SAFETY

General Safety
Please read these instructions before using the fan and keep for future reference.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction in using the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Do not poke anything through the ventilating slits.
Always use the heater in an upright position. Stand it on a firm, solid, horizontal base (not on thick pile carpets).
WARNING: In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.
Leave nothing hanging above or in front of the heater (e.g. clothes, curtains, bedding, fabrics). Be sure that the back panel vent slots on the heater are uncovered otherwise it will overheat.
Clean these openings at regular intervals to prevent airflow reduction (refer Maintenance section).
The heater surfaces are hot when in use. To avoid burns, keep bare skin away from the top ventilation outlets.
Leave plenty of room around the heater.
Do not use this heater outdoors, or on wet surfaces. Do not use the heater near flammable areas or substances.
Electrical Safety
Connect the heater to a single 230 V, 10A socket only. Do not plug into double adaptors or multi-outlet power boards.
Make sure that the heater never comes into contact with water.
Never position the heater under a power outlet.
Never turn the heater on if the lead is damaged or if the heater’s casing is obviously damaged. If the power supply cord is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, a service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Do not pull the heater along by the power cord or place the cord near the heaters surfaces. Always uncoil the power cord completely before use. Use of extension cords is not recommended.
Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool. If the heater is to be used in a bathroom, ensure that switches and other controls cannot be touched by a person in the bath or shower.
Do not use the heater with a separate timer to turn the heater on. Always turn the heater off and unplug from the power socket when not in use.
Safety Device
To avoid overheating problems the inbuilt safety device will interrupt electricity if the heating element becomes too hot.
The heater will then return to stand-by mode.
If this should happen:

  • Check that the heater is positioned correctly, not close to any furnishings.
  • See that there is no dust or other obstacles blocking the vent slots.
  • Clean the vent slots if necessary.

The heater is also equipped with a ‘tipover’ switch, which will turn off power to the heater elements if it should fall over.

1 Wall Mounting Assembly
NOTE: the wall mounting bracket supplied with the heater must be used.
Because wall types differ, mounting hardware (screws and wall anchors) are not supplied and will need to be purchased from your local hardware retailer. Please use the following fixed weights as a guide:-
Model CPH01B/W/M: 9.3 kg
Model CPH02B/W/M: 12.6 kg
There are 4 fixing points that must be used.
The heater must be positioned so it complies with the minimum clearances shown in Fig 4. Loosen the 2 screws from the top of the mounting bracket (refer Fig 5), then push down on the top and bottom tabs to release the mounting bracket from the rear panel Fix the wall bracket securely to the wall through the 4 screw holes provided (Fig 6). Raise the heater onto the bracket, engaging the 2 bottom tabs of the wall bracket first. Ensure the bottom tabs slide up into the heater rear panel and lock into place (Fig 7). Push the heater back onto the 2 top wall bracket tabs, ensuring they ‘click’ into the rear panel slots (Fig 8). Tighten the 2 screws to lock the bracket into place. Remote Control Setup

  • Remove the battery protector tab (Fig 9).
  • When the heater’s power is on, the remote control can be used to operate the heater from up to 6m away.
