Assembly Instructions

PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION
Carefully remove the new fixture from the carton as well as the yellow bag that holds all of the parts. See the important notes above. Shut off power at the circuit breaker and remove the old fixture from the wall, including the old mounting strap.

  1. From the parts, bag remove the mounting strap (D) assembly. One end of the nipple (A) should be attached to the mounting strap (D) with a washer (C) and hex nut (B) in place. Attach the mounting strap (D) to the junction box using mounting screws (F) and a screwdriver. Tighten securely. Unscrew canopy loop collar (I) from canopy loop (H). Pass canopy (G) over the mounted canopy loop (H) to test the height. Approximately half of the canopy loop’s exterior threads should be exposed, and the canopy loop collar (I) should fit snugly onto the canopy loop (H). Remove the canopy (G) and adjust the height of the nipple (A) and canopy loop (H) until the desired height is reached.
    ASSEMBLING THE FIXTURE

  2. Place the fixture’s frame onto a flat surface. Turn the fixture frame upside down so that the bottom cap (O3) is facing up. Unscrew hex nut (O1) and remove the bottom cap (O3) from the nipple (O). Inside the fixture base, carefully pull the wires (O2) inside the base to help guide fixture arms (W) into the supports (Y). Place bottom cap (O3) back over nipple (O) and secure with hex nut (O1) and finial (P). Turn the fixture frame back over to the original position. Once arms (W) are in place, secure to the fixture using small screws (X).

  3. Thread long nipple (L) into post (N) and secure with hex nut (Z4). Feed the fixture’s wires from the post (N) through the long nipple (L). Pull the wires until taut. Assemble decorative column (M) and slide over long nipple (L), then carefully push the wires through long nipple (L), decorative cap (Z3), washer (Z2), and into the hole in the top loop (Z1). Thread the top loop (Z1), washer (Z2), and decorative cap (Z3) onto the decorative column (M) to secure the top loop (Z1) to the fixture. Pull the wires until taut.

  4. Measure to determine the correct length of chain needed for proper hanging height. If necessary, use a pair of pliers to open and remove any excess chain. Attach each of the chain connectors (J) to each end of the chain (K) before attaching one end of the chain connector/chain to the top loop (Z1). Connect the other chain connector (J) to the canopy loop (H). Close the chain connectors (J) to secure.

  5. Feed the fixture’s wires up through the chain (K) (every three links or so), pulling the wires until taut. Gently slide canopy loop collar (I) and canopy (G) down onto the chain/wires. Trim excess wires leaving about 8 to 10 inches for later.
    CONNECTING THE WIRES

  6. Have an assistant support the fixture’s weight while completing the wiring. Refer to the wiring diagram and attach the fixture’s wires to the power supply wires from the junction box. Attach the fixture’s wires to the power supply wires from the junction box. Connect Hot to Hot (transparent wire with black inner thread, black, or smooth wire) Neutral to Neutral (transparent wire with white inner thread, white, or ribbed wire), and Ground to Ground (transparent wire with green inner thread, green wire, or copper). Twist the ends of the wire pairs together, and then twist on a wire connector. Make sure all twists are in the same direction. If there is no house ground wire coming from the junction box, locate ground screw (E) on the mounting bracket/mounting strap and wrap the fixture’s ground wire around the ground screw. Use a screwdriver to tighten the top of the ground screw (E) onto the wires and into the mounting bracket/mounting strap. Tuck the wires into the junction box.
How to Identify the Fixture’s Wires

  7. Hot: Smooth, Black, or Transparent with Black Inner Thread

  8. Neutral: Ribbed, White, or Transparent with White Inner Thread

  9. Ground: Copper, Bare Metal, Green, or Transparent Inner Thread
    FINISHING THE INSTALLATION

  10. Push the canopy (G) up to the ceiling and slide the canopy loop collar (I) up beneath the canopy (G). Tightly thread the canopy loop collar (I) onto the canopy loop (H) to secure the canopy in place until snug against the ceiling. 8. Slide candle sleeves (U) over sockets on cups (V). Tighten decorative finials (S & Q) onto the threads (R1 and R2) at the bottom of the fixture arms. Install light bulbs (not included) in accordance with the fixture’s specifications. Do not exceed the maximum recommended wattage. Your installation is now complete. Turn on the power and test the fixture.
