SUBJECT:	JET B AND JP-4 FUELS FLIGHT MANUAL

LIMITATION, CHANGE OF
HELICOPTERS AFFECTED:| Serial numbers 65011 through 65134.

DESCRIPTION

Following engineering analysis to add additional approved fuel types to the Model 505 type certificate, a discrepancy in an original report was noted. The re-evaluation of the subject findings demonstrated that for wide cut fuels such as Jet B and JP-4, the present altitude limitations published was set at too high of an altitude.
This Alert Service Bulletin (ASB) introduces a change to the Rotorcraft Flight Manual (RFM) Section 1, Figure 1-6. This change to the limitations section is introduced in conjunction with the release of BHT-505-FM-1 Rev.3.
Revision A of this bulletin is to supersede this ASB to the ASB 505-22-28 that mandates the insertion of Figure 1-6 introduced at Revision 5 of the BHT-505-FM-1 Rotorcraft Flight Manual (RFM). The Revision 5 of the RFM introduced more stringent limitations
to Figure 1-6 for starting at certain altitudes, ambient temperatures, and fuel specifications.

The engineering design aspects of this bulletin are Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) approved.

ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Insert BHT-505-FM-1 Rev.3 into the BHT-505-FM-1 Rotorcraft Flight Manual.
Make sure to communicate the content of the revised fuel table for wide cut fuels such as Jet B and JP-4 to the model 505 pilots.
a. In the interim to receiving the revised fuel table content, a sample copy of the revised Figure 1-6 has been included for your familiarization.
Make an entry in the helicopter logbook and historical service records indicating compliance with this Alert Service Bulletin.
