Driver Assistance” menu in the vehicle information display.

DRIVING FEATURES
CRUISE CONTROL (if so equipped)
The cruise control system enables you to set a constant cruising speed once the vehicle has reached 25 mph (40 km/h). The system will automatically maintain the set speed until you tap the brake pedal, accelerate, cancel or turn off the system. To activate the cruise control, push the
Cruise ON/OFF switch on the steering wheel. The CRUISE indicator light will appear in the vehicle information display screen.
To set a cruising speed, accelerate the vehicle to the desired speed, push the SET- switch on the steering wheel and release. A indicator light in the instrument panel will illuminate, and the set speed will display next to the indicator light. Take your foot off the accelerator pedal. Your vehicle will maintain the set speed. To reset at a faster cruising speed, push and hold the RES+ switch on the steering wheel. When the vehicle attains the desired speed, release the switch. To reset at a slower cruising speed, push and hold the SET- switch on the steering wheel. Release the switch when the vehicle slows to the desired speed. To cancel the preset speed, tap the brake pedal or push the CANCEL switch on the steering wheel. To turn off cruise control, push the CANCEL switch on the steering wheel. The indicator light in the instrument panel will turn off.

INTELLIGENT CRUISE CONTROL (ICC) (if so equipped)
VEHICLE-TO-VEHICLE DISTANCE CONTROL MODE
To set vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode, push the ICC switch on the steering wheel. The ICC indicators will illuminate in the vehicle information display.
Accelerate to the desired speed.
Push the SET- switch on the steering wheel and release it. ICC will be set to the desired speed.
Push the switch on the steering wheel repeatedly to change the set distance between long, middle and short .

To reset at a faster cruising speed, push and hold the RES+ switch on the steering wheel. When the vehicle attains the desired speed, release the switch.
To reset at a slower cruising speed, push and hold the SET- switch on the steering wheel. Release the switch when the vehicle slows to the desired speed.
To cancel the preset speed, tap the brake pedal or push the CANCEL switch on the steering wheel.
To turn off ICC, push the ICC switch on the steering wheel. The ICC system indicator
in the instrument panel will turn off.
CONVENTIONAL (FIXED SPEED) CRUISE CONTROL MODE
To choose the conventional (fixed speed) cruise control mode, push the ICC switch for longer than approximately 1.5 seconds.

AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING (AEB) WITH PEDESTRIAN DETECTION SYSTEM
The AEB with Pedestrian Detection System can assist the driver when there is a risk of a forward collision with a vehicle ahead in the traveling lane or with a pedestrian.
The AEB with Pedestrian Detection System will function when your vehicle is driven at speeds above approximately 3 mph (5 km/h). For the pedestrian detection function, the AEB with Pedestrian Detection System operates at speeds between 6-37 mph (10-60 km/h).
If there is a risk of a forward collision with a vehicle, an audible tone will sound and the vehicle ahead detection indicator will illuminate. In addition, the system applies partial braking. If the driver does not take action, the AEB with Pedestrian Detection System will provide a second set of audible and visual warnings to the driver and then automatically apply harder braking.
If there is a risk of a forward collision with a pedestrian, an audible tone will sound and the AEB emergency warning indicator will
ash. Partial braking will be applied, followed by harder braking if the driver fails to react.
The AEB with Pedestrian Detection system can be enabled/ disabled through the “Driver Assistance” menu in the vehicle information display.

DRIVING FEATURES

VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL (VDC)
Always make sure VDC is on by ensuring the VDC OFF light is not on before driving the vehicle. The VDC should remain on when driving, except when freeing the vehicle if it is stuck in snow or mud.

HILL START ASSIST
The Hill Start Assist system allows time for the driver to release the brake pedal and apply the accelerator when the vehicle is parked on a hill. The brakes are applied automatically for 2 seconds after the driver releases the brake pedal.
The Hill Start Assist system will operate automatically under these conditions: · The shift lever is shifted into a forward or a reverse gear. · The vehicle is stopped completely on a hill by applying the brake. The Hill Start Assist system will not operate when the shift lever is in the N (Neutral) or P (Park) position or on a at and level road.

