Intended use
The keymaXX SP-13 is a digital home keyboard, designed to play sounds on the
keyboard and make them audible through built-in speakers or headphones.
Improper use of the product is considered improper and can lead to personal
injury or property damage. No liability is assumed for damage resulting from
improper use. It must be ensured that the device is operated exclusively by
trained and competent users who are in full possession of their mental,
physical and sensory abilities. The use by other persons is only permit-ted
under the supervision or guidance of a person responsible for their safety.
Important safety instructions! Please read before connection!
CAUTION! (Electro Magnetic Interference)
The normal function of the product may be disturbed by Strong Electro Magnetic
Interference. If so, simply reset the product to resume normal operation by
following the owner‘s manual. In case the function could not resume, please
use the product in other location.
DANGER! (For babies and children)
Dispose of or store any packaging material properly! Packaging material must
be kept out of the reach of babies and children due to the danger of
suffocation.
Make sure that children never use the device unattended! In addition, make
sure that children do not remove (small) parts from the device, as they could
suffocate by swallowing parts!
DANGER! (Electric shock due to high voltages in the device)
The housing must not be removed! There are no parts to be maintained in the
device. Inside the unit there are components which are under high electrical
voltage. Before each use, check the device for damage or the absence of
components, protective devices or housing parts. If this is the case, do not
use the device! Leave maintenance and repair work to a qualified service
workshop or contact your dealer.
DANGER! (Electric shock due to short circuit)
Modifications to the power cord or plug are prohibited. If the power cord is
dama- ged, it must be replaced immediately with an original spare part from
the manufacturer. Failure to do so may result in fire or death due to electric
shock!
WARNING! (Damage to hearing)
The unit may generate volumes that may cause temporary or permanent hearing-
loss. Over time, even seemingly uncritical levels can cause hearing damage.
Reduce the volume immediately if ear noise or hearing loss occurs. If this is
not possible, keep a greater distance or use adequate hearing protection.
Hint! (Fire hazard due to overheating)
The maximum permissible ambient temperature of this device is 40°C. Ensure
that the unit is placed in a place with adequate ventilation, out of the reach
of direct heat sources, naked flames and combustible materials and liquids.
The ventilation slots of the device must not be taped or covered.
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
THE FCC REGULATION WARNING (for USA)
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class
B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are
designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interfe- rence in a
residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate
radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the
instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However,
there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular
installation.
Symbols on device and packaging:
- The lightning flash symbol warns the user about non-insulated current and the risk of electrocution
- The exclamation mark symbol warns the user about important maintenance and operating instructions in the manual

Cleaning:
A regular cleaning of the device from impurities and dust increases the
durability of the product. Always disconnect the device from the power supply
before cleaning it! Never clean the appliance wet! Optical lenses should be
cleaned with a dry microfiber cloth to optimize light output. Ventilation
grilles and openings should always be cleaned of dust and dirt. Suitable
compressed air sprays are recommended for this application.
Environmental Protection:

of packaging to a minimum. The use of environmentally friendly and recyclable
materials is of fundamental importan- ce to us. Please recycle the packaging
components after use.
Disposal of packaging:
Ensure that paper packaging, plastic material, etc. are recycled separately.
Observe the labels and the corresponding regulations.
Disposal of batteries
Batteries do not belong in the garbage! Please dispose of batteries in
accordance with official regulations at collection points or disposal
stations.
Disposal of your old device
Do not dispose of the device with household waste! This device is subject to
the WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) in its
currently valid version.
The device is to be disposed of by an approved disposal company or your local
waste disposal service. The regulations applicable in your country must be
obser- ved!

