Minka 8761 1 Light Wall Mount
Product Information
The product is a light fixture model 8761/8762/8763. It comes with a mounting plate, cap nuts, mounting screws, wire connectors, and a clear caulking for installation. The fixture requires an A-19 medium base bulb (not included) and has a maximum wattage rating that should not be exceeded. The fixture has black or smooth wires for connecting to the house’s black (hot) wires, white or ribbed wires for connecting to the house’s white (neutral) wires, and bare copper wires for connecting to the house’s green or bare copper (ground) wires. The fixture’s ground wire can also be connected directly to the circular strap using the provided green screw.
Product Usage Instructions
- Shut off the power at the fuse or circuit breaker before starting the installation.
- Remove the old fixture, including the mounting hardware.
- Carefully unpack the new fixture and lay out all the parts on a clear area.
- Thread the 2 mounting screws into the mounting plate, spaced the same distance apart as the holes in the fixture back plate. Adjust the length of screws if necessary.
- Attach the mounting plate to the outlet box with the provided mounting screws.
- Connect the electrical wires as shown in Fig. 2. Make sure all wire connectors are secured. If your outlet box has a ground wire, connect the fixture’s ground wire to it. Otherwise, connect the fixture’s ground wire directly to the circular strap using the provided green screw.
- Align the fixture back plate to the mounting plate and secure with cap nuts.
- To prevent moisture from entering the outlet box, use clear caulking to outline the outside of the fixture back plate where it meets the wall. Leave a space at the bottom to allow moisture to escape.
- Install the bulb (A-19 medium base, not supplied) according to the fixture’s specifications. Do not exceed the maximum wattage rating.
- Return power to the junction box and test the fixture.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! SHUT POWER OFF AT FUSE OR CIRCUIT BREAKER.
PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION (Fig. 1)
- Shut off the power at the circuit breaker and remove the old fixture, including the mounting hardware.
- Carefully unpack your new fixture and lay out all the parts on a clear area. Take care not to lose any small parts necessary for installation.
- Thread the 2 mounting screws (E) into the mounting plate (C) spaced the same distance apart as the holes in the fixture back plate. The length of screws (D) into mounting plate (B) may be adjusted if necessary.
- Attach the mounting plate (C) to the outlet box (A) (not supplied) with mounting screws (B). (Size: #8-32*0.78″L)
- CONNECTING THE WIRES (Fig. 2)
- Connect the electrical wires as shown in Fig.2.Making sure that all wire connectors are secured. If your outlet box has a ground wire (green or bare copper), connect the fixture’s ground wire to it. Otherwise, connect the fixture’s ground wire directly to the circular strap using the green screw provided.
- COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION (Fig.1)
- Align the fixture back plate to mounting plate (C) and secure with cap nuts (F).
- To prevent moisture from entering the outlet box and causing a short, use clear caulking (i.e. Indoor/Outdoor Silicone Sealant) to outline the outside of fixture back plate where it meets the wall leaving a space at bottom to allow moisture a means to escape. (Fig. 3)
- Install the bulb (A-19medium base, not supplied) in accordance with the fixture’s specification. DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM WATTAGE RATING! (NE PAS DEPASSER LA PUISSANCE NOMINALE MAXIMALE!)
Your installation is now complete. Return power to the junction box and test the fixture.
