ND Filter Function
ND Filter reduces the amount of light entering the lens. By using it, the photographer can get better control of the shutter and aperture to achieve a special effect while the shutter speed will not overexpose.
ND Filter Shutter speed Conversion Chart
- For each stop of light blocked by the filter, the exposure time doubles in duration.
- If the exposure time is 1 second, then use ND2 [block 1 stop) = 1 second (original exposure time] X 22 seconds; use ND4 (block two stops) = 1 second (original exposure time) X 4 = 4 seconds, Exposure time = Original exposure time * ND value
