BEFORE YOU START
Some Klipsch speakers have feet and other accessories that may need to be installed prior to use. Please refer to Diagrams 1, 2, 3 and 4 for installation.
ROOM PLACEMENT
- Left and Right Main Channel Speakers – For optimum performance, Klipsch Group Inc. (KGI) suggests placing your speakers 6 to 15 feet (18 to 4.6m) apart. They may also be toed-in slightly for better stereo imaging. The listening position should be about 1 to 1.5 times the distance separating the speakers. Refer to Figures 1 and 3 for connection and placement.
- Center Channel Speakers – Center channel speakers are designed to place dialogue and primary sounds so that they appear to come from the video screen. The speakers should therefore be placed as close to the screen as pOssible, preferably directly on top of or below the screen. Refer to Figures 1,2 and 3 for connection and placement.
- Rear Surround Channel Speakers – Klipsch WDST surround speakers should be placed approximately 2 feet above the listening position. Typically this will be about 5-7 feet above the floor. The surrOunds should be placed on the walls directly adjacent to the listening position. Another option would be on the wall behind the listening position. The final surround speaker placement depends on your room’s characteristics. They are designed to recreate the sense of space and ambience that many of today’s surround sound technologies provide. Refer to Figures 1,3 and 4 for connection and placement.
CONNECTION
Conventional Connection – Using 16-12 gauge speaker wire, connect the RED
“positive” (+) terminal of the LEFT speaker to the RED “positive” (+) terminal
of your amplifier’s LEFT channel. Connect the BLACK “negative” (-) terminal of
the LEFT speaker to the BLACK “negative” () terminal of your amplifier’s LEFT
channel.
Repeat this procedure for connecting all remaining speakers to the appropriate
amplifier channels. Refer to Fiqure 3. Make sure that no bare wires from any
of the Connections touch any other terminals as this could cause a short and
damage your equipment. Reference Premiere models RP-160M are equipped with
dual binding posts. If single wire connection is used, the terminal connecting
bar should remain in place. If Bi-wire or Biramp connection is used, the
terminal connecting bar must be removed. Please see your receiver’s manual for
further instructions.
Amplifier Requirements – Klipsch speakers are highly efficient and will operate easily on a wide variety of amplifiers. All Klipsch speakers are 8-ohm compatible and can be driven to very high levels with low distortion. Due to the high output levels Klipsch speakers are capable of reproducing, exercise caution with the volume control. Excessive volume over long periods can permanently damage your hearing. Overdriving your amplifier could also damage your speakers. Check with your dealer or amplifier manual to make sure your particular amplifier is best suited to your application. We want you listening for a lifetime.

Frequently Asked Questions
How well do the bookshelf speakers Klipsch RP-500M-II reproduce music?****
Bookshelf speakers can be used for more than just playing music. When watching movies and TV shows, a set of high-quality bookshelf speakers may provide vocal clarity and dynamics that are noticeably better than any TV’s built-in speakers. A centre speaker made expressly to mimic speech is also available with a variety of our speaker options.
Can you turn the Klipsch RP-500M-II bookcase speakers over?****
Yes. Although not ideal, bookshelf speakers can be placed on their side. As a result, sound quality can be affected. While not ideal, a horizontal position can be acceptable if your purpose is casual listening.
It is unknown how long the Klipsch RP-500M-II bookshelf speakers will last?****
The answers to these queries rely on the specific components of the speakers, the level of construction, and their unique traits. If you take care of your speakers, they should last between 10 and 20 years before needing to be replaced.
Are the front speakers functional?****
Although bookshelf speakers are capable of serving as front speakers in a home theatre sound system, a subwoofer is required for them to perform at their utmost (bass source). Bookshelf speakers only have two drivers in comparison to tower speakers, hence their bass range is constrained. Design and positioning are crucial for the best utilisation.
What happens if speakers are too near a wall?****
As contrast to too closely approaching a side wall, where the wall is now impacting and being seen by the speaker’s complete front driver assembly, approaching too near to a rear wall often only boosts the bass.
What applications can Klipsch RP-500M-II bookshelf speakers be used for?****
A table, shelf, or other elevated surface is the ideal spot to attach bookshelf speakers. The sound quality in small- to medium-sized venues will be improved by them.
How should my Klipsch RP-500M-II bookshelf speakers be maintained?****
For the optimum sound dispersion down the length of a rectangle-shaped room, the bookshelf speakers should be placed near to the far end. In order to reduce reflections, you should essentially leave as much room as you can between the front of the speakers and the wall they are facing.
Does adding speakers to bookcases enhance the sound?****
The fact that bookshelf speakers work best when mounted on a stand is not surprising. Using a correctly constructed loudspeaker stand, this elevates the tiny box speaker off of surfaces such as bookshelves, floors, and walls.
How effective are the centre channel bookshelf Klipsch RP-500M-II speakers?****
A bookshelf may be used as a centre speaker just as easily as a left or right speaker because the centre channel is practically the same as the left and right channels. The speaker would be standing straight in this scenario (true of most speakers).
When watching movies, how well do bookcase speakers perform?****
It is important to keep in mind that a bookshelf speaker can be rather tiny and practically replicate the entire frequency range. In a listening room, bookshelf speakers arranged in a 2.0 arrangement are typical.
What height should my Klipsch RP-500M-II bookshelf speakers be set at?****
Usually, bookshelf speakers should be positioned at or just above ear level. For optimal results, the tweeters should be placed close to ear level.
The wall-mounted Klipsch RP-500M-II bookshelf speakers are available?****
To improve their overall performance, bookshelf speakers should ideally be positioned two to three feet apart from the wall. The position where the air emitted through the ports can reach the surrounding area as quickly as possible is the optimal location for bookshelf speakers.
Do the bases come off?****
More so than for aesthetic appeal, the angled bases are there for acoustic benefits. When they are removed, vanity takes control.
How do these work on desktop computers?****
These speakers are incredible! They would, however, be too large and heavy for a desktop computer. They currently serve as my front speakers and deliver excellent quality.
When constructing a home theatre system, can these be used as the rear speakers?****
There will be top-notch surround speakers in the back. 37-year-old, immensely proud Klipsch dealer, World Wide Stereo.
