Intended use
The product FAME Audio Studio CU2 USB condenser microphone was designed for
use as a microphone. The device may only be used for this purpose and in
accordance with the operating instructions. Other purposes as well as
operation under other operating conditions are expressly not intended and can
lead to damage to property or personal injury! No liability is assumed for
damage resulting from improper use.
It must be ensured that the device is operated exclusively by trained and
competent users who are in full possession of their mental, physical and
sensory abilities. The use of other persons is expressly only permitted at the
request of a person responsible for their safety, who instructs or supervises
the use.
Installation:
Be sure to check the unit for damage before use. Use the original packaging or
a suitable transport or storage packaging to protect the product from dust,
moisture, etc. when not in use.
Equipment and use:
This ½ diaphragm condenser microphone has a USB port and can therefore be
connected to your Mac or PC. It is a high-quality microphone with an
integrated audio interface, so no additional interface is required. Its
technical and sound features make the CU2 the ideal microphone for film
dubbing, voice-over, multimedia applications, and home studio music
productions. The driver architecture is already integrated into Windows and
OSX operating systems and no further installation is required.
Commissioning:
All connections of the device should be made before switching on. Only use
high-quality, undamaged and as short cables as possible for the connections.
Directional characteristics:
Microphones have one or more directional characteristics in order to achieve better sound recording results, depending on the application. Sound arriving at the basket and capsule from certain angles can be erased, attenuated or not influenced at all. How strong or weak these effects are depends on the microphone. The main characteristics are omnidirectional, eight and club, while the cardioid, wide cardioid, supercardioid and hypercardioid characteristics are mixed.
-
Example application 1: Ball
Since the omnidirectional characteristic has no extinctions due to the design of the microphone, sound from all directions can be picked up almost uniformly. -
Example application 2: Cardioid
Sound hitting the rear is extinguished/dampened by the cardioid characteristic. The focus here is on the direct signal.
FAME Audio Studio CU2 with cardioid characteristics:
The FAME Studio CU2 features a cardioid characteristic that effectively
cancels or attenuates sound coming from the rear (at 180° or below). This
microphone is ideal for voice, vocal, voice-over and instrument recordings
.

Troubleshooting
The following overview serves as an aid for quick troubleshooting. If you are unsure, contact the manufacturer, the dealer, or the corresponding specialist personnel
Symptom | Troubleshooting |
---|
No tone
| Check the USB cable for damage (cuts, extreme
kinks, etc.).
Check the wiring. Connectors must be fully inserted and snap into place!
Arm the microphone in the DAW or activate direct monitoring.
The microphone may need to be levelled. Refer to
the software manual of the DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) in question.
Delayed tone
| Change the buffer size in the DAW settings. The lower the number, the lower the latency. (Note: with a low buffer size, the machine requires higher
performance. Depending on the computer, this can lead to higher performance losses).