INTELLIGENT AROUND VIEW® MONITOR

With the ignition switch in the ON position, the Intelligent Around View® Monitor is activated by pressing the CAMERA button
, located on the control panel, or by moving the shift lever to the R (Reverse) position. The monitor displays various views of the position of the vehicle.

When the shift lever is in the P (Park), N (Neutral) or D (Drive) position and the CAMERA button is pressed, the following views will display in order:

The colored guide lines on the display screen indicate vehicle width and approximate distances to objects with reference to the vehicle body line.
· Red 1.5 ft (0.5 m) · Yellow 3 ft (1 m) · Green 7 ft (2 m) · Green 10 ft (3 m) (if so equipped)
For information regarding how to access additional viewing cycles, please see your Owner’s Manual.
There are some areas where the system will not detect objects.
· When in the front or the rear view display, an object below the bumper or on the ground may not be detected .
· When in the bird’s-eye view, a tall object near the seams of the camera detecting areas will not appear in the monitor.
· The distance between objects viewed on the Intelligent Around View® monitor differs from the actual distance.
Objects in the bird’s-eye view will appear farther than the actual distance.
MOVING OBJECT DETECTION (MOD) (if so equipped)
The MOD system helps inform the driver of moving objects around the vehicle.
The system will operate when the shift lever is in the P (Park), R (Reverse), N (Neutral) or D (Drive) position and the vehicle is driven at speeds of approximately 5 mph (8 km/h) or less. If the MOD system detects moving objects, a yellow frame will be displayed on the camera image and a chime will sound.

DRIVING FEATURES
When the following is displayed: · Blue MOD icon ; the system is active. · Gray MOD icon; the system is not active. · No MOD icon; the system is off. The indicator
will also be off if all of the warning systems are deactivated using the “Settings” menu. The MOD system will not operate if the liftgate is open.

REAR AUTOMATIC BRAKING (RAB)
The RAB system can assist the driver when the vehicle is backing up and approaching objects directly behind the vehicle.
The RAB system will function when the shift lever is in the R (Reverse) position and the vehicle speed is less than approximately 9 mph (15 km/h).
If a risk of a collision with an obstacle is detected when your vehicle is backing up, the RAB system warning light will ash in the vehicle information display (if so equipped) and the system will chime three times.
A red frame will appear in the center display (for vehicles equipped with the Around
View® Monitor system). The system will chime three times and the brakes will be applied automatically. The driver must depress the brake pedal to maintain brake pressure.
TURNING THE RAB SYSTEM ON/OFF
The RAB system can be turned on and off through the “Driver Assistance” section in the vehicle information display.
When the RAB system is turned off, the RAB system warning light illuminates.

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING (LDW)
The LDW system can help alert the driver when the vehicle is traveling too close to either the left or the right side of a traveling lane.
The system will operate when the vehicle is driven at speeds of approximately 37 mph (60 km/h) and above and only when the lane markings are clearly visible on the road.
When the vehicle approaches either the left or the right side of the traveling lane, the LDW system will chime and the orange LDW indicator on the instrument panel will blink and the steering wheel will vibrate to alert the driver.
TURNING THE LDW SYSTEM ON/OFF
The LDW system can be turned on and off through the “Driver Assistance” section in the vehicle information display.

REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT (RCTA)
· The RCTA system can help alert the driver of an approaching vehicle when the driver is backing out of a parking space.
· When the shift position is in R (Reverse) and the vehicle speed is less than · approximately 5 mph (8 km/h), the RCTA system is operational.
If the radar detects an approaching vehicle from either side, the system chimes (once) and the side indicator light ashes on the side the vehicle is
· approaching from. The RCTA system can be turned on or off through the Driver Assistance menu in the vehicle information display.
