For any combination style lock, it is a good idea to set the combination before installing the safe. We recommend that the combination be set with the DOOR OPEN in order to test the lock combination effectively without locking yourself out.
-
Clear out the contents of the center console for now, including the factory mat at the bottom of the console.
a. Once the mat is removed, cut the back part of the mat off as shown in the figure on the back (see Image 1), and place the front part of the mat back in the compartment where it was located before. -
Remove the separation tab towards the back of the console (this is the tab with the 3 different truck year models on it), as well as the two tabs on either side of the console.
a. These tab stoppers are on the side of the console and have a slot to fit through the sliding console. To remove, simply use a rubber mallet and hit them out from behind.
b. Be sure to collect and throw away all pieces of these tabs before continuing. -
Set the safe into the center console.
a. To ensure that the safe is set in the compartment properly, make sure that the metal tab-like bottom fits into its respective slot in the bottom of the compartment (see Image 2) -
Using a DRILL or PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWDRIVER, start drilling the SELF TAPING screws into the 2 holes in the back of the safe, then the 2 holes on the sides (one hole on each side of the safe)
a. The rear screws MUST be installed before the side screws. -
Tighten the screws, DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN, THIS COULD DAMAGE THE CONSOLE.
-
Enjoy your purchase!
