Switching On/Of A new AX3 LightDrop BTB needs a few seconds of charge to disable its shipping mode before it can be switched on.

Static Colors
With a special key combination, static colors can be set directly on the AX3 LightDrop BTB. There are 13 different colors/whites to choose from.
Power on the light. Then hold down the power button for 3 seconds until the light flashes blue. Release the button. Press the button shortly to cycle between the predefined colors. All previous STANDALONE settings are cleared to default and the INPUT SELECT is latched to STANDALONE. -
Connect BTB To to control your lights with the AsteraApp, first, connect a Bluetooth Bridge (BTB). It forwards the AsteraApp signal to paired lights. You may use an AsteraBox as BTB or choose a light with built-in BTB, like AX3-BTB, AX9, NYX Bulb, PixelBrick, Titan Tube BTB, and Helios Tube BTB.
Connect AsteraBox as BTB Please power on the AsteraBox. Connect the AsteraBox directly from the AsteraApp main menu by following the instructions there.
Connect light as BTB
Please note This ONLY works for Astera lights with built-in Bluetooth. For all other Astera lights, please use an AsteraBox as BTB.
Please power on the light. Hold down the power button for 3 seconds until the
light flashes blue. In the AsteraApp press „Manage Bluetooth Bridges“, then
“+” and follow instructions on the screen to connect.
The light which is connected as BTB shows a small blue Bluetooth Icon next to
the lamp icon in the app.

To disable the BTB again press UNBOUND BLUETOOTH in the AsteraApp.
- Pair with lights

3. AsteraBox - Reset
RESET to unlink CRMX and unbound Bluetooth. Set „Input Select“ to „AUTO“ and runtime to 5h. A reset is recommended before each use and is carried out as follows: hold the button, the light will first turn off, then back on again and it blinks blue. Keep holding the button until the blinking stops and the light comes on red again.

- Charging and battery status
The light main LED is double-used to display the battery status. Charge immediately when the battery is empty. Do not store the unit when the battery is empty. Charging time is approximately 7 hours.
If the light is powered off and connected to the charger, the main LED either shows the battery status or is dark to indicate that charging has finished and the battery is full.
If the light is powered on, press the button shortly and the main LED will show the battery- or charging status for two seconds.

9. Rigging
The AX3 LightDrop BTB has a 3/8“-16 UNC thread in the bracket and 3x M4
threads on the back for easy attachment of the eyebolts for the secondary
safety wire.
When hanging the AX3 LightDrop BTB it is to be secured with a safety wire and
carabiner, each able to hold at least 10kg. Make sure the light cannot drop
more than 20cm if the primary mounting fails. Optional mounting accessories

Bracket
The AX3 LightDrop BTB is fitted with a multi-purpose bracket. This is beneficial for use as an uplight but also for mounting it to a Manfrotto Super Clamp. The main thread of the bracket is a 3/8” 16 UNC. The threads for the brackets are 1/4” 20 UNC, so most camera accessories will fit. Even the bracket screws are equipped with a 1/4” 20 UNC thread at the outside. -
Tilting
Rotate the knurled screw for tilting the AX3 LightDrop BTB. -

In order to attach the diffusor, align the four wings with the four cutouts on the Lightdrop, push them into place, and twist to secure. In order to remove the diffusor, do the opposite, and pull out using the finger holes provided.
INTRODUCTION
The AX3 LightDrop BTB from ASTRA is a LED spotlight for professional use in
the event and film business. The AX3 LightDrop BTB is designed for direct or
indirect illumination of objects or sceneries. Due to its built-in, the
battery can be quickly set up at places where traditional lights cannot be
mounted easily. It can be used as a compact uplight as well as a hanging or
standing spotlight and inside translucent objects, truss, etc. The AX3
LightDrop BTB generates white or colored light and the color temperature can
be adjusted in many ways. The AX3 LightDrop BTB can be controlled with
AsteraApp or wireless CRMX. The device can also be controlled by the
integrated button or by infrared remote control. Thanks to its built-in
Bluetooth it can be used as BluetoothBridge (BTB).
The AX3 LightDrop BTB can be used standing or hanging. For this purpose, the
device is equipped with a magnet, a bracket, and 3 M4 threads. Its removable
bracket has a 3/8“ thread to attach the appropriate mounting accessories.
The AX3 LightDrop BTB can be used indoors and outdoors and has an IP65 rating
(only with the Charging Socket Cover (AX3-SP) in place).
Do not shake the device. Avoid brute force when installing or operating the
device.
When choosing the installation spot, please make sure that the device is not
exposed to extreme heat or dust. Avoid direct sunlight for a longer period of
time.
The specified ambient temperature must be maintained. Keep away from direct
insulation (particularly in cars) and heaters.
Never use the device during thunderstorms connected to the power mains.
Overvoltage could destroy the device. Always disconnect the device during
thunderstorms.
Make sure that the area below the installation place is blocked when rigging,
design,g, or servicing the fixture.
Always fix the fixture with an appropriate safety wire.
Operate the device only after having become familiarized with its functions.
Please consider that unauthorized modifications on the device are not allowed
due to safety reasons! If this device will be operated in any way different
from the one described in this manual, the product may suffer damages and void
the warranty. The disclaimer includes all damages, liability, or injury
resulting from failure to follow the instructions in this manual.
Furthermore, any other operation may lead to dangers like short-circuit,
burns, electric shock, crash, etc. This device is not for household use and is
not suitable for permanent installation.

This product is for professional use only. It is not for household use.
| • Do not operate the unit in areas of high-temperature conditions or under
direct sunlight. It may cause abnormal behavior or damage the product.
• Always use a suitable safety wire when mounting the light overhead.
• Connect the safety wire only to the intended safety mount.
• Always follow local safety requirements.
• Only authorized personnel may service the battery.
• Do not place in fire or heat.
• Do not use or charge the light if it is damaged.
• Avoid bumping or plunging, it may cause fire or explosion.
• Never store the battery when fully drained. Always recharge immediately when
empty. Please do not charge unattended.
• Make sure to fully charge all units before storing them.
• Partially charged batteries will lose capacity.
• Fully recharge every 6 months if not used.
• The battery may only be replaced with an original spare part from Astera.
• It is recommended to charge at a temperature between 15°C and 35°C.

CLEANING AND MAINTAINING
Caution: Liquids entering the housing of the device can cause a short circuit
and damage the electronics. Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents. Only
clean using a soft damp cloth.
SECONDARY SAFETY MOUNTING
The AX3-BTB must always be secured by a safety wire when used in a hanging
position. If the primary suspension fails, the device must not fall more than
20cm.
Use a Safety eyelet on the backside. Please check the safety regulations
in your region.
TROUBLESHOOTING
