The TPS/i Manual Welding Torches are manufactured by Fronius International. These torches are designed for MIG/MAG welding and are available in different models and versions. The torches come in both gas-cooled and water-cooled options. The torches are made with a balanced geometry that allows for comfortable handling and a non-slip grip. They feature LED lighting for better visibility before and after welding. The torch body is made of steel and has protected insulation. The wear parts are perfectly matched to the type of torch, ensuring durability and efficient performance.

The TPS/i Manual Welding Torches also offer several additional features and options. The Multilock Torch Body is a patented interface that allows for quick and easy torch body changes. The PullMig Torch Body is one of the smallest and lightest PushPull welding torches in the world, suitable for aluminum welding. The Up/Down Welding Torch has a stepless control of welding power directly at the torch, while the Jobmaster Display integrates a control element with a display for viewing and adjusting important welding parameters. The torches can also be equipped with a potentiometer for operation with the TPS/i welding system. Additional options include a heat shield for shielding radiant heat and welding spatter, a pistol grip for Push and PullMig welding torches, and a torch trigger extension for a more flexible grip position. These options can be ordered separately as projects.

Product Usage Instructions

To use the TPS/i Manual Welding Torches, follow these steps:

1. Select the appropriate torch model and version based on your welding requirements.
2. Ensure that the torch is properly connected to the welding machine or power source.
3. Make sure that the torch is securely held and the handle components provide a comfortable grip.
4. Before starting the welding process, use the LED lighting to illuminate the welding area for better visibility.
5. Adjust the welding power directly at the torch using the Up/Down function or the Jobmaster Display, if available.
6. Follow the recommended welding techniques and parameters for the specific material and application.
7. Monitor the welding process and make any necessary adjustments to ensure proper weld quality.
8. After welding, use the LED lighting again to inspect the weld and surrounding area.
9. If desired, additional options such as a heat shield or pistol grip can be installed for improved comfort and safety.
10. Regularly check and replace wear parts as needed to maintain optimal torch performance.

Torch properties and extras

Handling
Torch geometry and material:

• Torch body length and angle are optimally aligned for each torch type.
• The balanced geometry allows the torch to lie well in the hand.
• The handle components are made of soft non-slip material.

Lighting by LED

• Lighting of the welding area before and after welding.
• Standard with Up/Down and Job master welding torches as well as with MTG 400i, MTW320i and MTW500i.

Robust construction

• Outer tube made of steel.
• Protected insulation in the torch body.
• Less heat absorption due to pointed contact tips.
• Wear parts perfectly matched to the type of torch.

Multilock TorchBody

• A patented interface that enables a quick and easy torch body change.
• Torch body can be rotated 360°and fixed at the desired angle for best possible welding even in hard-to-reach positions.
• The 0°position is fixed by an anti-rotation device.

Pull Mig Torch Body

• One of the smallest and lightest Push Pull welding torches in the world.
• Range of 10 m possible (use of long hose packages).
• Stable wire feed independent of material.
• Frequently used for aluminium welding.

PullMig CMT

• Optimized for a perfect wire feeding.
• Wire inching without opening the feed rollers possible.
• Flexible, rotating rubber anti kink feature for better handling.
• Weight in 1m height: 1,96 kg.

Cooling water cooled 500i

• Cooling was pulled forward as far as possible and also on the outside.
• At 500A the gas nozzle can be replaced after about 1 min 30 sec by hand without gloves.

Up/Down Welding Torch

• The up/down function allows steplesscontrol of the welding power directly at the welding torch.

Jobmaster Display

• Control element with display is integrated in the torch handle.
• Important welding parameters such as welding power, stored jobs and other welding parameters can be viewed and adjusted directly on the component.

Potentiometer operation for TPS/i welding torches

• Not standard but can be ordered as a project.
• Conversion of existing hose packages possible.

Torch trigger on top of the torch

• Not standard but can be ordered as a project.
• Is connected in parallel to the standard torch button, thus the welding process can be started and stopped by both buttons.

Heat shield as an option

• Rotatable heat shield made of heat-resistant material to shield radiant heat and welding spatter.
• Simple assembly and disassembly due to click system.

Torch trigger extention

• The key extension allows a more flexible grip position.

Pistol grip for Push and PullMig welding torches

• Pistol grip can be easily mounted afterwards.
• No electrical connection necessary due to simple push-button deflection.

FumeEx extraction set

• External, retrofittableextraction set.
• Suitable for Standard, Multilock, PullMigand PullMigCMT with 45°.
• Also suitable for TPS/d torches (VS/TS/TPS).
• Weight of the extraction set in one metreheight only approx. 395 g.
• Optional leather protection available in 1,1 m length.

Fronius System Connector (FSC)

Wear parts

Contacttips

• Especially developed contact tip geometry.
• Low absorption of radiant heat by new top-contact tip geometry. ****
• Up to 70 °lower temperature on the wear parts.
• Therefore longer lifetime.

Gas nozzles

• Screwedgas nozzle for optimum heat transfer.
• Easy operation.

Clamping pieces

• With sealing for a gas saving of approx. 4%.
• The wire diameter is defined by the colours.
