- It is recommended to use the Front Resonator on the 5.0L engine, or for a more aggressive sound, use the Front Pipe.
- The Front Pipe is recommended for the EcoBoost engines, but the Front Resonator can provide a more subtle sound. Refer to Figures 6, 7, and Page 1.
- Using one 3.0 Clamp, loosely install the Extension Pipe connecting it to the Front Pipe, or Front Resonator. Refer to Figure 7.
- Install the Hang TightTM Hanger onto a 3.0 Band Clamp using the procedure shown in Detail A. Refer to Figure 8.
- Install the Hang-TightTM Hanger Clamp Assembly into the Extension Pipe, and into the factory insulator. Refer to Figure 8.
- Install the factory insulator onto the Driver-side Over-Axle Pipe. Place a 3.0 Clamp over each Muffler outlet. Install the Driver-side Over-Axle Pipe into the driver-side Muffler outlet. Secure the factory insulator to the frame using the original hardware. Refer to Figures 10 and 11.
- Install the Passenger-Side Over-Axle Pipe into the passenger-side lower Muffler outlet. Refer to Figures 10 and 11.
- Install the factory insulator onto the Driver-Side Mid-Pipe. Using one 3.0 Clamp, install the Driver-Side Mid-Pipe onto the Driver-Side Over-Axle Pipe. Secure the factory insulator to the frame using the original hardware. Refer to Figure 12.
- Install the factory insulator onto the Driver-Side Tail Pipe. Using one 3.0 Clamp, install the Driver-Side tailpipe onto the Driver-Side Mid-Pipe. Secure the factory insulator to the frame using the original hardware. Refer to Figure 13.
- Install the two factory insulators onto the Passenger-Side Tail Pipe. Using one 3.0 Clamp, install the Passenger-Side Tail Pipe onto the Passenger-Side Over-Axle Pipe. Secure the two factory insulators to the frame using the original hardware. Refer to Figure 14.
- Install the Exhaust Tips and adjust them to your liking. Refer to Figures 13 and 14.
Installation Tip: Insulators located on the Tail Pipes can be adjusted to center the Exhaust Tips in the bumper cut-outs.

- If you have any questions or are uncertain about any aspect of the installation of this system to your vehicle please contact your dealer before commencing installation.
Removal of Stock System
- Apply penetrating lubricant liberally to all exhaust fasteners, hangers, and rubber insulators.
- Loosen the factory front pipe flange bolts. Refer to Figure 1.
- Remove the passenger-side insulator from the factory tailpipe by unbolting it from the frame. Retain insulators and hardware for installation Refer to Figure 2.
- Unbolt the insulator on the passenger side located next to the spare tire. Refer to Figure 3.
- Loosen the passenger-side clamp at the connection and unclip the tailpipe at the expansion. Remove the passenger-side tail pipe Refer to Figure 4.
- Repeat Steps 3-5 on the driver-side factory tailpipe.
- Remove the front pipe and muffler in one piece. Retain all bolts for the installation.
- Remove the insulator from the frame that was above the muffler for ease of installation Refer to Figure 5.
Installation of MBRP Performance Exhaust
- 1. Loosely install the Front Resonator, or Front Pipe and Flange, using the factory bolts and the supplied 3/8” Flat Washers. It is recommended to use the Front Resonator on the 5.0L engine, or for a more aggressive sound, use the Front Pipe.
- The Front Pipe is recommended for the EcoBoost engines, but the Front Resonator can provide a more subtle sound. Refer to Figures 6, 7, and. Using one 3.0” Clamp, loosely install the Extension Pipe connecting it to the Front Pipe, or Front Resonator. Refer to Figure 7.
- Install the Hang Tight™ Hanger onto a 3.0” Band Clamp using the procedure shown below. (Hang Tight™ Hanger not exactly as shown) Refer to Detail A.
- Detail A
- Install the Hang-Tight™ Hanger Clamp Assembly into the Extension Pipe, and into the factory insulator. Refer to Figure 8.
- Install the Muffler onto the Extension Pipe and loosely secure the Hang-Tight™ Hanger Clamp Assembly. Muffler outlets will be at a 45º angle viewed from the rear, with the passenger-side outlet at the bottom. Refer to Figures 9 and 10.
- Install the factory insulator onto the Driver-side Over-Axle Pipe. Place a 3.0” Clamp over each Muffler outlet.
- Installation Tip: Insulators located on the Tail Pipes can be adjusted to center the Exhaust Tips in the bumper cut-outs.
- Carefully align the system and tips. Align the edge of each band clamp with the edge of the joint it is connecting. Tighten all hardware and clamps, starting at the front and working rearward to secure the system. Check along the full length of the exhaust system to ensure there is adequate clearance for fuel lines, vent lines, brake lines, frame, bodywork, suspension, and any wiring, etc. If there is any interference detected, relocate, or adjust to provide adequate clearance. Ensure all clamp connections are secure and components are unable to rotate or slide. Band clamps require approximately 45 lb-ft (60 N-m) of torque. Verify clearances, system security, and band clamp torque after 30-60 miles (50-100 km) of driving.
- Congratulations! You are ready to begin experiencing the improved power, sound, and driving experience of your MBRP Performance Exhaust.
- We know you will enjoy your purchase!
