Thank you and congratulations for choosing HOMEMATE Mini Drip Coffee Maker. Please read this instruction manual carefully before using the product, as it contains important information that you may find helpful. Keep this instruction manual for future reference. Connection to the mains supply. The appliance should only be connected to an earthed socket and make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label.

Important Safety Instruction

  1. Before the appliance is used, the main body as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must not be used any longer: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
  2. The appliance must always be under supervision when in use.
  3. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  4. Do not use the appliance with wet hands, on a damp floor or when the appliance itself is wet.
  5. To protect against a risk of electric shock and personal injury, do not immerse cord plugs or coffee maker housing in water or other liquids.
  6. The appliance gets extremely hot when it’s boiling. Be careful of hot steam coming out from the appliance.
  7. Do not use the appliance with a damaged plug or cord. Contact an authorized service center for checking or replacement of the damaged part.
  8. When using the appliance; ensure that you use original accessories provided by the manufacturer.
  9. Donot use outdoors.
  10. Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface clear of any obstructions.
  11. Do not position or operate the appliance close to or underneath any wall-cupboards or hanging objects such as curtains or any inflammable materials.
  12.  Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
  13. Do not let the cord to hang over the edge of the table or counter, nor touch hot the parts of the appliance.
  14. When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.
  15. Always remove the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use and each time before it is cleaned.
  16. This appliance is not intended for use by any person (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  17. This appliance is intended for domestic use only and not for commercial applications.
  18. This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has, been used in accordance with the instruction, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorized person, or damaged through misuse.
  19. Do not move entire unit when carafe contains hot liquid.
  20. Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely. Detailed information on cleaning the appliance can be found in the section Cleaning and Maintenance.
  21. Keep the lid close while serving or brewing coffee.
  22. The container or the glass carafe is designed for use with this appliance. It must never be used ona range top.
  23. Do not place hot carafe on wet or cold surface.
  24. Do not use a carafe if it’s cracked or having a loose or weakened handle.
  25. Do not touch the warming plate when it is hot.
  26. Do not use carafe in microwave oven.
  27. Use only pure water when filling the water tank. Do not let the machine operate without water.

!!! Do not switch on the appliance when the tank is empty or the glass carafe was removed.

Preparation for Use

  • Please read these instructions carefully before use.
  • Unpack the coffee maker and remove all packaging. Retain the packaging for future use. Keep any packaging materials well away from children, as they are a potential source of danger e.g. from suffocation.
  • Please check your the appliance that all elements and accessories are present and undamaged.
  • Wipe the external surface of the appliance with a soft, damp cloth and clean all detachable parts such as funnel, filter basket, glass carafe etc. thoroughly with a soft cloth using a mild detergent (see in the section Cleaning and Maintenance).

Before First Use

  • Before making coffee for the first time, you should have the machine run through water only (without coffee and, filter basket).
  • Add water into water tank to the max level and brew water for several times without coffee, then discard the water.
  • Close the top cover, and insert the glass carafe in place onto the warming plate.
  • Connect the appliance with power source. Make sure the power switch must point to off “O” position before plug in.
  • Press power switch to the “I’ position, the indicator in it will be illuminated and the appliance will begin working.
  • Whenall the water has run down in the glass carafe. Turn the switch to the off “O” position and pour the water.

Operation

  1. Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface and flat surface.

  2. Open the top cover.

  3. Fill the water tank with cold drinking water.
    Note: Do not fill water tank with water to exceed max level as indicated on water gauge. The appliance can brew max 6 cups of coffee every brewing cycle.

  4. Place the funnel into funnel holder and make sure the funnel is assembled in place, and then put a filter into funnel correctly.

  5. Add proper coffee powder into filter basket. Usually a cup of coffee need a level spoon of coffee powder, but you may adjust according to personal taste.

  6. Then replace the top cover. Insert glass carafe with lid in place onto warming plate horizontally, ensure center line of carafe aligns with that of funnel.

