General Data/Electrical Data
The RP16 requires a line voltage of 208/230 volts at 1 phase and 60 Hz. The maximum overcurrent protection amps and minimum circuit ampacity are as follows

  • RP1624AJ – 30 amps / 20 amps
  • RP1636AJ – 40 amps / 25 amps
  • RP1648AJ – 50 amps / 31 amps
  • RP1660AJ – 60 amps / 38 amps

Weighted Sound Power
The RP16 is equipped with accessories such as a compressor crankcase heater, compressor hard start kit, compressor sound cover, high pressure control, low ambient control, and low pressure control. The weighted sound power level for each model is as follows

  • RP1648A – 74 dBa
  • RP1660A – 75 dBa

  4. Install the RP16 according to the clearances specified in the unit dimensions section of the user manual. Follow all local building codes and regulations during installation.
  5. Connect the control wiring as per the instructions provided in the control wiring section of the user manual. Ensure proper connections and secure wiring.

Application Guidelines

  1. Intended for outdoor installation with free air inlet and outlet. Outdoor fan external static pressure available is less than 0.01 -in. wc.
  2. Minimum outdoor operation air temperature for cooling mode without low-ambient operation accessory is 55°F (12.8°C)
  3. Maximum outdoor operating air temperature is 125°F (51.7°C).
  4. For reliable operation, unit should be level in all horizontal planes.
  5. Use only copper wire for electric connections at unit. Aluminum and clad aluminum are not acceptable for the type of connector provided.
  6. Do not apply capillary tube indoor coils to these units.
  7. Factory – supplied filter drier must be installed.

Notes**

  1. Do not exceed 200 ft linear line length.
  2. *Do not exceed 100 ft vertical separation if outdoor unit is above indoor unit.
  3. **3/4″ suction line should only be used for 1.5 ton systems if outdoor unit is below or at same level as indoor to assure proper oil return.
  4. Always use the smallest liquid line allowable to minimize refrigerant charge.
