- Before using for the first time, the baking surfaces should be cleaned with a moist cloth.
- We recommend lightly greasing the baking surfaces when using for the first time. You may notice a slight smoking or odor after plugging in your new waffle maker.
- This is normal with appliances with heater and will not occur again later.
How to use
- Set up waffle maker on flat, firm counter top surface away from the edge and away from wall or rear of counter.
- Unwind power cord and plug into nearby outlet. The red indicator light up when you plug in. The red power light will remain on until you unplug your waffle.
- Set the Waffle Browning Control to your desired setting. Set between 1 & 2. You adjust it to be lower or higher according to your preference. A lower setting produces a softer waffle, while a higher setting makes a golden crisp waffle. Different waffle batters will also cook up differently. Over time, you will find your perfect setting for the batter you use.
- Lightly vegetable oil the both side of the baking surfaces. Repeat this only at the start of each day bake waffle.
- Close the lid cover and prepare batter while the machine is preheating.
- Pre-heat the unit, when the green light illuminates after about 4 to 6 minutes of this warming up time, meaning that the optimal temperature is reached. Now it’s ready to bake. The green light will cycle on and off as the unit maintains baking temperatures.
- Open the lid cover with caution using handle only as the baking surfaces and the housing surfaces become extremely hot.
- Ladle just enough batter to fill the lower grid so that the peak areas of the grid are covered. If necessary, use a spatula to spread the batter into the corners of the grid. At this point the green light will go off as the baking cycle begins.
- Close the lid cover. Do not open the waffle for at least 1 Y2 minutes. The baking time is vary between 1 1/2 – 2 minutes, depending on each recipe.
- Open the lid cover gently. Remove the waffle with a silicone or wooden utensil and, allow to cool on a wire rack. Do not use metal utensil, metal forks or knives to remove the cake since these will scratch and damage the non-stick coating.
- For best results for your next waffle, if the green light is not yet on, close the waffle and wait a few moments until the green light goes on again. Pour your batter and proceed again from Step #8.
- If you need to take a short break, close the waffle to maintain the heat. When you return to baking, you will notice that the first waffles will bake much faster because extra heat has been allowed to build up.
- If the waffle is leave to be served, just re-heat the waffle in the microwave oven on High (800 – 900w) for 10 -15 seconds.
- When finished baking, unplug the machine and allow to cool before moving or cleaning.
- The power cord can be wrapped around the storage tabs at the bottom of the unit.
Baking Tips
- When preparing your waffle batter, stir only until the large lumps disappear. Do not over-mix.
- When serving, flip the waffle over onto a plate with the bottom side up. When baking, gravity lets the bottom fill out completely, whereas there is not always enough rise for the batter to fill out the top half of the waffle grid.
- Serving bottom-side-up will make the waffle more attractive on the plate for serving.
- For a crispier waffle, you may want to use a cooling rack to let the waffles cool down and dry out a bit before serving.
Cleaning and care
- Before cleaning, remove the plug from the wall socket and wait until the appliance has cooled down with the baking plates open.
- Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions.
- Clean the outside of the appliance with a soft, slightly damp cloth only.
- The non-stick coating can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth or a soft brush.
