Product Information

The EN COMPACT Trough Drinker 45 cm is a high-quality product made in Germany. It is designed for use with cattle, dairy cows, calves, and horses. This trough drinker is ideal for animals with nose rings or anti-suction rings. The water pressure required for proper operation ranges from 1 to 5 bar or 14.5 to 73 psi.
The trough drinker has a maximum capacity of approximately 20 liters and is designed for wall mounting. It comes with mounting instructions in multiple languages, including Deutsch and English. The product also features a water connection with an IG (Internal Thread) union piece for easy installation.

Product Usage Instructions

1. Installation Height: The recommended installation height for the trough drinker is between 70 and 80 cm (28 – 32 inches) from the ground to the edge of the trough.
2. Water Circuit Mounting: Follow the provided scheme to mount the water circuit pipe (132.1599). Install the valve (131.0674) and ensure all parts are tightened securely.
3. Water Pressure: The recommended water pressure for the trough drinker is between 1 and 5 bar (14.5 – 73 psi). The water flow rate can reach up to approximately 40 l/min at 5 bar.
4. Flush Water Line: Before connecting the COMPACT Trough Drinker, it is important to flush the water line well to remove any debris or impurities.
5. Water Filter Installation: Install a water filter (101.0487) before connecting the COMPACT Trough Drinker to ensure clean water supply.
6. Adjustment of Water Level: The water level in the bowl can be adjusted by changing the height of the float valve.
7. Use in Winter Season: The water circuit pipe (132.1599) can be connected to a Heating Unit for frost-protected use throughout the year. Please refer to the heating unit instructions for proper installation.
8. Bite Protection: The trough drinker includes a bite-protection feature to prevent damage from animals.
9. Insulation: The trough drinker is insulated to help maintain water temperature.

Fixation of Drinking Bowl

• COMPACT Trough Drinker can be fixed on walls or on tubes of 1½” – 2″. 4 Fixing brackets (131.0169) are necessary for installation on tubes (1½” – 2″). 4 strong screws are necessary for installation on walls of wood or concrete.
• Observe DIN 1988 / DIN EN 1717!
• Hole Distance: 500 mm
• Installation height 70 – 80 cm (28″ – 32″) until edge of trough.

Water Circuit Mounting

• Mount the water circuit pipe (132.1599) according to the scheme on the left.
• Mount the valve (131.0674) and tighten all the parts well!

Attention!

• Flush water line well before you connect the COMPACT Trough Drinker!
• Water Filter (101.0487) should be installed before the COMPACT Trough Drinker.
• Water pressure Water pressure from 1 – 4 bar / 14,5 – 74 psi Water flow approx. 40 l/min at given 5 bar Trough contents max. approx. 20 l / 5,3 gal
• Water connection is possible from behind. Water connection can also be done from the top or bottom means of a ¾” connection angle.

Adjustment of water level

Water level in the bowl can be adjusted by changing the height of float valve:

• unscrew two hexagon screws (132.0529)
• move the valve cover (132.1598). Take off the valve cover (132.1598)
• loose two hexagon nuts (102.0621)
• adjust the floater at desired height
• tighten two hexagon nuts again
• mount the cover (132.1598).

Cleaning

• stop water flow
• remove drainage plug (132.1563)
• let water bleed
• clean the bowl
• insert drainage plug (132.1563)
• open water flow.

Use in winter season

• Water circuit pipe (132.1599) can be connected to a Heating Unit.
• This guarantees a frostprotected use throughout the year. See heating unit instructions.
