Product Information

The Mitel 7X2 DECT Phones are a range of cordless phones designed for communication systems. These phones have various features including microphone control, ring tone control, voicemail notifications, text messaging, LED indicators, and more. The phones are available in different models such as 712DT, 722DT, 732D, and 742D.

Key Features:

  • Microphone off: Allows you to mute the microphone during a call.
  • Ring tone off: Lets you turn off the ringtone for incoming calls.
  • New message in the voice mailbox: Indicates the presence of a new voicemail message.
  • New text messages: Alerts you to the presence of new text messages.
  • Read text messages: Shows that there are text messages that have been read.
  • LED indicator:
    • Green: Indicates normal status.
    • Red: Flashes slowly for an appointment and fast for an alarm.
    • Orange Lit: Indicates the battery is charging.

Product Usage Instructions

Installation:

  1. Installing the battery:
    • Release the lock of the battery cover by sliding the knob towards the right and removing it.
    • Insert the battery with the contacts facing downwards.
    • Replace the battery cover and push it upwards until it locks.

Phone Book/Name Selection:

  • To access the phone book, depending on the communication system:
    • Select an entry using the navigation key.
    • Press the Call key to make a call.
  • To enter a name or search for a name in the phone book:
    • Press the navigation key up or down to scroll through the list.
    • Enter the name or the first letter of the name.
    • If necessary, select the desired entry.
    • To dial the selected entry, press the Call key.

During a Connection:

  • Enquiry:
    • Enter “R” and the call number.
    • Press the Enquiry softkey or the Call key.
    • Enter the call number.
  • To send an enquiry call:
    • Press “>>>”.
    • Select “Release call” and confirm with “OK”.
    • Press “R”.
    • Press the End call softkey.
  • Brokering:
    • To switch between two callers without interrupting the calls:
    • While making/taking a call, press “R”.
    • Press the Brokering softkey.
  • To set up a conference call:
    • Connect several callers for a conference call.
    • If a call participant is on hold (see Enquiry), press “>>>”.
    • Select “3 party” and confirm with “OK”.
    • Press the Conference softkey.
  • To leave a conference call:
    • Press the End key.
  • To set up a connection:
    • Press “R”.
    • Enter the call number.
    • Press the End key.
    • Or, press the Enquiry softkey.
    • Enter the call number.
    • Press the Connect softkey.
  • To answer a call during a conversation (Call waiting):
    • Press “R”.
    • Press the Call waiting softkey.
  • Callback:
    • If the person is busy or does not answer:
    • Press “>>>”.
    • Select “Callback” and confirm with “OK”.
    • Press the Callback softkey.

Communication systems

Your telephone is only supported on SIP-DECT and can be used with different communication systems; therefore, the operation differs according to the system. The availability of the functions, features, key assignments and products also depends on the communication system.

Keys

  • Call key:
    • Set up a connection.
    • R-key function.
  • Redial list:
    • Press the Call key.
  • End key:
    • Cut connection.
    • Exit editor without changes.
    • In a menu: Back to idle state.
    • Press and hold down: Activate/deactivate the phone.
    • Loudspeaker key: Activate/deactivate hands-free mode.
    • Softkeys: Executes displayed function above key.
  • Navigation keys:
    • In a menu: Scroll forward and backward.
    • In a list: Navigate.
    • In idle: Call up stored functions.
    • Correction key: Delete the last character or go back one step in the menu.
  • Configurable side keys (on the left):
    • Adjust current connection volume.
    • Call-up configured function.
    • Star key: Press and hold down to activate/deactivate ring tone.
    • Switch between digits/letters and upper/lower case.
    • Hash key: Press and hold down to lock keypad.
    • Configurable side key (on the right): Call up stored functions.
    • SOS key (on top): Set off an emergency call.

  • Radio link quality (4 signal bars: good, 1 signal bar: bad)

LED indicator

  • Green
    • Flashes fast: Incoming call, enquiry call.
    • Lit: Hands-free on.
  • Red Flashes slowly:
    • New entries in the info area, alarm/appointment.
    • New voice mail message.
  • Flashes fast:
    • Outside the system’s service area.
    • Sensor alarm.
    • No movement and man-down alarm.
  • Orange Lit: Battery charging.

General characteristics

  • Headset connection via a cable (not 742d) or Bluetooth® (not 712dt)
  • USB-C connection
  • Inbuilt alarm sensor

Installation

Installing the battery
Release the lock of the battery cover by sliding the knob towards the right, then take it off. Insert the battery with the contacts downwards. Replace the battery cover and push it upwards until it locks.

Connection

  • Taking a call: Press the Call key.
  • To end the connection: Press the End key.
  • To make a call from lists (redial list, call lists, phone book): Call up depends on the communication system, select an entry, then press the Call key.

Phone book/Name Selection
Press the navigation key up or down. Enter the name or first letter of the name. If necessary select entry. To dial: Press the Call key.

During a connection

Enquiry

  • Enter R and call number.
  • Press the Enquiry softkey or the Call key then enter the call number.

To end the enquiry call

  • Press >>>, select Release call and confirm with OK, press R.
  • Press the End call softkey.

Brokering
Switches between two callers without interrupting the calls. You are making/taking a call:

  • Press R.
  • Press the Brokering softkey.

To set up a conference

  • Connects several callers for a conference call. A call participant is put on hold (see “Enquiry”):
    • Press >>>, select 3 parties and confirm with OK.
    • Press the Conference softkey.
    • Leaving a conference call: Press the End key.

To set up a connection

  • Press R, enter the call number and press the End key.
  • Press the Enquiry softkey, enter the call number and press the Connect softkey.

To take a call during a conversation (Call waiting)

  • Press R.
  • Press the Call waiting softkey.

Callback

  • The person is busy or does not answer.
  • Press >>>, select Callback and confirm with OK.
  • Press the Callback softkey.
