  • Mangar Swift (Supine Transfer Slide)
  • The Rhino and Swift require two or more people to operate. The Airflo Duo must only be used by professionals trained in its use.
  • The Mangar Rhino Lifting Cushion is designed to lift a person in the supine position from the floor. When inflated, the Rhino lifts the patient to the height of a bed or stretcher.
  • The Mangar Swift Transfer Slide enables healthcare workers to transfer and reposition patients in the supine position with minimal moving and handling force needed.
  • Further guidance on operation can be found in the individual accessory User Instructions.
  • The Airflo Duo compressor and applied parts are intended for continual re-use as required and no special actions or operations are needed to achieve this.

WARNINGS

  • Be sure that you have read and understood these instructions and those provided with any other Winncare product, before operating the equipment.
  • To avoid the risk of electric shock, NEVER recharge the battery in the bathroom, outdoors or in a damp environment.
  • To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not use the optional mains power adaptor in the bathroom, outdoors or in a damp environment.
  • Avoid the use of the Airflo Duo in wet conditions.
  • Always disconnect from the battery charger before cleaning.
  • Use only the supplied battery charger.
  • Ensure that when in use, the Airflo Duo and its connected hose are laid out in such a way as to avoid any risk of tripping or strangulation.
  • Ensure that children and pets do not interfere with the safe operation of the Airflo Duo and inflatable product.
  • Keep the Airflo Duo and inflatable product away from sources of heat.
  • Disconnect the Airflo Duo compressor from the inflatable product before transporting so as to avoid accidental inflation.
  • The Airflo Duo should only be used for its stated purpose and should not be modified in any way.
  • The optional mains power adaptor (The Mean Well Enterprises AC/DC Switching Adaptor Model GST160A24-R7B) is specific to the Airflo Duo and is the only approved unit to be used for this purpose.
  • WARNING: This product and associated packaging does not contain any materials known to cause an allergic reaction. Please contact customerservices@winncare.uk if you have specific concerns.

  • 1 x User Instructions.
  • 1 x Mains Power Adaptor. (C)

Power Button
When the ‘Power’ button is pressed, the compressor will turn on once connected will begin inflating the inflatable product. The battery state indicator will show the battery capacity at the start of operation.

Battery State Indicator

When the Battery State Indicator button is pressed, the lights indicate how much charge remains in the battery.

WARNING:
When the red indicator light appears, either continue to use with the mains power adaptor connected, or place on charge. Running the Airflo Duo on RED until the battery is exhausted will damage the battery and risk being unable to complete a full lift or transfer. When the compressor is running, the battery status indicator lights will only indicate the state of battery charge as it was at the start of the lift.

IMPORTANT:
To maximize the lifting performance of the battery, fully recharge the battery after use.

Battery Charging

Fully charge the battery before first use. – fig. 1

  • Check the battery charger casing and lead for signs of damage and if damaged DO NOT USE.
  • Fit the appropriate mains plug adaptor to the battery charger (A).
  • Plug the battery charger into a mains power socket and connect the charger output lead to the Airflo Duo charging socket (B).

NOTE:
On first charge or when fitting a new battery it should be fully charged before use. On subsequent charges the Airflo Duo measures the battery capacity and charges as required. As the battery charges, the indicator lights will incrementally increase to display battery capacity.

When the battery is fully charged:

  • The compressor will move into an energy saving mode with the top LED flashing every 6 seconds and the other 3 will be off.

NOTE:
The compressor will not run whilst the charger is connected.

To ensure optimum performance, it is recommended that the Airflo Duo is left continuously on charge when not in use. The batteries cannot be overcharged using this charger.

Mains Power Adaptor

A mains power adaptor is available to power the Airflo Duo directly from a mains power socket. The adaptor is specific to the Airflo Duo and is the only approved unit to be used for this purpose. Connect the adaptor between a mains power socket and the adaptor inlet socket on the end of the Airflo Duo (A). – fig. 2

NOTE:
This adaptor, has a non-standard output connector and powers the Airflo Duo directly, it will not charge the battery. The only way to charge the battery is to use the charger which was supplied with the Airflo Duo. With the power adaptor connected, the Airflo Duo behaves in the same way as if it was running on the battery, the only functional difference is that the battery indicator will show bottom LED orange whilst the Airflo is running.

Operation

Disconnect the Airflo Duo from the battery charger.  – fig. 3

  • Connect the hose (A) to the valve on the inflatable product. When using to inflate the Mangar Rhino, ensure you always inflate the sections in order from 1 through to 4. Please refer to the separate Rhino User Instructions for full detail.
  • Connect the hose from the inflatable to the Airflo Duo air outlet socket (B). The connector will ‘click’ into place when firmly pushed onto the socket. Note: Either end of the hose is compatible with the inflatables and the Airflo Duo.
  • To switch on, press the ‘Power’ button (C). The compressor will then begin to inflate the product.
  • If using to inflate the Rhino, when full inflaion is reached on each tier, all 4 lights will flash.
  • Detach the hose from the inflatable before pressing the power button to switch the Airflo Duo off. The indicator lights will go out.

Cleaning

Unless contamination is suspected, periodic cleaning is all that is recommended. The Airflo Duo should be cleaned/disinfected as follows:

  • Unplug the Airflo Duo from the battery charger. Clean the external surfaces using a non abrasive damp cloth with warm water. Clinell Universal wipes or similar can be used. Wipe dry thoroughly with a dry towel before reconnecting to the battery charger. Do not allow moisture to enter any part of the compressor.
  • Do not use solvent-based products.

Disinfecting/Sterilising
Disinfection – Pre-clean the Airflo compressor by wiping with a damp cloth and then disinfect by wiping with a 1:10 solution of household liquid bleach and water – 1 part bleach to 10 parts cold water (10,000ppm (1%) Sodium Hypochlorite solution). Do not allow moisture to enter any part of the compressor. Allow to air dry. In usual circumstances this product does not require sterilisation for reuse.

Storage
When not in use, store in a dry place together with these instructions. Winncare recommends you ensure the Airflo Duo is fully charged before storing. To maintain the Airflo Duo battery when being stored for long periods, ensure it is fully charged every 3 months.

Maintenance

The Airflo Duo has been designed to be maintenance free and apart from replacing the battery, the Airflo Duo contains no other user serviceable parts.

Battery replacement:

  • Battery replacement should be carried out by a professional. Please contact your supplier if you require a battery replacement.

When it becomes apparent that the Airflo Duo is producing fewer than expected lifting cycles or the maximum pressure is no longer being reached, the battery is probably reaching the end of its working life and should be replaced. If a fault should develop or if you require assistance in setting up using or maintaining the equipment, please contact your supplier.

Disposal
When the Airflo Duo has reached the end of it’s working life, remove the battery for safe disposal and dispose of the Airflo Duo using your organisation’s recycling/disposal system.
