Introduction

In 1946, Paul W. Klipsch (PWK), a genius, lunatic, and maverick, created and handcrafted the renowned Klipschorn® speaker in a little tin shed in Hope, Arkansas, to allow people to, for the first time ever, experience the power, detail, and emotion of a live performance at home.

UNPACKING AND ASSEMBLY

PLACEMENT

The Klipschorn (AK6) has a fully enclosed low frequency horn and no longer has to be flush to the corner in order to operate properly. The Klipschorn can now be toed in or out to obtain the best imaging. The corner still serves as an extension of the low frequency horn, improving low frequency performance. For best results, Klipsch highly recommends the Klipschorn be placed in the proximity of a corner.

ABOUT YOUR KLIPSCH PURCHASE

Thank you for your purchase of Klipsch Heritage loudspeakers. After reading this manual and connecting your system, you will hear the result of over 70 years of stringent engineering and class-leading research and development. Like all Klipsch products, your loudspeakers feature Klipsch Horn-loaded Technology—the guiding design for the first Klipschorn® developed in 1946 and for every Klipsch product that has followed. Horn-loading allows your speakers to deliver very high sensitivity, wide dynamic range, low distortion, controlled dispersion and flat frequency response. This translates to unequaled power, detail and dynamics, the hallmarks of “The Klipsch Sound.” Again, thank you for choosing Klipsch and we hope that your speakers bring life to your music and movies for many years.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where were these produced?****

Hope Arkansas is home to the primary manufacturing facility.

Is Klipsch a high-end brand?****

For more than 50 years, Klipsch has been a leader in the high-end speaker industry, and its products are renowned for their excellent sound, high quality, and dependability.

Why are horns used by Klipsch?****

Horns can lessen audible distortion by increasing efficiency when used properly (Klipsch’s law). Additionally, they can focus the audio on the listener directly (controlled directivity) rather than waste energy dispersing sound around the entire space.

Do Klipsch corner horns still exist?****

Klipsch Heritage Klipschorn Speaker Pairs are handmade in Hope, Arkansas. The Klipschorn has mostly not altered since it was first introduced, making it the only speaker in the world to have been in continuous production for more than 65 years.

What is the sound of Klipsch speaker?****

Klipsch sound is loud, precise, and passionate, similar to the live concert experience. The Klipsch sound is recognizable to both casual music listeners and die-hard audiophiles. It sounds best when played on a stereo, 2-channel Hi-Fi system.

How come Klipsch speakers are so great?****

By creating a fully horn-loaded design for the Klipschhorn, which set new benchmarks for sensitivity, dynamic range, low distortion, smooth frequency response, and bass power, Klipsch was able to accomplish his goal.

Are native speakers proficient?****

Despite speaking a language with ease and fluidity (what we call fluency), a heritage speaker may not have fully mastered it.

What distinguishes a native speaker from a speaker with a legacy language?****

Most heritage speakers receive less language input than native speakers do. Instead of attending school, they often acquire Spanish from family members.

How far from the wall should Klipsch speakers be placed?****

About two and three feet far. The bass response will be more impacted by proximity to the wall. The frequency response is uneven and the bass boomy when the speaker is too close to the wall. Moving them around an inch or two at a time till it sounds best is basically the only option.

Should Klipsch speakers be broken in before use?****

Your speakers should be broken in after roughly 100 hours of use. The speaker’s surround and spider materials deteriorate when it is used more frequently. Not every speaker will sound noticeably different after being broken into. Some merely slightly advance, while others undergo significant alteration.

Are bilingual speakers of heritage?****

Heritage speakers are early bilinguals who acquired their second language (majority language) in childhood, either concurrently with the heritage language or after a brief period of predominate exposure to and usage of the minority language.

Like those learning a second language, are heritage speakers?****

In conclusion, phonology and pronunciation studies reveal that heritage speakers pronounce more like natives than L2 learners. Under typical speech conditions, the impression of native speakers and heritage speakers is the same.
