Fronius TS 5kA-3 Smart Meter
Product Information
The Fronius Smart Meter TS 5kA-3 is an energy meter that measures the energy consumption of a single-phase or three-phase system. It has a maximum current of kVT x kCT and measures the active and reactive energy accurately in compliance with EN IEC 62053-21 and EN IEC 62053-23 standards. The meter has an RS485 communication output that is electrically isolated from the input and auxiliary voltage, and it supports Modbus RTU protocol with 1-255 standard addresses and baud rates of 9600, 19200, and 38400 bit/s. The housing of the meter is made of Noryl, which is self-extinguishing and has a degree of protection of IP54.
Product Usage Instructions
- Switch off the circuit breaker before installing the Fronius Smart Meter.
- Mount the smart meter on a 35 mm DIN rail.
- Connect the auxiliary power supply to the meter.
- Choose one of the following options based on your system configuration:
- For a single-phase, 2-wire system with CT, connect the wires to the screw terminals labeled L1 and L2.
- For a single-phase, 2-wire system with VT/CT, connect the wires to the screw terminals labeled L1 and L2 for CT and L3 for VT.
- For a two-phase, 3-wire system with CT, connect the wires to the screw terminals labeled L1, L2, and L3.
- For a two-phase, 3-wire system with VT/CT, connect the wires to the screw terminals labeled L1, L2, and L3 for CT and L4 for VT.
- For a three-phase, 3-wire system with CT, connect the wires to the screw terminals labeled L1, L2, L3, and N.
- For a three-phase, 3-wire system with VT/CT, connect the wires to the screw terminals labeled L1, L2, L3, N for CT and L4, L5, L6 for VT.
- For a three-phase, 4-wire system with ARON CT, connect the wires to the screw terminals labeled L1, L2, L3, N for CT and ARON for the ARON CT.
- For a three-phase, 4-wire system with CT, connect the wires to the screw terminals labeled L1, L2, L3, N for CT and L4, L5, L6 for VT.
- For a three-phase, 4-wire system with VT/CT, connect the wires to the screw terminals labeled L1, L2, L3, N for CT and L4, L5, L6 for VT.
- Connect the data cables to the RS485 communication output of the meter.
- Configure the meter’s settings according to your system requirements.
- Set up a password to secure access to the meter’s configuration.
