Your device

Getting Started

  1. Your new tablet is partially charged. Charge the battery by using the USB cable and charger provided.

  2. Open the slot and insert the SIM card and SD card.
    Note: microSDTM cards are sold separately.

Home screen

You can bring all of the items (applications, Widgets, folders) that you use most frequently to your Home screen for quick access.
Tapping the Home button always takes you back to the main Home screen.
Status bar

  • Status/Notification indicators
  • Drag down to open the notification panel.

Favorite applications tray

  • Tap to enter the application.
  • Long press to move or change applications.

The Home screen is provided in an extended format to allow more space for adding application icons, widgets etc. Swipe left and right on the Home screen to view the extended screens.
Status bar
In the status bar, you can see the notifications on the left side and the connection service status on the right side.
Swipe downward from the Status bar to access the Notification panel or the Quick Settings panel. To close the panel, touch and drag upward.

Notification panel

Tap on the notification to view it in the app.
Tap to clear all event-based notifications. On-going notifications will remain on the panel.
Quick settings panel
Swipe down from the status bar twice to open the Quick settings panel. Then enable or disable functions or change modes by tapping the icons.
Tap to access the full Settings menu, where you can manage other items.

Phone call

Placing a call
You can easily place a call using the Phone application. Touch the Phone icon on your Favourites Tray.
Call screen
Enter the desired number from the dial pad directly and touch to place the call or select a contact from Favorites or Contacts by touching tabs, then make the call

Dial pad
Enter the desired number from the dial pad and touch the Call icon to place the call. If you make a mistake, you can delete the incorrect digits by touching the Delete button **X**.

Answering or rejecting a call
When you receive a call:
Slide up the icon to answer;
Slide down the icon to reject;
Touch   to reject the call by sending a preset message.
To mute the ringtone volume of an incoming call, press the Volume Up/Down key
Call history
You can access your call history by touching the Recents tab from the Call, screen to view missed calls, outgoing calls, and incoming calls.

Contacts

Contacts are stored in your tablet with the Contacts app.
Add, edit, or delete contacts on your tablet and synchronize them with the contacts in other accounts that support contact syncing.
You can also import or export your contacts from different locations such as external storage, email, or another account.
Adding a contact
Open Contacts from the applications list, then tap on the bottom right of the screen to add a new contact.
Synchronizing contacts in multiple accounts
Contacts, data or other information can be synchronized from multiple accounts, depending on the applications installed on your tablet.

Messaging

This tablet comes with a pre-installed Messaging app that allows you to send and receive SMS (Short Message Service) or MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) with your wireless service provider.
To open your Messaging app, go to the Home screen and touch the Messaging icon in the Favourites tray or from the application list.
To check messages stored in your SIM card, touch the button from the Messaging screen, then touch Settings > Advanced > SIM card messages.
Write message
On the Messaging app screen, touch in the bottom right of the screen to begin.

  • Touch to see the whole message thread.

  • Touch and hold to activate delete mode.

  • Touch to create a new message.

Sending a text message
Enter the mobile phone number of the recipient in the “To” bar and touch the Text message bar to enter the text of the message. Touch the Smiley Face button to insert emoticons. When finished, touch the Send button to send the text message.
An SMS of more than 160 characters (Actually maybe a little less than 160) will be charged as several SMS. Specific letters (accent) will also increase the size of the SMS. This may cause multiple SMS to be sent to your recipient.
Sending a multimedia message
MMS enables you to send video clips, images, photos, animations and sounds to other compatible phones and email addresses. An SMS will be converted to MMS automatically when media files (images, videos, audio, documents, etc.) are attached.

Gmail

Gmail is a Google web-based email service. When you first set up your tablet, it is automatically synchronized with your Google account. Use Gmail to create, send, and receive emails directly on your tablet. The Gmail app will allow you to add several email accounts.
To open Gmail
From the Home screen, tap Gmail in the Google folder. Gmail displays messages and conversations from one single Gmail account at a time. If you own additional email accounts, you can add an account by tapping **Menu > Settings

Add account.** Switch to another account by tapping the icon in the top right corner, then select the name of the account you want to view.
To create and send emails

1. Tap from the Inbox screen.
2. Enter the recipient(s)’s email address in the “To” field.
3. If necessary, tap to copy (CC) or blind copy (BCC) a recipient to the message.
4. Enter the subject and the content of the message.
5. Tap an icon and select Attach file to add an attachment.
6. Tap to send.

If you do not want to send the email right away, tap > Save draft. To view the draft later, tap Menu ****and select the Drafts folder.

Getting connected

To connect to the Internet with this tablet, you will need to have an internet connection via a Cellular Data provider or via Wi-Fi.
Cellular Data
The first time you turn on your tablet with your SIM card inserted, it will automatically configure your network service: 2G, 3G. 4G To check the network connection you are using, touch Settings > SIM card & Cellular network > Cellular network, and touch Access Point Names. Your network service connection is also displayed on the Status bar.
Wi-Fi

To turn Wi-Fi on and connect to a Wi-Fi network:

  1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  2. Tap the switch to turn on Wi-Fi.
  3. Tap a Wi-Fi network to connect. If the network you selected is a secured network, you will need to enter a password or other credentials. When finished, tap Connect.
  4. For hidden network, slide up the screen and select Add network. Enter the SSID of the network, password, and its secured credentials. Then, tap Connect.
