HOMEMATE HOM-DONUT Donut Maker

Dear Customer,
Thank you and congratulations for choosing HOMEMATE Donut Maker. Before using
the appliance, please read the following instructions carefully. Connection to the mains supply. The appliance should only be connected to an earthed socket and make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label.

Important Safety Instruction

  1. Before the appliance is used, the main body as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must not be used any longer: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
  2. To prevent against electrical hazards, do not immerse cord, plug or the doughnut maker in water or other liquid. Warranty will not cover in case of electric shock, fire, injury etc.
  3. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, after appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner.
  4. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  5. Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
  6. Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by or near children.
  7. When operating, the non-stick plate surfaces and the lid become very hot. Open the lid using handles only.
  8. Unplug the appliance from electrical outlet as soon as you have finished using it and before cleaning it.
  9. Always remove the plug from the wall socket when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before cleaning and handling.
  10. Do not position or operate the appliance close to or underneath any wall-cupboards or hanging objects such as curtains or other inflammable materials.
  11. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces. Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface clear of any obstructions.
  12. Do not place the doughnut maker on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
  13. To disconnect, grasp plug and remove from outlet. Never unplug by pulling the cord.
  14. This appliance is not intended for use by any person (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  15. Do not use abrasive, harsh cleaning solutions or hard brushes for cleaning.
  16. Do not use outdoors.
  17. This appliance is for household use only and not for commercial applications.

Short Cord Instruction

  • A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a long extension cord.
  • Extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
  • The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
  • The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
  • Wind up or restore the power cord to the storage compartment only after the doughnut maker has cooled down completely.

Before First Use

  • Before using for the first time, the baking surfaces should be cleaned with a moist cloth. We recommend lightly greasing the baking surfaces when using for the first time.
  • You may notice a slight smoking or odor after plugging in your new doughnut maker. This is normal with many heating appliances and will not occur again.
  • As for the safe reason, the first doughnuts should not be eaten.
  • The ingredients such as butter, margarine, eggs, milk, etc. should be close to the same temperature. For this reason it is advisable to keep the ingredients at room temperature for some time before using them. This way you keep the dough from clogging and developing spots when making doughnut.

How to Use

  1. Set up doughnut maker on flat, firm countertop surface away from the edge and away from wall or rear of counter.
  2. Unwind power cord and plug into nearby outlet.
  3. Lightly oil the both side of the baking surfaces.
  4. Close the lid cover and prepare batter while the machine is preheating.
  5. The red indicator light up when you plug in. After about 5 minutes of this warming up time, the red light will go off, meaning that the optimal temperature is reached. Now it’s ready to bake.
  6. Open the lid cover with caution using handle only as the baking surfaces and the housing surfaces become extremely hot. Then use a measuring cup or spoon. Pour the batter in to bottom of the baking surfaces. Close the lid cover.
  7. The baking time is very between 2 – 3 minutes depending on each recipe.
  8. Open the lid cover. Remove the baked doughnut with a silicone or wooden utensil. Do not use metal utensil, metal forks or knives to remove the doughnut since these will scratch and damage the non-stick coating.
  9. For more doughnut repeat steps 6-8.
  10. If the doughnuts is leave to be served, just re-heat the doughnuts in the microwave oven on High (700 – 800 w) for 10 – 15 seconds.
  11. When finished baking, unplug the machine and allow to cool before moving or cleaning.
  12. The power cord can be wrapped around the storage tabs at the bottom of the unit.

Cleaning and Care

  • Before cleaning, remove the plug from the wall socket and wait until the appliance has cooled down with the baking plates open.
  • Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions.
  • Clean the outside of the appliance with a soft, slightly damp cloth only.
  • The non-stick coating can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth or a soft brush.
    To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.

Disposal
Do not dispose of old or defective appliances in domestic garbage;this should only be done through public collection points.
