LED INDICATOR

Power On The device is being powered on.
Off The device is not receiving power.
WAN On The Ethernet port is connected.
Off The Ethernet port is disconnected.
LAN On The Ethernet port is connected.
Off The Ethernet port is disconnected.

Wi-Fi Signal

Mode Description
AP/Router ON ON ON Wi-Fi signal output power 100%.
Repeater ON ON ON Better reception: signal 75%-100%.
ON ON OFF Good reception: signal 50%-75%.
ON OFF OFF Weak reception: signal below 50%.
Flashing OFF OFF Disconnected.

Installation

1. Please follow the installation steps when assembling the device.

  1. WAVLINK AC1200 High Power Outdoor Gigabit WiFi Range Extender AP Router - fig 3Pass the R345 cable through the spiral cover.
  2. Pass the R345 cable through the rubber seal.
  3.  Pass the R345 cable through the holder.
  4. Connect the R345 cable to the POE IN/WAN port.
  5. Spin the 2.4G antenna into the 2.4G external RP-SMA connector.
  6. Spin 5G antenna into the 5G external RP-SMA connector.
  7. Screw the holder.
  8. Plug the rubber seal to the holder.
  9. Screw the spiral cover.

2. Install the device:
2.1 Firstly fasten the device to somewhere firm, then install the device in the holder.

Remark
If you happen to live in a zone where lightning happens a lot, we suggest that you install the device through a grounding connection in order to strengthen the lightning-resistant function.
2.2 Now please follow the steps below.

  1. WAVLINK AC1200 High Power Outdoor Gigabit WiFi Range Extender AP Router - fig 6 Connect a cable to al POE ports of the POE converter.
  2. Connect “LAN DATA IN” to the “LAN” of your router.
  3. Plug in the device through the power adapter.
  4. Push the “ON/OFF” button to turn on or off the device.

Attention

  1. Ensure that you use a certified CAT5e/CAT6 Ethernet cable with R345 connectors.
  2. Ensure that the length of the Ethernet cable is less than 60m (196 ft.).

Turn on your Wi-Fi, search the SSID of this product on your wireless devices (smartphone, tablet computer, laptop, etc.) and connect to it.

1.2 Via Cable

Connect the Ethernet cable to your PC/laptop and device LAN port. then you can start configuring the device.
2. Launch a browser from your laptop/PC or smartphone and enter wifi.wavlink.com or 192.168.10.1 in the address field. The default password is admin.
3. Please select the mode that is fit for your need.
3.1 Wi-Fi Repeater Mode
Choose an existing WiFi to connect to and enter the existing WiFi password.
3.2 Router Mode
Please choose an Internet type and input the password accordingly.

Which WAN Type am I supposed to choose?
If you use the DSL line and you are only provided an account name and a password by your ISP, choose PPPoE. If you use cable TV or fiber cable, choose DHCP(Dynamic IP). If you are provided information such as IP address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway, choose Static IP.
3.3 LAN Bridge (AP mode)
Please set Wi-Fi AP security information by following the instruction.

Wi-Fi Configuration

On the Wi-Fi configuration page, you can change the Wi-Fi name, Security Type, and Wi-Fi Password.(“Note” In Repeater mode, the WiFi’s password must be set to the same as the host WiFi)

Firmware Upgrade

If you need to update firmware, please proceed as the following steps:

  1. Download the latest firmware file from www.wavlink.com.

  2. Extract the firmware from the downloaded file.

  3. Log in to wifi.wavlink.com or 192.168.10.1, then choose “Setup” and select “Upgrade Firmware”.

  4. Click on Browse/Choose File to locate the firmware file.

  5. Click on Apply, and wait for the firmware upgrade process to complete.

What is a firmware upgrade and why do I need it?
Firmware contains fixes for bugs and new features, please keep the latest firmware to improve the experience of using the product. Please do not use the wrong firmware, otherwise, it will damage your device and void the product warranty.

– Make sure your PC is set to obtain IP address automatically.
– Please make sure you entered the correct website.

– Make sure your Internet works normally, please contact your ISP(Internet Service Provider) if it doesn’t.
– Initiate your browser, enter 192.168.10.1 or wifl.wavlink.com, then set up the following quick start guide.

Q3. How do? restore the device to the factory default setting?****

– Press and hold the reset button of the mesh device for 6 seconds.

Q4. What can I do if I forget my administration management password?****

– Please refer to 03 to reset the device, the default password is admin.

Q5. How do! find the best location for mesh devices.?****

– Please put your mesh devices in a relatively open space to avoid obstacles such as metal objects, reinforced concrete walls and so on.
