Product Usage Instructions
Connecting the Card Reader
- Insert the CFexpress memory card into the card slot of the CFexpress Card Reader.
- Connect the USB C end of the USB Data Cable to the CFexpress Card Reader.
- Connect the other end of the USB Data Cable to a USB 3.2 Gen2 10GB interface on your computer.
Reading and Writing Data
To read and write data from the CFexpress memory card using the CFexpress Card
Reader, follow these steps:
- Ensure that the CFexpress Card Reader is connected to your computer as mentioned in the previous section.
- If the card is not displayed correctly after connecting to the computer, follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the FAQ section below.
- To read data from the CFexpress memory card, open the file explorer on your computer and navigate to the CFexpress Card Reader.
- To write data to the CFexpress memory card, simply copy and paste or drag and drop the files from your computer to the CFexpress Card Reader.
- Remember to safely remove the CFexpress Card Reader from your computer before unplugging it to avoid data loss. You can do this by right-clicking on the CFexpress Card Reader icon in the system tray and selecting “Safely Remove Device”.
Formatting the CFexpress Card
To format the CFexpress card, follow the steps based on your operating system:
- Windows:
1. Open Computer Management and go to Disk Management.
2. Find the disk number of the CFexpress memory card.
3. Right-click on the CFexpress memory card and select “Format”.
4. Choose the desired file system format and click “OK” to start formatting.
5. Wait for the formatting process to complete.
- Mac OS:
1. Click on Finder, go to Programs, then Utilities, and open Disk Utility.
2. Select the CFexpress card disk to be formatted from the left sidebar.
3. Select the desired format and enter a label (name) for the disk.
4. Click on “Erase” to start formatting.
5. Wait for the formatting process to complete.

Q: Why is there only USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 speed when reading and writing?
A: Please check whether the upstream interface is a USB 3.2 Gen2 10GB interface. Theoretically, the read and write rate can reach up to 940MB/S. This product is backward compatible with USB3.0 and USB2.0 rates, please also pay attention to the transfer rate standard of the memory card used. -
Q: Why can’t the card be displayed correctly after connecting to the computer?
A: It is recommended to insert a memory card, and then connect the computer USB interface. In Disk Management, check whether the partition is initialized and formatted into the partition file system you need. -
Q: Why is there a failure to read and write data?
A: Please re-plug the connector and a memory card connection interface between the computer, and confirm the correct connection between the parts, to prevent poor contact. -
Q: How to format a CFexpress card?
Note: To avoid data loss, please back up the data in the card before formatting the CFexpress card.
A:- Windows: Open Computer Management-Disk Management, find the disk number of the memory card, right-click Format-select the format you want to use in the file system, and click OK to start formatting until completion.
- Mac OS: On the Apple desktop, click Finder-Programs-Utilities-Open Disk Utility. Select the CFexpress card disk to be formatted on the left, select the format tab you want to use, format and fill in the label (name of the disk), and click on the erase to start formatting to completion.
Note
- USB devices support hot-plugging, but you need to safely remove the device from the tray area of the system tray before unplugging the device to avoid data loss.
- Do not unplug the product while data is being read or written, to avoid data loss and damage to the memory card.
- This product is not compatible with some XQD memory cards.
