NISSAN MAGNATE
QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE
WELCOME TO YOUR NEW NISSAN MAGNATE
This guide provides a quick reference to several useful features of your new
MAGNATE.
Note that some of these features are optional and may not apply to your
vehicle. For a complete description of all systems and features of your
vehicle, please refer to the vehicle’s Owner’s Manual.
ENJOY YOUR DRIVE!
TO GET BETTER FUEL ECONOMY
Measure fuel consumption after 3, 000 km of running in the period to get the
actual value.
Check your Tyre inflation pressure every two weeks.
Refer to Drive side door for recommended pressure sticker.
Use appropriate gear with respect to vehicle speed.
Refer to Note 1 on Page No. 9 for the Gear shift table.
Avoid unnecessary speeding & hard acceleration.
Do not rest a foot on the clutch & brake pedal while driving.
To get accurate Fuel Economy, Reset Avg. Fuel
The economy in Trip meter during refueling or every 200 km.
For the Manual Calculation method, Please refer to Note 2 on Page No. 9.
AC usage will take some load from Engine Power &result in higher fuel
consumption.
POINTS TO REMEMBER WHILE FUEL FILLING
During filling the fuel, always keep the engine in OFF condition for accurate reading of fuel in the tank.
TO GET THE BEST ACCELERATION
During sudden acceleration & overtaking, it is recommended to downshift the gears.
PROPER CLUTCH PEDAL OPERATION
Do not ride the clutch pedal: Do not keep your foot on Clutch Pedal. This will cause slippage, resulting in more fuel consumption & damage the clutch parts. Do not release the clutch pedal too quickly, it may result in engine stalling. The half clutch operation may lead to pedal vibration and reduce clutch life. Vehicles with Push Start Button ignition may not start if the clutch pedal is not pressed fully.
EFFECTIVE GEAR SHIFTING TIPS
Type 1
Type 2
- Don’t shift gears too quickly.
- Don’t use a half clutch for Gear shifting.
- To change Gears up/down, press the Clutch pedal fully while shifting & then release it slowly.
- Check the Clutch pedal free- play with all services.
For Reverse shifting (Type-2): Gear shift lever must be returned to Neutral
(N) position before shifting into Reverse (R). The Button-1 must be pressed up
while moving the shift lever into reverse.
Note: There can be Gear Grinding noise If Reverse gear shifted too quickly or
shifting happened at vehicle moving conditions.
TO GET QUICK AC COOLING
During outdoor parking in hot summer, Cabin temperature is generally hot.
Roll window halfway down after Ignition ON. Turn OFF AC–> Select Fresh Air
mode –> Set blower speed maximum.
After 2 minutes Roll up window –> Switch ON AC –> Select Recirculation mode –>
Set blower speed to comfort level.
TO REMOVE INTERNAL & EXTERNAL FOG
Internal Fog Removal:
Select Fresh Air mode –> Set desired
temperature (Minimum) –> Set Blower
speed to maximum –> AC ON –> Set
to Front Defogger mode –> Air vent towards side windows.
External Fog Removal:
Select Fresh Air mode –> Set desired
temperature (Maximum) –>Set Blower
speed to maximum –> AC OFF –> Set
to Front Defogger mode –> Air vent towards side windows.
SAFE BRAKING WITH ABS
VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL (VDC)
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) automatically controls brakes and engine torque to enhance the stability of the vehicle. During this activation, the VDC warning lamp will blink. By pressing this button . The driver can manually deactivate the Tracking Control System (TCS) function alone, to allow free wheel spin. This is helpful in situations like cars stuck in the snow, or other soft surfaces, or Of-Road driving. ABS and the emergency functions remain active regardless.
HILL START ASSIST (HSA)
Hill Start Assist (HSA) prevents rolling backward when starting off on a slope. Relieves the driver stress in uphill traffic driving conditions.
TO HAVE BETTER WIPER BLADE LIFE
Keep wiper blade in uplift position under long parking on both hot & cold
conditions.
Operate wiper only with water using washer fluid when it is not raining.
Wiping noise in heavy rain conditions is a common phenomenon.
SUNVISOR
To block glare from the front, swing down the sun visor towards the windshield and park it parallel to the windshield.
PARKING BRAKE USAGE
Applying Parking Brake: Pull the parking brake lever level fully (8~16
notches).
Releasing Parking Brake: Pull the parking brake lever slightly up, push the
button, lower the lever completely.
PARKING ON A SLOPE
Apply parking brake fully. When parking on “uphill” condition, put the vehicle in 1st gear. When parking in “downhill” condition, put the vehicle in Reverse gear.
KNOW YOUR COMPUTER

Current fuel consumption (km/l): This value is displayed after an approximate
speed of 30 km/h (20 mph) is reached. It calculates the instantaneous mileage
based on your driving pattern. Based on the display one can alter your driving
pattern for more economic driving.
Cruising Range or distance to empty (km): The Autonomy distance value is
calculated based on vehicle fuel consumption in the last 50 km and the amount
of current fuel remaining in the tank.
Distance traveled (km): Distance traveled since the last reset.
To reset: Press and hold the trip computer switch when the display is in
Distance traveled.
Average Speed (km/h): Average speed since last reset. The value is displayed
after driving 400 meters.
To reset: Press and hold the trip computer switch when the display is at

TEMPERATURE GAUGE
The engine temperature gauge on a cluster indicates high temperature under normal driving conditions –> This is not a concern, it’s working as per design intent. (5th BAR will be on when the temperature in the vehicle is 84 to 99 degrees Celcius (refer to table).
BAR | ENGINE TEMPERATURE IN DEGREE CELSIUS |
---|---|
124° | |
11C | |
6 | too° |
s | az.’ |
4 | 64° |
3 | 440 |
2 | 2e |
1 | 4° |
KNOW YOUR FUEL GAUGE
Digital Fuel Gauge: Indicates the fuel level in the fuel tank
capacity is 40 liters.
Low Fuel Warning: All 8 bars ON indicate that the tank is full. 1 bar ON
indicates the driver that the fuel level is low by alerting with a chime and
Low fuel indicator enables in TFT.
Note: For accurate indication, before killing it is recommended to switch off
ignition, wait for at least 15 seconds and I at least 5 liters of fuel.
Temperature gauge: ECT gauge –> Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT), the
temperature of engine coolant using 8 level bars. All 8 bars ON indicate the
temperature is high around 114 degrees Celcius. All 8 bars OFF indicates the
temperature is less than 6 degrees Celcius ECT gauge –> Engine Coolant
Temperature ( E C T ).
TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS)

HEADLIGHT FOG CONDENSATION
Fog may temporarily form inside the lens of the exterior lights during rain or during car wash and this is not a malfunction. A temperature difference between the inside & outside of the lens causes the fog.
TO HAVE BETTER VEHICLE DYNAMICS
Check wheel alignment at regular intervals.
Tire rotation should be done after every 10,000 km.
Correct wheel balancing at regular intervals which also minimize steering
vibrations.
Maintain proper tire pressure always.
All 4 tires are to be inflated to the same specified pressure.
Following the above points will avoid vehicle pulling, tire uneven wear & tire
noise. Vehicle pull will occur if the road surface is not lat.
TO EXPERIENCE GOOD SPEAKER QUALITY SOUND
Nissan recommends using BASE & TREBLE settings to “0”.