  7. Connect the appliance with power source. Press power switch to the “I” position, the indicator in it will be illuminated and the appliance will begin working. The brewing process can be interrupted by pressing the switch to the”O” position at any time and the indicator in it will go off, indicating your coffee maker is off. Once the switch is pressed again to the “I” position, the appliance will continue to brew.
    Warning: Do not open the top lid during brewing process to avoid being scalded.
    Note: But it is better not to make the appliance stop working during brewing process.

  8. After a while, the coffee flows into the glass carafe from the coffee outlet. And the appliance will stop working and switch to keep-warm condition after finish brewing.
    Note: The appliance is designed with a pause-and-serve feature, if you wish, at any time during brewing cycle, you can temporarily remove carafe to pour and serve a cup of hot coffee. The brewing cycle will not be interrupted and no coffee will drip from the appliance, simply replace glass carafe onto warming plate to restart the brewing cycle, but do not remove glass carafe for longer than 30s, never return empty carafe onto warming plate when it is still warm.

  9. Remove carafe to serve when finish brewing.
    Caution: When pour coffee, the momentary inclined angle of carafe shall not be more than 45 degree from the vertical position, you shall pour the coffee slowly until the carafe is empty, otherwise the coffee in the carafe will rush to the bottom of carafe lid, and the coffee will flow out from two edges of lid and hurt person!
    Note: The coffee you get will be less than the water you have added as some water is absorbed by coffee powder.

  10. For an optimum coffee taste, serve it just after brewing.

  11. Always turn the coffee maker off and unplug the appliance when not in use.

Hints for Great-Tasting Coffee

  1. Aclean coffee maker is essential for making great-tasting coffee. Regular cleaning, as specified in “Cleaning and Maintenance’, is highly recommended.
  2. Always use fresh, cold water in your coffee maker.
  3. Finer grinds, such as drip coffee, promote fuller extraction and provide rich, full-bodied coffee. Regular grind will require slightly more coffee per cup to provide the strength of a finer grind.
  4. For optimum coffee, buy whole beans and grind them finely just before brewing.
  5. Store coffee in a cool, dry place. Once coffee has been opened, keep it tightly sealed in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
  6. Used coffee grounds cannot be reused.
  7. Clean the coffee maker when over-extraction causes oiliness. Small oil droplets on the surface of brewed, black coffee are due to the extraction of oil from the coffee powder.
  8. Oiliness may occur more frequently if heavily roasted coffees are used.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Be sure to unplug this appliance before cleaning and let the appliance cool down completely.

  2. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug or unit in water or liquid.

  3. Wipe external surface of product with a soft, damp cloth to remove stains. Wipe dry afterwards. Do not use abrasive cleaners to clean the coffee maker.

  4. Donot clean all detachable parts and the glass carafe in a dishwasher.

  5. Clean all detachable parts such as filter basket, funnel, glass carafe etc. after each use in warm water with mild detergent and a soft brush.
    Caution: Before cleaning the glass carafe ensure that it is already cool down completely.

  6. Water droplets may buildup in the area above the funnel and drip onto the product base during brewing. To control the dripping, wipe off the area with a clean, dry cloth after each use of the product.

  7. Replace all parts and keep for next use.

How to Clean the Interior (Removing Mineral Deposits)
To keep your coffee maker operating efficiently, periodically you should clean away the mineral deposits left by the water according to the water quality in your area and the use frequency, we recommend removing mineral deposits as follows:

  1. Fillthe tank, mix 1 tablespoon of vinegar with cold water into the water tank.
    Note: Do not fill water tank with water to exceed max level as indicated on the water tank.

  2. Insert glass carafe onto the warming plate.

  3. Make sure without coffee powder and filter basket are assembled in place.

  4. Switch on the appliance.

  5. After”brew” one-cup solution, switch off the appliance.

  6. Leave the solution stay for 15 minutes and repeat step 3-5.

  7. Switch on the appliance and run off the solution until the water tank is completely empty.

  8. Rinse by operating the appliance with water at least 3 times.

Caution:

  • Donot add any coffee and filter basket.
  • During removing mineral, ensure sufficient ventilation and do not inhale any vinegar vapours.
  • Do not pour removing mineral down enameled sinks.

Disposal
**** Do not dispose of old or defective appliances in domestic garbage; this should only be done through public collection points.
