MGF EXAMINATION AND TESTING
Upon return to MGF the equipment will be cleaned, inspected and function tested by a competent and trained MGF safety technician.

- Built-in confidence. The Samaritan PAD 500P uses an Impedance Cardiogram (ICG) to assess the effectiveness of the CPR.
- User-friendly. Easy-to-understand visual and voice prompts guide a user through the entire process.
- Always ready. A System Status Ready Indicator flashes to show that the complete system is operational and ready for use. Device automatically runs self-check each week.
- Durable. The Samaritan PAD 500P resists shock and vibration and carries an IP56 Rating, the industry’s highest rating against dust and moisture ingress. It also carries a

- Advanced technology. The Samaritan PAD 500P utilizes proprietary electrode technology, advanced and stable firmware, and proprietary SCOPE™* Biphasic Technology (an escalating and low-energy waveform that automatically adjusts for patient impedance differences) to assess rhythm and recommend defibrillation if necessary.

What is Cardiac Arrest?
Normal Heart Activity – Note the regular pattern with each beat of the
heart:
Sudden Cardiac Arrest – The heart enters a chaotic rhythm:
The heart cannot pump blood effectively, causing the victim to collapse.

- Not breathing spontaneously

HOW SERIOUS IS CARDIAC ARREST?
- Worldwide 7 million people are impacted annually
- Can happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime
- Only 5-10% currently survive
- 84% of sudden cardiac arrests happen outside of a healthcare setting
- Survival rates up to 75% have been achieved when CPR is applied and Automated External Defibrillators are readily available
USER GUIDE
- In an emergency ensure the area is safe before approaching a potential cardiac arrest victim
- Call for help and proceed under the guidelines/training provided by your employer regarding CPR
- Start the HeartSine Defibrillator by pressing the green start button on the front
- The Defibrillator will then guide your through the process with both visual and audible instructions
STORAGE AND CARE
The HeartSine 500P Defibrillator must be stored in a dry, clean area.
