EGR SUP571 Hood Deflector
Product Information
The SUP571 is a Hood Deflector designed for use on vehicles. It helps to deflect wind, bugs, and debris away from the hood of the vehicle, protecting it from potential damage. The Hood Deflector is made in the USA and comes with installation instructions.
Product Usage Instructions
- Clean the hood of the vehicle using soap and water. Dry thoroughly.
- Trial fit the Hood Deflector centrally onto the hood. Use a non-permanent marker to mark the positions of the two center slots and the four outer holes in the Hood Deflector.
- Remove the Hood Deflector and clean the hood lip using a clean dry cloth and soap and water.
- Adhere to the medium abrasive-resistant tape strips over the hood lip. Apply the tape so that approximately half of each strip is adhered to the top side and half is adhered to the underside of the hood.
- Install the two Fixed Clips by aligning them with the previously marked holes in the hood. Insert the Screw Plugs through the rectangular holes of the Fixed Clips into the hood. While pushing the Screw Plug down against the Fixed Clip, insert the two self-tapping screws into the Screw Plugs. Put the hood seal back into position.
- Loosely secure the Hood Deflector to the top of the Fixed Clips using fiber washers and small screws. Ensure that the Hood Deflector is centralized on the hood, then fully tighten the screws.
- Clean the hood lip again using soap and water. Adhere to the medium abrasive-resistant tape strips over the hood lip as done in step 4.
- Slide the four metal Push-on clips over the abrasive-resistant tape on the hood edge at the four previously marked outer positions.
- Secure the Hood Deflector further by installing the Metal Wing Clips using fiber washers and small screws.
- Clean the top of the hood underneath each yellow location sticker using the alcohol wipe provided.
- Allow the hood to dry and then peel the adhesive backing from the bumps. Adhere the six bumps to the hood directly underneath each sticker as shown in the image.
- Peel off and discard the six yellow bumps on location stickers when complete.
Note: It is important to ensure that the clips rest over the abrasive-
resistant tape and do not come in contact with the hood paintwork to avoid
permanent paint damage. No power tools are required for the installation
process.
Cleaning Notes: To clean the Hood Deflector and hood, use soap and water.
Wipe off any residue with a dry clean cloth. The Hood Deflector should be
cleaned periodically to maintain its appearance and functionality.
