Product Usage Instructions

Power Connection
Before using the shredder, ensure it is properly connected to a power source. Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.

Shredding Paper
To shred paper, follow these steps:

  1. Turn on the shredder using the power switch.
  2. Insert the paper to be shredded into the paper feed slot.
  3. The shredder will automatically start shredding the paper.
  4. If you have multiple sheets to shred, insert them one at a time to avoid overloading the shredder.

Overheat Protection
The shredder is equipped with overheat protection to prevent overheating during prolonged usage. If the shredder has been running continuously beyond the maximum running time and overheats, it will automatically shut off.

Solution:
If the shredder shuts off due to overheating, follow these steps:

  1. Switch off the shredder using the power switch.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Allow the shredder to cool down for at least 30 minutes.
  4. After the cooling period, you can resume normal operation by plugging in the power cord and turning on the shredder.

FAQ

  • What should I do if the shredder keeps overheating?
If the shredder repeatedly overheats, ensure that you are not exceeding the maximum running time and shredding capacity specified in the user manual. Also, check if there are any paper jams that might be causing the overheating. If the problem persists, contact customer support for further assistance.

  • Can I shred other materials besides paper?
No, the shredder is designed specifically for paper shredding. Attempting to shred other materials may damage the shredder and void the warranty.

Problem And solution

  1. Paper Jam/Overloaded:
Jam typically occurs due to over-feeding, miss-feeding, fast-feeding, and over-filled basket.

  2. Overfeeding: too much paper is fed into the shredder which is over the maximum capacity (ie. inserting unopened junk mail).

  3. Miss-feeding: papers are fed unevenly/crooked into the slot.

  4. Fast-feeding: new pile of paper is inserted before the machine is finished shredding the previous stack.

  5. Over-filled basket: End-user forgets to empty basket resulting shredded papers to get pulled back up above the blade.
Solution: Insert a filing folder or any rigid sheet of cardstock (examples: old greeting card or a couple index cards) directly into the center of the feed entry while applying force to help push the jammed paper through (see photo below)

  6. Overheat Protection: Some end-users may not be aware of the thermal overload protection to prevent from overheating.
Solution: In the event that the shredder has shred continuously beyond the maximum running time and overheating, the unit will automatically shut off. If this happens, switch the shredder off for 30 minutes or longer before resuming normal operation.

Properly seating the shredder unit

FIG-2

  • Make sure the head unit portion of the shredder is correctly seated onto the included wastebasket with the printed words and icons facing you. The head unit is particularly designed to only work with the integrated wastebasket.
  • Shredders are equipped with a safety interlock mechanism, which prevents the shredder from working when the head unit is lifted or removed, not correctly seated, or accidentally toppled over.
  • In regards to our recent models, located on the back center of the shredder, next to the power cord, is a “curved flap-like shape” that MUST FIT OVER THE OUTSIDE matching ridge of the wastebasket.
  • THE SHREDDER WILL NOT OPERATE UNLESS THE HEAD UNIT IS PROPERLY MOUNTED AS PICTURED!
