Safety Instructions

  • Before commissioning this device please read the instruction manual carefully.

  • Please keep these instructions, if possible, in the carton with inner packaging! The device is intended exclusively for private and not for commercial use!

  • Always remove the plug from the socket whenever the device is not in use, when attaching accessory parts, cleaning the device or whenever a disturbance occurs.

  • Switch off the device before. Pull on the plug, not on the cable.

  • In order to protect children from the dangers of electrical appliances, never leave them unsupervised with the device.
    Consequently, when selecting the location for your device, do so in such a way that children do not have access to the device.

  • Take care to ensure that the cable does not hang down.

  • Test the device and the cable regularly for damage. If there is the damage of any kind, the device should not be used.

  • Do not repair the device yourself, but take this to the nearest authorized service station.

  • Keep the device and the cable away from heat, direct sunlight, moisture, sharp edges, and such like.

  • Never use the device unsupervised! Switch off the device whenever you are not using it, even if this is only for a moment.

  • Do not use the device outdoors.

  • Under no circumstances must the device be placed in water or other liquid, or come into contact with such. Do not use the device with wet or moist hands.

  • Should the device become moist or wet, remove the mains plug from the socket immediately. Do not reach into the water.

  • Use the device only for the intended purpose.

  • The Appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system

Special safety notes

  • The baking surfaces get very hot. Touch the handles only.
  • Put the unit down onto a heat-resistant surface or mat.
  • In order to prevent heat from building up, do not put the unit directly underneath a cupboard. Ensure that there is enough space all around.
  • Beware of steam coming out when you open the baking section.
  • The bread can burn, so never use the sandwich toaster near or below curtains and other inflammable materials!
  • A risk of fire and electrical shock exists in all electrical appliances and may cause personal injury or death. Please follow all safety instructions.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
  • The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and know- edge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
    WARNING: Do not operate the Grill Toaster in the vertical position, this is for storage only!

Before using your appliance for the first time

  • Clean the plates using a damp sponge rinse and dry carefully.
  • After applying a fine coating oil to the plates, close the appliance and plug it in.
  • The indicator light will come on.
  • Notice: When your Grill Toaster is heated for the first time, it may emit slight smoke or odor. This is normal with many heating appliances. This does not affect the safety of your appliance.

Operating Instructions

  • Connect the appliance to an appropriate socket.
  • The red and green lights illuminate and the toasting surfaces heat up.
  • The appliance must be heated up before grilling. In the meantime prepare your food.
  • As soon as the appliance has heated up, the green light goes out.
  • You can now begin grilling.
  • Open the appliance at the catch.
  • Close the appliance, making sure that the catch is engaged.
  • Caution: If the foods have too much filling, it will not be possible to close the appliance. Take some of the fillings off. Never use force to close the appliance.
  • During toasting the temperature regulating thermostat switches off and on again. The control light also switches off and on again.
  • After completion of the grilling process (approx. 2-3 minutes) open the catch and remove the foods with the help of a flat wooden or plastic spatula. Never use sharp or metal objects (e.g. knives, metal spatulas, etc.) as this will damage the Teflon coating.
  • If you wish to grill move food, close the appliance again, and wait until the toasting surfaces have been reheated sufficiently.
  • When the control light illuminates again you can repeat the toasting process as described above.
  • After completion of the grilling process disconnect the mains plug immediately. With the appliance open allow it to cool down.

Caution:

  • The grilling surfaces as well as the sides and top of the appliance get very hot. Avoid any contact. The danger of burning! Only hold by the handle.
  • The appliance must always be positioned horizontally during use.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent, or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in any liquid.
  • The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
  • WARNING: Charcoal or similar combustible fuels must not be used with this appliance.

Cleaning

  • Before cleaning the appliance, unplug it and allow it to cool down.
  • Never place the appliance in water or under running water.
  • To clean the outside of the appliance, use a damp sponge and dry carefully.
  • To clean the plates, use a damp sponge with washing up liquid. Rinse and dry them with care.
  • If there is any batter backed onto the plate, we would advise using vegetable oil to soften it and waiting 5 minutes before removing it.
  • Never use a scouring pad or powder.
  • Do not place it in the dishwasher.
  • Remove and empty the drip tray after each use and wash the tray in warm, soapy water. Avoid the use of scouring pads or harsh detergents as they may damage the surface.
    Rinse and dry thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth and replace.

Storage

  • Wind the cord around the appliance and store the appliance vertically to save space.
  • Always unplug the device before storage.
  • Always make sure the device is cool and dry before stringing.

According to Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive, WEEE should be separately collected and treated. If at any time in the future you need to dispose of this product please do NOT dispose of this product with household waste. Please send this product to WEEE collecting points where available.
In order to fulfill ruling UNE EN-60335, we indicate that if the flexible wire is damaged, it can only be substituted by a technical service, as special tooling is required.
