INTRODUCTION
READ CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING THIS FIXTURE. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR
FUTURE REFERENCE. THE SLEDB-CL1B-MS-PA-24V MUST BE WIRED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE AND ALL APPLICABLE LOCAL CODES. PROPER GROUNDING IS
REQUIRED FOR SAFETY.
WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE ONLY A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN INSTALL, OPERATE AND
MAINTAIN THIS PRODUCT. IF YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED OR UNFAMILIAR WITH ANY ASPECT
OF THIS INSTRUCTION SHEET, CONSULT AN ELECTRICIAN. THERE ARE NO SERVICEABLE
PARTS INSIDE.
WARNING: MAKE SURE POWER IS TURNED OFF BEFORE STARTING THE INSTALLATION
OR PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE.
- RISK OF FIRE/ELECTRIC SHOCK – DISCONNECT POWER AT BREAKER BEFORE INSTALLING OR SERVICING.
- RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY – FIXTURE MAY BECOME UNSTABLE OR DAMAGED IF NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY.
- RISK OF BURN – ALLOW FIXTURE TO COOL BEFORE SERVICING.
MOUNTING
The SLEDB-CL1B-MS-PA-24V comes with a back plate with pre-drilled mounting holes drilled into the flange. This fixture can be mounted to any rigid, flat surface capable of supporting the load of the fixture. Mounting is best achieved by two people, since fixture is large and can be heavy and awkward to hold in position while mounting. Mark the hole locations where you wish to mount the light, pre-drill the holes to fit the hardware you will be using, then mount the fixture to the location using bolts, washers, and nuts in each of the mount holes. Mounting hardware is not provided, but can be ordered from Larson Electronics if needed.
POWER
We strongly encourage a licensed electrician install this product, in all
locations, especially in outdoor areas where weatherproofing may be required.
Warning: Check product label for correct input voltage!
Attach supply line wires to the appropriate light fixture wires as shown in
the diagram.
Secure each pair of wires according to the diagram. Utilize a junction box or
similar device and take precautionary steps for weatherproofing all
connections if installed in a location where water may come in contact with
the unit. Ensure the unit is properly grounded and that wiring is done
according to all local and national electrical/building codes.

MOTION SENSOR
Setting
By selecting the combination on the DIP switch, sensor data can be
precisely set for each specific application.
-
Detection Area
Detection area can be reduced by selecting the combination on the DIP switches to fit precisely each application. -
Hold Time
Refers to the time period the lamp remains at 100% illumination after no motion detected. -
Daylight Sensor
The sensor can be set to only allow the lamp to illuminate below a defined ambient brightness threshold. When set to Disable mode, the daylight sensor will switch on the lamp when motion is detected regardless of ambient light level. 30lux:twilight operation, 2lux, 10lux: darkness operation only
The SLEDB-CL1B-MS-PA-24V operates like a standard on/off light switch. The
circuit is normally open when no motion is present. Once motion is detected,
the internal switch changes to a closed circuit, allowing voltage to pass
through the sensor and power the device(s) at the other end.
The sensor is an active motion detector; it emits high-frequency
electromagnetic waves (5.8GHz) and receives their echo. The sensor detects the
change in echo from even the slightest movement in its detection zone. A
microprocessor then triggers the “switch light ON” command. Detection is
possible through doors, panes of glass or thin walls.
IMPORTANT: persons or objects moving towards the sensor are detected
best. NOTE: the high frequency of the output of this sensor is <10Mw – that is
just one 100th of the transmission power of a mobile phone or the output of a
microwave oven.
TROUBLESHOOTING
MOTION SENSOR LOCATION
This unit uses a microwave sensor, which is more reliable than the standard
PIR sensor. This sensor is enclosed in a waterproof box below the light. The
sensor DOES NOT need line of sight. The microwave sensor is capable of sensing
through the waterproof enclosure and detecting motion, which in turn activates
the light. Not seeing an external sensor may make you think that your unit is
missing the motion sensor. It is not. The sensor is included and will function
as intended.
MAINTENANCE
There are no serviceable parts inside the fixture. However, it is good practice to routinely clean and check the fixture for proper function.
- Disconnect power running to the lamp and be sure the fixture is cool to the touch.
- Use a non-abrasive glass cleaning solution to clean the lens.
Note: It is not necessary to open the fixture and clean or touch the LED’s.
