VIESSMANN 7946564 Combustion Air Intake Adaptor Kit

Safety and Installation Requirements

Please ensure that these instructions are read and understood before starting any service work. Failure to comply with these instructions may cause product/property damage, severe personal injury and/or loss of life.

Working on the equipment
The installation, adjustment, service and maintenance of this product must be performed by a licensed professional heating contractor who is qualified and experienced in the installation, service, and maintenance of hot water boilers. There are no user serviceable parts on the boiler, burner or control.

• Ensure that main power to the equipment being serviced is off.
• Ensure that the main fuel supply valve to the boiler is closed.
• Take precautions to avoid accidental activation of power or fuel during service work.
• Do not perform service work on any component part without ensuring safe operation of the heating system. When replacing parts, use original Viessmann or Viessmann approved replacement parts.

Preparing the Boiler (CI2 399 to 1000)

1. Shut off and disconnect the boiler power supply.
2. Push back top panels to access the front panel release (top panel removal is not required).
3. Using a screwdriver push down on the front panel releases.
4. Pull forward at the top of the front panel and lift up to remove.

Removing the Air Intake Tube (CI2 750/1000)

1. For Vitocrossal 200 CI2 models 750/1000, remove burner air intake tube.

Routing the Flexible Air Intake Tube (CI2 399 to 1000)

1. Rute flexible combustion air intake tube under the right side of the boiler out the rear jacketing cut out.

Installing the Burner Adaptor (CI2 399 to 1000)

1. Apply sealing tape to the burner air inlet.
2. Mount the burner adapter to the burner and secure in place with a hose clamp.
3. Secure the flexible combustion air inlet tube to the burner adaptor with a hose clamp.

CI2 399/500

1. Mount the burner adapter to the flange at the base of the burner.
2. Secure in place with supplied hardware.
3. Secure the flexible combustion air inlet tube to the burner adaptor with a hose clamp.

CI2 750/1000

Installing the Retaining Bracket (CI2 399 to 1000)

1. Install the combustion air inlet bracket to the combustion air inlet restraint.
2. Using the supplied clamp, secure the flexible combustion air inlet tube to the rigid adaptor.
3. For the CI2 399/500 models only, install the reducing coupling to the rigid adaptor.
4. Secure the combustion air inlet brackets to the boiler.

Closing the Boiler (CI2 399 to 1000)

1. Place the bottom of the front panel on the front sill.
2. Push in the top of the front panel until you hear a click.
3. Pull back the top panels.

Preparing the Boiler (CI2 1500/2000)

1. Shut off and disconnect the boiler power supply.
2. Flip up the handle in the top panel.
3. Using the handle, pull straight up.
4. Using a screw driver, push in on the panel retaining clip while pulling up on the handle to remove the panel (the location is donated by an up arrow in the panel).
5. Using a screwdriver push down on the front panel release.
6. Pull forward at the top of the front panel and lift up to remove.

Removing the Burner Inlet Tube (CI2 1500/2000)

Remove burner inlet tube from 1000 MBH burners.
Note: the CI2 2000 is equipped with two 1000 MBH burners.

Removing the Retaining Panel (CI2 1500/2000)

1. Remove the screws from the front retaining panel.
2. Slide down front retaining panel to remove.

Positioning the Combustion Air Pan (CI2 1500/2000)

1. Remove front wheels and re-install upside down on frame rail for future use.
2. Remove adaptor collar from the combustion air intake pan.
3. Slide the combustion air intake pan underneath the boiler until it protrudes from the rear.
4. Re attached the adaptor collar to the combustion air intake pan.

Installing the Burner Adaptors (CI2 1500/2000)

For CI2 1500

1. Apply sealing tape to the top burner.
2. Mount the burner adapter to the burner and secure in place with a hose clamp.
3. Secure the flexible combustion air inlet tube to the burner adaptor with a hose clamp.
4. Mount the burner adapter to the flange at the base of the burner.
5. Secure in place with supplied hardware. Secure the flexible combustion air inlet tube to the burner adaptor with a hose clamp.

Note: for the CI2 2000, repeat steps 4 and 5 for the upper burner.

Connecting the Burners to the Combustion Air Intake Pan (CI2 1500/2000)

1. Connect the flexible combustion air inlet tube of each burner to the combustion air inlet pan.
2. Slide the front retaining panel into position..
3. Secure in place with screws.

Combustion Air Inlet Reducer (CI2 1500)

For CI2 1500 only
Install the combustion air inlet reducer to the combustion air pan, at the rear of the boiler.

Closing the Boiler

1. Place the bottom of the front panel on the front sill.
2. Push in the top of the front panel until you hear a click.
3. Lower the top front panel into position.
4. Flip down the top panel handle.
