Product Description

The combustible gas alarm is an alarm that detects gas leakage by sensing natural gas. When the concentration of natural gas reaches the alarm value, the alarm will emit a sound and light alarm signal to remind you to take measures to  effectively protect the safety of life and property for you and family. It can control other smart hardware products through the linkage of the gateway device, such as flexible control of window openers, exhaust fans, smart curtains and other devices.

network configuration setting

  1. Connect to power supply, please wait patiently without any operation. Yellow light flash automatically (gas detect component enter preheating state). Within 5 minutes preheating, light will change to green light always ON ;
  2. Open My home page in TuyaSmart App to enter corresponding Gateway ;
  3. Long press the device button until green light flash quickly;
  4. Select and add sub-device in the corresponding Gateway, and then follow the APP prompt to complete the process ;
  5. If the network configuration fails, re-press and hold the device button again until the green light flashes quickly, re-operate above step ;
  6. When configuring the network, please keep the device as close as possible to the Gateway ;

Using this Product

  1. Preheating state
    The product enters the preheating state after being powered on. During the preheating period, the status indicator is  flashing yellowlegs. After preheating is completed (no more than 3 minutes), the status indicator will become  steady green.

  2. Working state
    When the product is working properly, the status indicator will be steady green with no alarm sound.

  3. Alarm state
    If the product is working properly and the gas concentration is higher than the preset alarm threshold, the indicator will be steady red and the buzzer will generate an audible alarm.

  4. Faulty state
    If the product is faulty, the indicator will be steady yellow and the buzzer will generate a long blast of sound.

  5. Simulation test
    When the product is working, press the mute/self-diagnostic button to enter the simulation test mode. After entering the simulation test mode, the product will send a wireless alarm signal. After the test is completed, the product will send a wireless alarm clearance signal.

Installation Instructions

  1. Precautions
    (1) Install the product indoors where devices use combustible gas (methane).
    (2) Do not install the product outdoors.
    (3) Ensure that the temperature of the installation environment is within the range of ‒10°C to +55°C.
    (4) Do not install the product in places where the product will be affected by heat, steam, or smoke residual generated by gas appliances (for example, above a gas stove).
    (5) Ensure that there are no obstacles between the product and gas devices, or the product may fail to detect gas leakage.
    (6) Do not install the product in places with a large airflow, such as air intake vents, ventilators, windows, and doors, or the product may fail to detect gas leakage.
    (7) Ensure that the product is properly connected to a power socket and that the power socket has power.
    (8) You are advised to use screws to install the product. If you use a 3M sticker to install the product, any product damage or safety accidents incurred therefrom will be your responsibility. However, if you choose to use a 3M sticker, affix the product to a smooth, even, dry, and clean surface.
    (9) Regularly check whether the product is attached to the surface securely to prevent it from falling down.

  2. Installation positions
    Ceiling mount: Install the product in the annular zone about 1.5 m to 4 m above the gas source.
    Wall mount: Install the product on a wall, about 0.2 m to 0.5 m below the ceiling and 1.5 m away from the gas source.

  3. Installation methods
    (1) Using screws Use screws to fix the mounting base to the ceiling or wall. Rotate the product clockwise into the mounting base.
    (2) Using a 3M sticker Affix the 3M sticker to the rear of the mounting base. Affix the product to the target position.

Routine Maintenance and Protection
To ensure that the product works properly, maintain and protect the product as follows:

  1. Correctly install, operate, and maintain the product in accordance with the user manual.
  2. Perform a self-diagnostic test on the product every month. When the product is working, press the mute/self-diagnostic button and ensure that the product can generate an audible and visual alarm.
  3. Once every three months, use a slightly damp towel to clean the product cover and remove dust and oil stains from the air intake vent of the product to ensure smooth airflow and a normal alarm sound. Do not use a wet towel or  chemical solvents, such as alcohol or acetone to clean the product.
  4. Calibrate the product annually.
    ★ Only qualified institutions with standard gas and calibration tools are authorized to calibrate the product.

Handling Gas Leakage

When the combustible gas concentration in the air reaches or exceeds the preset alarm threshold, the product will enter the alarm state. Handle the problem as follows:

  1. Close the gas pipeline valve immediately.
  2. Open doors and windows for ventilation.
  3. Extinguish all sources of fire such as cigarette lighters, matches, and gas burners, and do not use items that may generate fire or any kind of electrical spark, such as electronic ignition devices for water heaters or gas burners.
  4. Do not turn any home appliances on or off.
  5. Check the causes of the gas leakage and notify relevant departments and professional personnel of handling the problem.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Possible Causes Solution

After the product is powered on, the status indicator blinks  yellow for a long time, indicating that the product is still in preheating state.| 1. The product is not powered on for a long time.
2. There is combustible gas in the environment during the  preheating period.| 1. Power on the product for 24 hours.
2. Eliminate combustible gas, and power on the product to preheat  it.
The status indicator is steady yellow, and the buzzer  generates a blast of sound.| The sensor is faulty.| Contact the vendor for repair.

Other Precautions

  1. The product can only be used for pipeline natural gas (methane) and cannot be used for bottled liquefied gas (LPG).
  2. Do not change the internal structure of the product.
  3. Do not directly use high-concentration combustible gas, for example, butane lighter gas or pure natural gas on the product. The sensitivity of the product’s detector will be reduced, and the product may even become non-functional.
  4. Do not use a large amount of hair spray, pesticides, paint, adhesives, or thinners near the product to avoid false alarms and maintain the product’s lifespan.
  5. Typically, the product’s built-in sensor can be used for five years. Maintain the sensor or replace the product after having using the product for five years.
  6. Periodically check whether the product is working properly. If the product is faulty, contact the vendor and describe the fault symptoms to rectify the fault. Do not disassemble the product yourself. After-sales service engineers of the vendor can provide on-site guidance. If you send the product to the vendor for repair, ensure gas use safety during the repair period.
  7.  If you use a 3M sticker to affix the product to a painted surface, peeling of the paint may cause the product to fall down. If this occurs, you are liable for any problems incurred therefrom.