KEYBOARD STAND ASSEMBLY (for optional stand & pedal unit)
- Be careful not to confuse any of the parts, and be sure to install all parts in the correct direction. Please assemble according to the sequence given below.
- Use only the screws provided when assembling the stand. Use of any other screws may result in an inadequate assembly that may cause damage to both the keyboard stand and the pedal unit.
- Always use the pedal unit properly installed on the specified keyboard stand. Also make sure to unplug the pedal cord when putting the instrument on a desk or table, since leaving it connected can damage the pedal unit.
- Protect the floor by placing a mat or area rug underneath the pedals. The pedals may damage the floor after an extended period oftime.
- Make sure the stand is sturdy and safe, and all screws have been tight and firm before use. lf not, the stand may overturn, the keyboard may drop, or may result in injury to the user.
- To disassemble, reverse the assembly sequence given below.
- Attach one L-shaped bracket to each side panel at the pre-drilled position with 3 small screws.
- Attach middle panel A with L-shaped brackets to side panels B & C. Use the pre-drilled holes to position the brackets.
- Attach pedal unit D to side panles B & C with 2 long screws on each side.
PIANO ASSEMBLY
- Place keyboard on the stand and secure it to the brackets with 2 screws on each side
- Insert the music rest into the top slots of the piano
- Connect the pedal unit connector to the PEDAL UNIT socket at the rear of the piano
- Connect the supplied mains lead or power supply to the power socket at the rear of the piano
- Adjust the screw located in the middle of the pedal unit to your floor level
OPERATION
POWER ON/OFF
- Connect the AC power adaptor to the DC IN jack.
- Plug the AC power adaptor into an AC outlet.
- Flip the (Standby/On) switch to turn on the power.
The power lamp lights up.To turn off the power, flip this switch again.
VOLUME CONTROL
When you start playing, use the [MASTER VOLUME] slider to adjust the volume of
the entire keyboard sound.
To select any of the other voices press and hold the [FUNCTION] button and press the [+] or [-] keys (B1 & Cl). To select other voices, you can press and hold down the [FUNCTION] button and press the numerical keys which you can find from the key of C until D.
TOUCH
This Digital Piano has 3 different touch presets. To adjust the key touch to
your preference press and and hold the [FUCNTION] button and press the [TOUCH]
key D1. Repeat the above step to change to the next touch preset.
USING THE METRONOME
The metronome is convenient for practicing with an accurate tempo.
- While holding down the [FUNCTION] button, press the B6 key [METRONOME] to start the metronome.
- Repeat the above process to stop the metronome.
- There are four different beats available for selection from 1/4 to 4/4 which can be accessed from keys E3 to A3.
ADJUSTING THE TEMPO
The metronome’s tempo can be adjusted from 30bpm to 240bpm. By default it is
set to 120bpm (beats per minute). After switching on the metronome, the tempo
can be adjusted by holding down the [FUNCTION] button and then choosing your
tempo speed from the numerical keys (which can be found from middle C).
USING DIGITAL EFFECTS
This Digital piano has 2 different DSP effects to simulate reverb and chorus.
lf you want to switch the reverb on or off press and hold the [FUNCTION]
button together with the B7 or C8 key. B7 will switch the reverb off, C8 will
turn it back on. To turn the chorus effect on or off press and hold the
[FUNCTION] button together with the G7 or A7 keys. G7 will switch the chorus
effect off. Press A7 to switch it on.
USING TRANSPOSE
This Digital Piano comes complete with a transpose-/+ function. If you wish
to adjust the transpose level, press and hold the {FUNCTION} button together
with either the E of the F key (E to lower pitch and F to raise it). The
transpose function works up to -6/+6.
DEMO SONG
lf you want to listen to the demo song, press and hold [FUNCTION] and press
the F7 key. To stop the demo song use the E7 key while holding the [FUNCTION]
button.
USING THE SUSTAIN PEDAL
To use the included sustain pedal CSP-005 simply plug it into the [SUSTAIN]
socket at the back of your digital piano. Should the sustain effect be
reversed, please flip the switch on the side of the sustain pedal.
The sustain pedal works in the same way as a damper pedal on an acoustic
piano. Also the optional piano style foot pedal Chase CSP-001 can be connected
to the [SUSTAIN] socket.
USING THE 3- PEDAL-UNIT (optional}
This Digital Piano has the facility to plug in the optional 3 pedal unit
LP-65. After assembling the 3 pedal unit LP-65, plug the pedal connector jack
into the [PEDAL UNIT] socket at the rear of the piano.
MP3 USB MEDIA PLAVER AND RECORDER
This Digital Piano is equipped with a USB MP3 media player and recorder. You can use the media player and recorder with a standard formatted USB pen drive with a size of up to 8GB (pen drive not included). lf you want to playback your favourite songs on the Digital piano, use your computer to copy the MP3 files onto the pen drive. Insert your USB pen drive into the USB jack socket located at the right side of the front panel on your digital piano. The music playback will automatically start if there is music already loaded onto the drive.
- You can record as many tracks as you like.
- Please unplug the USB pen drive when you have finished playing the piano.
USB MIDI INTERFACE
Many digital musical instruments support the MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface). With this technology, the instrument can communicate with a connected computer transmitting/receiving the MIDI data, including keyboard performance information and Song playback data. When connecting the computer to the USB TO HOST terminal, make sure to observe the following points. Failing to do so risks freezing the computer and corrupting or losing the data. lf the computer or the instrument freezes, restart the application software or the computer OS, or turn the power to the instrument off then on again.
NOTICE
- Use an AB type USB cable of less than 3 meters. USB 3.0 cables cannot be used.
- Before connecting the computer to the USB TO HOST terminal, exit from any power-saving mode ofthe computer (such as suspend, sleep, standby).
- Before turning on the power to the instrument, connect the computer to the USB TO HOST terminal.
- While the computer is connected to the instrument, you should wait for six seconds or more between these operations: (1) when turning the power of the instrument off then on again, or (2) when alternately connecting/disconnecting the USB cable.

Playing Back Songs on a Computer via the Instrument Sounds
With the use of MIDI file playback software on your computer, you can play
back Songs (MIDI files) via the sounds of the connected instrument. For
detailed instructions, refer to the manual of your particular MIDI file
playback software.
Recording Your Keyboard Performance to a Computer
By using Music Production software on the computer, you can record your
keyboard performance as MIDI data. For detailed instructions, refer to the
manual of the application.
